I think I'd be a Griffendor.
I break too many rules to be a Hufflepuff and I care too much for other people to be in Slytherin.

.-.
I basically read anything^^
My favorite series is the Sweep series which is about an adopted girl who joined a coven with her boyfriend.(Wiccan)And she finds out she's a blood witch.
Right now I'm reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the looking-glass, The Cirque Du Freak series, and Interview with a Vampire.
and yet three more questions.

1. have you seen the disney cartoon version of alice in wonderland?

2. if so, how close was it to the book?

3. which was better?

1.Yes
2.Hmm...cloesr than most books movies
3.I would say the book.But they're both rather silly.XD

3. Well it wouldn't be much of a satire if it wasn't silly now would it be?

Did you pick up that it was a satire while reading it?
It wasn't till just recently when I watched it again that I realized t was a satire.

Alice in Wonderland is a satire on city life.
A country girl is sitting through her lessons when she day dreams of a crazy city life as opposed to her boring structured country life.
In the end, she realizes that she doesn't need the excitement of the city, and the sensible country life suits her well.

If you weren't familiar with certain aspects of city life, it would be very easy to miss some of the more obvious allusions.

you allways have the ally-cat who is wise to everything and knows the city so well, he can do as he pleases without getting himself into trouble. He is also ready to lend scarce advice to newcomers and toy with them for his own amusement.

In the time period which this novel was written, people often wore shiney tall black hats. the thing that made them shiney was lead. A normal person would only recieve slight lead poisioning, however someone employed in making those hats would recieve lethal doses. the lead would interfere with brain activity making them apear insane, thus coining the phrase 'mad hatter'.

Even though goverment was developed with the intention of keeping the order, officials were not too bright. If you'll remember, the governor in the film was a dodo bird. Officials often used a twisted logic that mad things apear to be in order, when in actuality, they were accomplishing nothing. Even though, citizens may have been bright enough to realize that running in circles beneath the waves was not doing them any good, they'd keep on going because the governor was getting drier standing above them on a rock with a fire. He himself would never do as his civilians did "now lets not be ridiculus!" he would never run into a building to drive out a monster, that was work to be done by comoners. He would play on the emotions of others to get something done. All the while, you wonder if he's doing it for self image, or because he's actually mental enough to think that it will work.

If you're interested, I could provide you with several more, but those were just some of the more prominent ones that stuck out in my mind.
