"Altar never goes out." Or at least, the keeper never brought him out. K was such a neglected child-- it was probably a good thing that hellhounds were rather isolated creatures to begin with. If he was as demanding as say, a golden retriever, things would definitely not end well.

Following the other to the beach was the simple part. He was tall for his [supposed] age, so while he was shorter than Vayth, he didn't really need to run to keep up. It was a nice walk, actually-- the sun wasn't overbearing and it wasn't like they were short of any shade. The path was straight and well paved and there really wasn't much more one could ask for.

It was when they got to the beach that was the problem.

The ocean was captivating when viewed from a distance. It moved, it receded and advanced-- like something alive. K had felt in tune with it, as all animals were. But up close, the massive amount of water seemed daunting. Hellhounds didn't like water. At all.

"Uh..."
K glanced from the ocean to Vayth, then back and forth again. Each time, the incubus seemed to lose more clothes until finally the other was half naked. Questioningly, the hound frowned.

"What are you doi--" Before the words could properly form and be delivered, the incubus had beat him to the answer.

Huh?

K worked his jaw for a moment, in his panic taking a longer time to reply than normal.

"No. No water." The hellhond's ears flattened, tail whipping back and forth in a motion that both warned and signalled. From the angle of his lips and the slightest baring of fangs, K was definitely ready to fight if the other insisted.

"I'll... Watch... You." That wasn't creepy. Not at all.
Vaguely aware of this, the hound shook his head and directed the focus to something else.

"Your clothes. Won't.. Someone take them?"

PostPosted: Thu Oct 29, 2009 7:59 pm

He didnt see the fascination the hellhound had with the ocean. He wouldn't have understood it anyways, After all, Vayth didnt have the animal instincts that K held.

He was a little confused about the panic that the ocean seemed to put him in. Well, apparently the man didn't want to go in the water. That was obvious. Even a human without common sense could see that. Maybe not. Vayth wasn't about to question it. If the man didn't want to go in, he simply didn't want to.

"You don't know what you're missing." he mumbled as his shirt finally came off. His pants would get wet but thats ok. He could walk home and change.

"Someone taking my clothes? What does it matter? I have another set. I'm not limited from walking home half-naked." He walked towards the beach, in the water a short while later. He tested the temperature at first and then doused his head in salt water. He came up with a sopping wet face and wet locks, the heat hitting his wet body felt really good.

"You sure you just want to watch though, K? It's no fun just sitting there you know."

(( Did you have anything in mind for the next event? ))

That didn't make any sense to K's territorial side. Why leave something right in the open where anyone could take it? If it belongs to you, it belongs to you. Even if you have another set, one more should be better than one less, right?

Eventually though, the hellhound merely seated himself on the log, letting his eyes flicker back and forth across the stretch of land. If he had taken off his shoes, he would have enjoyed the feel of sand between his toes. As it were however, the boy just found it annoying to try walking in. He didn't like not having a firm grip on the floor.

"No." Came the same blunt reply, though a thousand tons firmer. Even if the other seemed to enjoy it, K had enough sense of self identity to know that he wouldn't. It took nothing short of a cage and a large room with no ledges to get K into any expanse of water-- something that Altar had found out pretty early on and forced him into daily.

"What're you doing?"
The new voice caused the hellhound to bounce off the log and disappear into the bushes-- Nearly. If K hadn't tripped over a misplaced weed and landed face first into the sand. Shoes and clothes were such misbegotten things.

Spitting out sand, K glanced behind him at his keeper. Somehow, Altar had escaped the hound's detection altogether and snuck up on him from behind.

Passively, the redhead looked from the hound over to the ocean, then to the set of clothes that K had been sitting next to.

"New friend? You didn't eat him yet?"

((Owner meeting and then we can probably wrap up? LOL I dunno.))

K's territorial side completely contradicted Vayth's lack of attachment to materialism. He didn't attach any important value to any item. Life was easier that way. Just go through life light and you'll do fine without silly attachments.

