"I don't know." Rowan replied, then shook his head to get his thoughts straight. "We haven't been together all that long. I suppose it could get annoying after some time." It had become apparent to Rowan that Cass was genuinely curious about things and he would need to explain himself soon. But for now he was just content to give him fragments of information, for that was about all he knew.

"But what is worse? Being alone except for some fling with a mare or being with a group who can help you in tough times?" Rowan asked, though even he didn't know the answer to that. He had been alone most of his life so being part of a herd was quite a new experience for him, and even he was getting used to the idea of it.

Cass had hoped for a bit more of an answer then 'i don't know' but hey Rowan couldn't help it if he hadn't been with his group long now could he? and perhaps the stallion wasn't comfortable spilling his soul to someone he'd just met - that at least Cass could understand to some degree.

"well I expect that depends on the group...and the mare"Cass remarked with a slight chuckle, he had a vague idea that Rowan didn't necessarily agree with Cass' lifestyle choice, but he spoke more with a voice of past experience then open disdain. This was interesting since as far as Cass could tell Rowan wasn't an overly old horse - older then Cass sure, but certainly not elderly. "So before Mr. Scorned and I nearly barged into your forest hideaway there, were you headed anywhere in particular? I don't think I've seen you around or heard of you before"And that was certanly the truth - I mean sure Cass wasn't one to sit about and gossip, but he was pretty darn sure hed have remembered seeing Rowan around before.

Rowan shook his head as once again Cass mentioned mares. Ah to be young and lustful again, he thought. It was quite odd how Cass reminded him of himself before his life took a turn for a worse. He wasn't nearly the ladies man Cass was, but he certainly did have a way with the mares when he was in his better days.

"This group is a little....different." Rowan replied. He would have explained it further but even he had a hard time trying to think of a way of explaining his herd without sounding a little crazy. He glanced at the trees where he had been when he first saw Cass and the other stallion, then back at the younger paint. "Oh I was just roaming around a bit." His tail flickered a bit while thinking about what to say next. "I doubt many have heard of me around here, I am quite new to this land." That was both a lie and the truth. He had once called these lands home much like Cass did now, but that was before death had taken him from the grassy meadows. But now he had returned, and well it was different now, though it had some similar feelings to it.

Cass wasn't exactly sure what Rowan meant by 'different', as far as he could tell most herds were pretty much the same - one 'I'm the boss' type stallion with a lackey and a favorite mare being followed about by a gaggle of other horses who either weren't capable of taking care of themselves..or weren't willing to try - Cass had never really figured out which one was the truth.

Regardless it was semi-intriguing, at least intriguing enough for Cass to stick around and keep talking to the strange Palomino. It had been a while since the paint had spent some time with another stallion and while he clearly enjoyed the company of mares - it was nice to unwind in the presence of another male from time to time as well.

"Wandering to get some time away from the herd...or just for the sake of it?" He asked with a faint touch of curiosity."Not that i'm not gld you were around regardless" He added with a faint chuckle.

"Little bit of both I suppose." Rowan replied. He didn't really wander away form the herd because he didn't want to be around them, he was just curious about how things had changed around here since the last time he roamed these lands. "I might not be there next time." He commented, surely he couldn't follow this stallion around to make sure he stayed out of trouble and stick with his herd. No, he thought, Cass needed to learn things the hard way, might do him some good.

The thought passed Rowan's mind of what Cass would think if he ran across one of the mares in his heard and let out a light chuckle. He looked back at Cass not really sure how to explain what he found so amusing. Hopefully the young stallion would just assume that it was about something they were discussing.

Cass bobbed his head slightly in the equine equivalent of a nod as he took in Rowan's answer, he had a feeling the palamino still wasn't tell him the whole truth - or maybe that he was hiding something and Cass couldn't help but want to pick at that something until he unraveled the whole tale. What could he say - he was the curious sort, it wasn't just the mares that got Cass into trouble from time to time.

