Prajna let out a soft yelp of surprise, nothing louder than a cat's meow as it felt something sharp dig its way into its exposed shoulder. The stinger only seemed to press deeper into the flesh when Prajna tried to free itself then suddenly, the Star felt everything lock up. What was this feeling? The stinging sensation doubled over for a second and Prajna wondered if it was dying. It hurt! Everything hurt! Then a slow, disgusting warmth spread from its shoulder into the rest of its body. The bruise Rivener had left pulsed, aggravated. Prajna winced as the virus's effects took over once again, its presence doubled by Rivener's toxin. The Flame began to sweat fervently, all the heat it should have been digesting spilling over in its pores. How disgusting.
The Frei's lips parted, trying to hiss Rivener's name once more, to get the stupid Scorpion to stop but it was helpless. The poison had settled and now Prajna really was nothing more than an afternoon snack.
"Y-your elbow? Please be car--" But Namini was cut short as the man struck the glass, the explosion of glass scaring the girl into taking a step back. Was he bleeding? Was he ok? --
"Prajna.." the name escaped her lips just seconds before her legs reacted. Hopping over the scattered pieces of glass in one, two swift, surprisingly graceful leaps, Namini found herself facing a terrifying looking Sigel. Her eyes flickered to the shaking figure beneath him and there lay her baby. Her precious Prajna. Her eyes widened for a split second before narrowing into a dangerous glare, one only a mother could possess. Without thinking of the consequences, the potential danger she could be turning on herself, Namini grabbed one of Rivener's wings and, using all her weight, pulled the Sigel back.
"Get off of it! Rivener, you better get the HELL off of my Prajna!"

Rivener's delight at finally having his meal immobilized shattered along with that windowpane. The Scorpion blinked at the open door in surprise, watching Prajna's inept Guardian leap towards him and, in a flurry of motherly concern, yank at one of Rivener's wings.
"RRRHHAAAARGH!" Riv roared, shaking the intact glass in the balcony door, reeling up as his wing was tugged. He glowered dangerously at the woman over his shoulder. "THAT HURTS, YOU HARLOT!" Rivener's other wing tried to get a proper angle to strike Namini, but it was too difficult. His wings just weren't meant to bend behind himself. "LET GO!" Getting up and spinning in a circle to try and get the woman off, Rivener grabbed a handful of Namini's hair and yanked as hard as she was pulling on his wing. "I'M GOING TO-"
"RIVENER DELARAN, stop that right this minute! LET GO!" Aphismet was at the two wrestling people's side, grabbing Riv's arm and trying to get him to release Namini's hair.
"SHE'S the one holding ME, you daft b*****d!"
"I said let go, damnit, or I'm going to cut your internet and cancel our television subscription!" The chef knew those were the only weapons in his arsenal, since Rivener wouldn't be able to get the companies to hook those services back up. By law, Riv wasn't a "person". He glared at the furious ruby eyes, showing how serious he was. ...If only he could ignore the bubble of fear growing in his stomach when the Sigel's eyes narrowed like that.
"Fine!" Riv snapped, releasing the woman's hair. "But she has to let go too!"
"Only if you promise to stay way over in the corner and don't touch Prajna again, damn it." Aphismet glanced at the prone frei. "AND you tell us what the hell you did."
With a roll of his eyes, Rivener crossed his arms and growled, "ALRIGHT. Whatever."
Aphismet nodded to Namini, hoping the woman would release her hold. Hoping Rivener would keep to his word.

Namini winced as the Scorpion's clawed fingers intertwined with her curly hair, but refused to let go. No pain could be worse than everything her charge had gone through these last few weeks! Namini did let out a small cry though as Rivener continued to pull, screaming now in her ear. Luckily, the older Delaran jumped in. The words being exchanged sounded to be in the distance, but they were magical nonetheless, eventually getting the dark colored Sigel to release its hold on the girl. Simultaneously, Namini released her hold on the Scorpion's wing, her hand quickly moving to her tender scalp. That big dope..That really hurt. Cerulean eyes flickered back to the bed, now only occupied by one.
"Prajna?" The tears started to return. Namini rushed over to the bed and began to caress the Frei's cheek... until she felt the sweat oozing out of its pores. More disturbed than disgusted, she turned back to address Aphismet, though her eyes pierced Rivener to the corner, "I didn't tell you earlier but..Prajna..it seems sick. Every time we offer it something to eat, it eats artificial lighting and heat you see..well..it just gets really sweaty, like its body isn't taking it in right. Like its powers are all messed up or something..and its temperament. Its been a little..off. It's not as angry, just..everything else."
Prajna wished Namini would shut up. If she wanted angry, it was angry now. The pain had subsided and it was just frozen in place by the toxin, but that didn't mean it couldn't hear her. But..hm..it was really sick then?