The new voice from the red head startled him into jumping as well, falling on his rump in the water. Ouch! He had probably stubbed his toe on a rock. Argh.

"Well, if he had, that wouldn't be too responsible for me as a Guardian, would it?" A new voice entered before K could answer, twigs snapping under his arrival. Twigs, leaves and debris snapped under his feet, his arrival wasn't as stealthy as the other man's entrance.

"Yo. The name's Guy." He greeted Altar informally and briefly before calling out to Vayth.

"Vayth! Did you forget we have a dinner tonight? Unless you want to walk in there half-naked-- Wait, Scratch that. You would. Just get in the car and change at home, okay?" He called out, both hands cupped around his mouth to emphasize his voice.

The incubus walked back, neither eager nor reluctant. He paused, taking a look at Altair, the red haired man. He was tall. He extended a hand to help K up, although his hand was a little wet form the salt water. "K, is this your guardian?" Vayth asked curiously, tipping his head a little. So this was the man who hadn't even taught K about beaches yet. What kind of guardian was he?

"Altar." The keeper offered in turn, taking a second to appraise the newcomer before glancing over at the incubus that had walked over. Horns. Wings. ... Whaaat?

"Don't give me that look. Either of you." The redhead's frown deepened, clear emerald eyes flickering from Vayth to K and back again. In the end, he simply shrugged and put his hands into his pockets, turning his back slightly to the three of them.

"What, he's your kid?" This time, the young man decided to simply address Guy. "Wings and horns, what is he?"

"I won't eat him." K responded finally, his mind taking a lot longer to decipher his keeper's words. Although at the incubus' outstretched hand, the hellhound's first reaction was to bite it. Not really because he thought Vayth was edible, but because that was his first instinct and K didn't really understand that the other was offering to help him up.

Quicker than a flash, Altar reached out and sharply closed the hound's mouth, displaying a boldness that was never present when they were alone. Usually, the keeper was scared of K.

"Don't bite. Get up. You're in trouble, kid."

"...." Scrunching up his nose, the hellhound responded by biting Altar instead.

"....................-- ********, YOU STUPID TWERP!"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 31, 2009 5:50 pm

.. Shoot. He was defensive. What was wrong with simply looking at the other? Was Vayth looking at him weirdly? Maybe he was. Hmm.

"What is he?.. Well, on a guess, I'd say an incubus. What's yours? A puppy?" Guy asked, throwing Vayth's shirt to Vayth as the incubus walked up the beach. He worked on taking off his vest from the branch as well, handing Vayth a towel in his other hand.

Vayth didn't really realize K's instinct to bite. By the time he did, Altar had already noticed and had his hand covered over K's mouth. Vayth swore at his stupidity, watching the events unfolding before him. He could amost see what K was going to do next but didn't react in time.

"Whoa, whoa K! I was just trying to help you up." Vayth said, eyes widening. Why would K instinctively bite? it wasnt as if Vayth had posed danger.. or did he? Guy pulled away Altair's hand as he swore.

Guy spoke up. "Dude.. uh.. Altar-- need some bandages there?" He took out a roll, offering it to the swearing Altar.

s**t, ********, s**t, ******** swearing beneath his breath and lacking the creativity to think of new ones, Altar nursed his hand and took a step away from the hellhound, eyes watering as the pain jolted up his arm. For a second, neither the keeper nor the hound did anything, though K did stand up and brush himself off. To Altar, it looked like the boy was mocking him. In response, the man doubled over in pain. It was probably a good thing the hellhound's bite wasn't poisonous as it had been before.

"Disinfectant first."
Altar shook his head at the bandages. If he had been thinking clearly, he might have wondered why the other had some and was able to pull it out so fast. But as it were, the young man merely pulled out his cell and speed dialled for his car.