"Maybe not, but that was an extreme situation - typically I manage to get out before the scorned stallion comes sniffing around" Cass responded with a slight smile - his track record for escaping vs. confrontation was pretty good considering. At least numbers wise - which is what Cass choose to look at, the fact that it would only take one bad encounter to halt his little transgressions forever was something he choose not to notice. What was te point of living if you didn't have fun doing so?

It was about this time in the paints thoughts that Rowan choose to chuckle a bit and Cass arched a brow at him wondering hat funny thought had crossed his companions mind.
"whats so funny?"

"One extreme situation can lead to another. And before you know it your life as a carefree bachelor is over." Rowan said as he glanced out one again at the surrounding areas. "Then what will you do with yourself?"

His eyes flickered as he tried to think of a reason for his laughter. "Oh uh...nothing. I was just thinking about something that happened to me a while back." Perhaps Cass would believe that. For explaining the mares in the herd would be well a little hard to do. Sure he would lie about them but that would only make Cass consider going after them, and well that might turn out interesting. Maybe he should lie just so that he could see the look on Cass' face when he laid eyes on the rest of the herd.

Cass chuckled slightly, indeed what would he do with himself once his days as a roaming bachelor was over? It was a good question - one that he had never really thought about. But now that Rowan had brought ti up Cass pursed his lip in thought as he considered his answer. well I expect when that occurs I will follow my Dam's advice...find a pretty mare and actually settle down" He finally replied before shaking his head slightly as thought to rid his mind of such serious thoughts."Of course I expect that will be a ways off yet" The paint concluded with a grin.

He decided not to pry any further into whatever Rowan had been laughing about - clearly the palomino didn't feel like sharing whatever it had been and Cass didn't know him enough yet to really pressure him for the truth. He did like the beast though - despite his odd appearance and his frayed ropes. Perhaps someday - Cass would find out whatever it was Rowan held so closely to his chest.

Rowan thought for a moment and then spoke. "Your Dam was a smart lady, you should listen to her advice. It could do you some good." He shook out his mane. "You never know when your glory days will be over. Trust me on that." He snorted lightly as he remembered how quickly his days as a carefree bachelor came to an end, and his life with it. Perhaps Cass would avoid such a sudden end. Rowan in a way hoped so, for in Cass he saw the life he once had, the life that he missed out on.

"So where will you go now?" It was a silly question and Rowan knew the answer. Someplace with new mares to have a fling with. Ah to be young again. Not that Rowan was that old. He was only a few years older than Cass, still in the prime of his life. And yet he doubted he could be like Cass, not with the way he looked now. How many mares would love him with his scars and ropes. Did he care? Not really. But the thought did cross his mind every now and then.

Cass had always considered his dam smart - he had just never felt her advice was meant for him, the painted stallion did not yet want t settle for the boring monotony life in a herd would surely offer. Seeing the same beasts and the same places day in and day out did not seem so much a life as a prison - and Cass had no intentions of imprisoning himself anytime soon. Of course there was some truth to Rowan's words - clearly the Palomino's glory days were behind him in any case, Cass didn't know to many mares who would wish for a stallion with open sores and frayed roes upon thier bodies. No matter how vain and shallow Cass himself was - Mares were quite worse, that he had learned early on.

"I'm not sure really" The stallion confessed with a slight swish of his tail as though in thought"Clearly not from whence I came eh?"He stated with a slight chuckle while motioning his head in the direction Servo had departed"You see..I'm not completely daft Rowan..just a bit a daredevil"He concluded with a slight twinkle to his eye."How about you? back to your herd I expect?"

Rowan let out a small chuckle. No Cass wasn't a daft stallion. At least he didn't seem to be, he was at least smart enough to avoid Servo's area again. Still he wondered, how a horse could keep on going like Cass currently was. Rowan had been like him once, but that time was cut short. One minute he was free and looking for a mare to spend a day with. The next he was captured and then well, then he wound up in Hell.