Aphismet glared at Rivener as the Scorpion retreated to the corner as he'd been told. Riv didn't seem pleased at all but he was doing it. Aphi could turn his attention to Namini and the poor bed-ridden Prajna. Attentively he listened as Namini went on to explain the poor frei's symptoms, and the chef's eyes widened. "N-Namini, that sounds serious. If Prajna can't feed right, you should definitely take him to the lab to see Dr Kyou! At least call and leave a message, this is not something I can help you with! All I can suggest is that you try to get a doctor to see Prajna, and in the meantime try to keep it comfortable."
Turning his accusing glare on Rivener soon after, Aphismet took a step and pointed at the prone frei. "Now, you come over here and give Prajna the antidote to whatever you put in his veins!"
Rivener snorted and crossed his arms, looking aside. "No. Don't feel like it."
"Rivener, so help me. Do as I say!"
"Or what?" Well, Rivener KNEW what Aphi had threatened, but the Scorpion didn't want his stupid guardian thinking he'd get the upper hand for long. He narrowed his eyes at Aphi. "You might think you're winning, but soon you're not going to expect it, and I'll poison you so bad-..."
"CURE PRAJNA, Rivener!!" Aphismet ignored how he'd blanched at the threat. It sounded all too possible. But for the moment, like Riv said, Aphismet was winning and he would use that leverage to get Prajna the hell out of here.
Growling, the Scorpion advanced and lifted a stinger, making sure Namini wasn't going to tackle him. With a strike probably harder than it needed to be, Rivener administered the antidote to the paralysis poison, piercing Prajna in nearly the same spot. "There, crybabies. He'll be fine in a few minutes." Hands on hips, Riv backed away a few paces, glaring.
Aphi turned concerned eyes to the curly-haired woman. "You and Praj should probably go, before anything worse happens. I can help you carry your Raevan until it shakes off the toxin..."

"Well, David and I think..Prajna's eating ok..it's just..well.." Namini didn't know how to continue. Prajna seemed to be eating fine, it just seemed to be harvesting the power it took in..wrong. Namini knew very little of its powers but what she did know, applied to the crisis that had just taken place, she knew Prajna would not have gone down without more of a fight. David had said something about blue flames, a weird cold sensation, scratching. Lots and lots of scratching. Namini turned back to her charge as Rivener approached, all the anger in her seemingly washed clean.
Prajna, on the other hand, was fighting with its suddenly overwhelming emotions. It was so mad! Everyone was pitying it! How frustrating. And Rivener? What was his deal?! Anger soon waged war with guilt though as Namini's cool hand returned to Prajna's cheek. It felt so nice, an odd feeling for once, the Frei preferring the cold to warmth. She had been so worried..
Suddenly, the relief was gone and a sharp pain returned. Prajna's jaw tightened as Rivener's stinger found itself deep in Prajna's shoulder again. It would make sure to give Rivener Hell whenever it got its strength back! This stabbing business was a little too much!! Soon, a kind of crisp, tingling fluid seemed to be flowing throughout the Star's body and its jaw relaxed, slowly but surely. Then the Star let out a soft sigh, though the rest of its body remained paralyzed. Cerulean eyes flickered outwards and in search of the rubies that had been pinning it down just moments ago.
Prajna shot Rivener a look of irritation before Namini threw her arms around the Frei's clammy neck, "Thank goodness you're ok Prajna.."
Another sigh. Namini was too hot to be this close.
"Mr. Aphismet, I'll follow your advice. We will be taking our leave now" Namini declared as she adjusted her weight to support Prajna's. The redhead would have scolded her for moving it so roughly, for being so goddamn HOT, but the paralysis refused to budge. They would be long gone from the Delaran home before it would be able to yell at her..
As they approached the front door, Prajna cradled against Namini's chest, the brunette turned back to the Delarans, smiling a bittersweet grin as she prepared to leave, "Thank you Mr. Aphismet, for trying at least. We shall be more careful next time."