"Help me... Up?" K scrunched up his nose, ears perking up as he licked his lips. Both the scent and taste of Altar's blood failed to cater to his liking and the boy demonstrated it all by baring his fangs and trying to rub them clean. Talk about adding insult to injury. He didn't seem to be sorry for biting his keeper at all.

"He's a.. hellhound." Altar finally got around to answering the initial question, finding strength to stand properly again. His hand was bleeding so much that the pain was beginning to stop registering, the entire length of his arm going numb. It was amazing how much was seeping out from the two small punctures. As the seconds ticked by the redhead began to grow impatient, asking for the roll of bandages after his prior refusal.

Where was that god damn car?

PostPosted: Sat Oct 31, 2009 10:13 pm

Guy knew he had disinfectant somewhere. He checked his pockets, finally finding it in his back pocket. It was a tiny bottle. Why he had it? Well.. He hadn't exactly walked away from his last job earlier today without any injuries.

"Hellhound huh. Explains the bite." Guy commented, pulling out the small bottle. He took Altar's hand, putting the bandages and disinfectant down on the ground. He soon took out a handkerchief to wipe at the blood. As soon as it lessened a tiny bit, Guy winced.

"Prepare for a world of pain." He warned, pouring the disinfectant directly onto the wound. He wrapped it up soon afterwards, the white bandage was stained by crimson blood but it was lessening the blood flow considerably.

"That's nasty." He tied the bandage extra tightly, probably increasing Altar's pain as well. "I dont think this is the right time to say to train your dog, huh?" Guy tried to lighten the mood, giving a sidewards glance at the hellhound.

-----

While this was happening, Vayth stared curiously at K. "Yep. Helping you up. Remind me not to get bitten by you. Are you sure you're supposed to biting your guardian?" he asked the hellhound, overhearing the conversation. "Hellhound huh. I thought you were a puppy." Vayth commented, scratching his head.

Boy, K was lethal.

Biting his lip as Altar forced himself not to wince, the tears flowed freely when renewed pain slammed itself across his nerve system. In response, he merely uttered a weak whimper, mind already thinking of a thousand curses to a certain demon librarian.

"No, it's not even my dog." The redhead hissed the words quietly, rocking back and forth on his heels as though the motion would ease the pain. He shot the other a grateful look, though the word of thanks neglected to be audible.

"I'd gladly give him away, honestly. Didn't want to be saddled with it for this reason. Doesn't it bother you to have a demon child around?"

--

"He's not my guardian." K responded simply, rubbing his jaw before the barest hint of a smile graced his features. He was less intimidating when he smiled, though the expression lasted only for a split second.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 31, 2009 10:58 pm

"Considering the fast that my demon doesnt have sharp teeth and animal instincts.. And the fact I hope he wont turn to me for his sexual desires, I dont think I mind a demon. No, I dont." Guy responded, a slight grin on his face. Was Guy always cheerful? Probably. He grimaced for a moment, having an idea of how much it must hurt.

"It might warm up to you if you were you know.. warmer to him..?" Guy suggested, standing up. Would this man be okay?

----

"So what is he to you?" Vayth couldnt help but ask, noting that K had a nice smile. A nice.. short smile. But still a smile. Okay.

"Are you going to head home with or without biting him again? Let me be the first to tell you that these humans are delicate. You shouldnt mess with him since he's your only ticket to living in this world." he glanced at Altar, engaged in conversation with Guy. "He doesnt seem too bad either." Vayth commented, running a hand through his hair, slicking back his wet bangs. The action of lifting his hand was slow and cautious, warning that he wasn't doing anything, not wanting K to bite him as well.

"Warm up to him? He tried to eat me three times when he wasn't a kid. Now he's trying to eat me and he's a little twerp."
Altar responded sourly, though he vaguely realized that Guy would have no idea what he was talking about.

Of course, what had the man expected? Nobody would believe him even if the redhead felt like retelling his story about meeting the real K. It wasn't like they'd be able to picture that seven foot tall, flesh rendering beast of hell anyway. Not compared to this 5'1" pup standing next to them at the moment.

