Kaya tilted her head, watching him raise his tail in sadness. Without thinking much before hand she padded around him and brushed her paws against the fish-like tail he had. She smiled at him, moisture gathering in her eyes now.
"Oh Shakespeare...Anybody that would look down on you for your tail or horn is simply foolish. Your amazing, you speak like a poet...and...I believe your tail is a gift." She looked at it again for a moment.
"I wouldn't mind having a tail like yours to be honest. I imagine you can swim as well as a water lion..." She padded closer, meeting his eyes with her own, a single tear slipping down her cheek. "Any lioness would be blessed to have you as a mate Shakespeare..."

The male lion watched her with a small frown. Why was that look on her face? Confusion spread through his mind like a wild fire so he was dumbfounded slightly but he watched, his mouth shut and his eyes on her. As her face turned to him and the water gathered there, he stepped forward worried he had somehow hurt her. What had he said to make her so upset? At her words, his heart swelled and he smiled softly at her. He spoke like a poet? He was always told he spoke weirdly. If this was true, he was not sure. But he loved that she didn't judge him too harshly. Even not at all harsh. He loved it. His tail was a gift? He saw it as a curse. No female wanted him for what he was and this was understandable. He was a freak. As she moved closer the words she said made his throat constrict for a moment and his eyes searched her face.
"Same to thee. Thou art the kindest lass that has yet spoken such words to me."
