Wait, wait, she was OK with it?

He stared at her as he took back his wallet, one eyebrow raised. Did she just call him a-a cutie?! He resisted the urge to straighten up and attempt to restore the tattered remains of the gum left from two weeks ago on his right shoe -or ego, it was sometimes hard to tell which one it was.

Cue heart nearly thumping out of his chest at her smile - darnit why did all the girls he meet have to be so adorable?

With the best of his somewhat-regained reputation, he gave the other lieutenant a very exaggerated salute, trying to look serious. "Yes, of course I will, fellow, uh, agent and stuff. Thank you for your help, in the name of all those evil things that we do, yes!"

And here he abruptly turned, back straight as a board, stiffly walking away as if on parade, trying to look somewhat reputable all the way until he turned the next block.

Phew, that was a close one, that'll be the last time he pretended he had something IMPORTANT to do. All in all, he got his wallet back, met a somewhat approachable lieutenant, it wasn't too bad an encounter.

He felt like he was forgetting something though. Something about some sort of... something important involving unconscious bodies and stuff. Nah, it couldn't have been that important if he couldn't remember it.