Blowing on his hand for a few more minutes before Altar decided to suck it up and stop whining, the heir casted a quick glance over to Vayth, evaluating him for a second time.

"How does yours feed, then? You send him to ***** class="postcontent-align-center" style="text-align: center">
--

"Food, but not food." K responded, a lot quicker than he normally did. What Altar was to him had been a question the hellhound had mused over for a very long time. The fact that he was still unsure lay blatantly obvious in his ambiguous answer.

Red eyes watched Vayth's hand, trailing it from front to back. At length, K flashed another of his rare smiles.

"I don't bite if you're not food and if you don't touch me."
Slipping the words in as some sort of comfort, the boy shrugged before following Vayth's line of sight with his own gaze.

"I don't do anything to him. But he always gets irritated and angry even if I'm sleeping." Drawing in a deep breath, K let it out in a gentle sigh; the action making him seem much older than he really was. "He is... Difficult. Annoying."

At length, the hellhound moved his gaze onto Guy. This one smelled like food, but he figured he shouldn't eat him because Vayth seemed to need him. As far as K was concerned, Guy belonged to Vayth and he had manners enough not to touch.

"What about him?"
PostPosted: Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:07 pm

Guy didn't have a clue what Altar was talking about. Oh well. He leaned against a tree as the other seemed to have calm down, putting all the materials back in his vast assortment of pockets.

"Hm. I dont think he's quite realized what he is yet. The book did say they don't need sexual intimacy in their first stages. I'm assuming he gets his energy somehow from a contract with me.. But I'm not quite sure how the details work out yet." Guy admitted, quite unknowledgeable about his own kid. Not that anyone would believe how Vayth had come out to be anyways. If Guy said it aloud, it would sound ridiculous.

--------------

Hm. Confusing answer. Did that mean K was still confused?

"Thanks for the advice." Vayth grinned, nodding as he acknowledged the advice. "So you both have a mutual dislike for each other. That sounds comfortable." Vayth said dryly, his words were sarcastic. The guy seemed difficult. But smart. Hm. He noticed K's gaze on his own guardian, the question predictably following the gaze.

"He's my guardian. Nice one. A little mysterious and odd but you'll always have a few laughs with him." He summed up Guy in simple words.. mainly because there were no complicated words. Guy was just a simple man. Nothing more, nothing less.

"I gotta go for a dinner now. You seem like you better get home too. Try to find out what you did to get on his bad side, why don't you? That seems like it might clear some things up. Humans always have a reason. Even if it's a stupid one." Vayth said, the words drew a grin from his guardian, overhearing their conversation.

That was an even odder explanation than what Altar thought he went through. Casting a doubtful look at Guy, the redhead neglected to reply until the car he had called earlier pulled up in the vacant lot to the west.

"Well..." Boy, was he glad K wasn't an incubus. That would serve to be very awkward, as if it wasn't bad enough that the pup was destructive as hell to begin with. Which got Altar's train of thoughts until K's potential sex drive...-- No, better not think about that. Not at all.

"My car's here, so we'll be on our way. Thanks for your help, and .. good luck with your kid."
Waving his injured hand slightly to illustrate what he was talking about, the redhead nodded his appreciation before going over to the sleek white vehicle.

---

"It... is?" K frowned, not seeing anything comfortable about it. The hellhound quite liked his sanctuary but when the master was home, things usually take a turn for the worse.

"... Okay."
At length, the hound managed to lag out his reply. He didn't understand the point of it all. If Altar bothered him enough, he'll just eat him-- simple as that, right? There wasn't really much of a point figuring out why the keeper was in a bad mood. That was kind of like trying to figure out why cats were so nervous around him. They just were.

"Remember... To tell me what you are. When you find out."
With those final words, the pup headed after Altar. He was fast in his movements, quite a contrast from when he spoke. It might possibly have been the fact that Altar was already closing the door before K slipped in, almost as if the redhead had been trying to lock him out.