He shifted his back leg a bit, the rope was one again starting to bother him. "Yes, I will return to the herd. My leaders will soon wonder where I am." Rowan replied, though he wasn't entirely sure Thanos would notice if he were gone. That stallion didn't seem to be all there, Thorn on the other hand would likely notice. He didn't want to upset his leaders so soon after joining the herd. But there was still time before he would need to return. "They are not far away though, so I'm sure I would know if they were looking for me. Guess they haven't noticed me missing yet."

"Or perhaps they think you can take care of yourself and just feel no need to go searching for you" Cass remarked after a few moments. He wasn't sure if Rowan really cared about being missed but Cass knew allot of horses did and since he found himself rather likeing the pale stallion he choose to point out a better option then..they hadn't noticed he was gone."At least you seemed to handle yourself pretty good against Servo there" Cass continued even while thinking to himself - which was fairly surprising considering your current state of health, but of course he didn't mention those thoughts out loud, that would be somewhat rude.

Truthfully Cass had no really inkling of where he might go after this - he'd never been one to make long standing plans one way or another - he just tended to drift about, heading in whatever direction his hooves happened to carry him
"I haven't been in the area long - perhaps I'll stick around the area..and just avoid Servo"

Rowan's head bobbed slightly while he thought. Yes he could take care of himself and surely the herd leaders knew that. There was a very good chance that Thanos hadn't noticed him missing, or for that matter didn't care. Perhaps one less horse to worry about for a bit would do the stallion some good. "Yes, well I was in many fights back in the day. Those skills never really go away, just get a little weaker with time." He glanced at Cass with a little glint in his eyes. "Guess I haven't lost my touch yet huh?"

"I haven't been here long either. Still getting used to the area. Although I'm not sure if my herd will stay here or move to a different place. Guess I'll find out in time." He didn't care where in the lands they choose to make the herds new home, for no matter where they lived they would surely run into many horses that would be disturbed by the presence of their new neighbors, and that was something that rowan both looked forward to and worried about.

"Well Servo certainly thought you hadn't"Cass remarked with a slight chuckled"He did leave after all" The paint continued after the chuckled had faded away and he regarded his companion silently for a few moments. He rather liked the Palomino and although Cass was not one to stay in an area for long he thought maybe he'd make an effort to at least keep track of Rowan..well if the other stallion was amicable to a friendship anyways. He hadn't chased him off yet and wit Cass when it came to stallions that was a pretty decent sign, then again Cass hadn't met roan while trying to steal his girl either.

"Maybe you can tell me some of those tales sometime"The Paint offered, speaking up before the silence got awkward."Maybe I can learn a thing of two eh? We made a pretty decent team back there"He continued with his offer of friendship, Rowan probably didn't have many friends and well..neither did Cass really maybe it would be good for both of them.

"Yes, perhaps sometime I can share those tales with you." His head bobbed a bit. "I suppose you could learn a few things from me." He would have said more but the sound of other horses cut him off. He glanced in the direction that Servo had run off wondering if the stallion had returned with reinforcements, but there were no horses within sight from that direction. Must be his herd moving this way, best not let them see him talking with an outside.

"Sounds like the herd is on the move. I best be joining them again." He stated. "But before I leave let me leave you with a little advice. Don't let yourself ever get so distracted by a mare that it leaves you open to be chased down by humans. It's a good way to get yourself killed." He turned and began to make his way towards where the herd sounded like they were. Turning his head he looked back at Cass one last time. "Trust me on that. It happened to me once." And with that he disappeared into the bank of the trees to leave Cass behind. What he made of that last bit of information Rowan could only guess. Would he believe him or just think that the older stallion was joking. Well if he ever ran into Cass again he would be sure to ask what he thought about that. For now though, he would return to his herd and do the leaders bidding.
