OK so if I'm not mistaken, the sticks your wands are made of choose you more or less right? Not the other way around. So I was just wondering, can a certain kind of tree call to you in a dream? Like if that kind of tree isn't common in your area so you wouldn't come across it unless you went looking for it?
Just wondering what others thought because even though I'm not even sure if I will make a wand yet, I think that may be why I had a certain dream a long time ago.
Stranger things have happened. But, even if the tree calls to you, yo need to look at many different branches and sticks before you find the one. They call to you, and for many they call in bunches. I have many wands, some work better than others, some are for different occasions. The most important thing is the feel. It must feel like an extension of your own body. Like it was made for you.
Renkon Root: You have a point. No one really needs a wand. You can work just as fine without one, like most tools. But for some people having the physical connection and representation of a wand helps them focus and direct energy. I know I enjoy using my wand because it brings me into the state of mind I need to preform my rites/rituals/spells/etct. To each his own.
