Rafe and Elena walked into the headmistress's office. They stood behind a little girl who looked to young to be at the school. The room was tense Rafe stood behind the little girl as Elena stood there her arms crossed her lips in a strait line. They both looked at Rafe and Elena as they stood there. Rafe gave them is go easy smile " um... where here to enroll " he said giving the headmistress a smile then winked at the girl in front of him.

Maria handed over her paperwork. She was thinking to herself, Don't cry! Don't cry! don't cry! She looked down at her feet, trying to hide the tears that were welling up.

Mayu was in no big hurry to arrive at the school. She looked up at the building and her hair blew in front of her face. She brushed it aside and walked around the school, getting a feel for it. Her stomach was doing flip-flops. Mayu pulled out a sketch pad and drew a bird sitting on a branch. She sighed and closed her book as she seen a sign with big letters saying "HEADMISTRESS." Mayu shook her head and opened the door, walking in. She almost ran into the person in front of her and she stood there, waiting paiently.

Already three more student piled into her office. Luckily her room was fairly large. Taking the paper from Maria she glared at the other three students. "I am very disappointed not one of you knock or stopped to see if I was already with some one else!" Her eyes were filling with fiery. "Rafe and Elena, sit over there." Pointing to a couch that had very fluffly looking throw pillows on it. "Mayu you there." A chair was seated next to the couch. The students had a dumb look on there face, probally wondering how she knew their names. Returning to her office seat and looked over Maria's paperwork. "Mmm...you are in Room A2. Your roommate is..." She flipped the paper over. "Elena."

Maria took her papers back and quickly left the room, her face streaming. She dropped to the floor just outside the Headmistresses office. "Why am I crying? Stop crying!" She said to herself.

Mayu raised her eyebrows and sat on the couch indicated. She forgot to knock and now she was scared shitless that she didnt. She stiffled a yawn and crossed her legs, pulling out her sketchpad. She started to draw the boy across from her.

Rogue adjusted her messenger bag and sighed. Rummaging through her bag, she fished out the map. Gosh, it was such a huge school.....
What did they need all the space for??
Her thoughts were interrupted by an arm around her shoulders and she didn't have to look to know that it was her best friend, and cousin, Generation.
"Do I have to meet the Headmistress? You make her sound like she'll eat me as soon as she sets her eyes on me...." She grumbled as she pulled her worn gray beanie further down her dark locks.
Gen chuckled. "You're tough, you'll get through."
They were arrriving at the Headmistress' office, Rogue noticed a girl sitting besides the door, crying.
Her eyes widened and she quickly kneeled down next to the crying girl.
"H-hey! Are you okay??"
She gave a slight glare at Gen. "And you said she wasn't that scary....."

"I'm fine!" Maria snapped, wiping her face with an arm and standing up to her full height of 4' 6." She looked away from the other girl. "What's it to you anyway?" She asked. She held back from using her Telepathy on the girl, though she wanted to. She wasn't sure why though, she'd probably only hear, "My god, she's so short/cute/puny," so on and so forth.

Rogue stepped back from the girl, eyebrow raised.
"You didn't have to be so snappy about it, geez."
What a way to start the first day of school. Way to go, kiddo.
She shook her head and glared at Gen.
Shuddap. I just wanted to help.
Gen shrugged.
She turned her attention to the other girl and got up.
"Well, since you're 'fine' now, I'll leave you to it." She answered back coldly and grabbed Gen's arm, wrapping her fingers around so tightly that he winced. "Let's go."
"Alright, alright! Now can blood flow through my arm now? Ow."

"I'm sorry...I thought you were gonna start treating me like a little kid, everyone does," Maria said, "I'm a lot older than I look." Maria sighed, Today's really sucked. She turned back around and Looked up at the girl, "I'm Maria Aran, ex-lab rat."

Rogue stopped and turned back to the girl, Maria.
"Ex?"
She let go of her cousin's arm and he let out a breath of relief as he felt blood flow through his arm again.

"They uh... deemed me a failure," Maria said with a slight smile. She remembered back to that day. She was only six.

Maria was sitting in an isolation cell, she had just thrown a tantrum because she was tired of being poked and prodded by the various scientists. She had started a fire that severely burned several orderlies. Dr. Wayne walked into her cell, escorted by two of the burly men. One was carrying a fire extinguisher, the other a tranq gun. Maria glared at them. Dr. Wayne walked over the the little girl balled up in the corner. He bent down and spoke to her in a gentle voice that he had perfected of his years of working with "special" children, "Maria, you're not going to live here anymore, you're going to live with a nice family, you're going to go to school and be with normal little boys and girls." Wayne got up and said something to the orderly with the gun. The last thing she remembered for a few hours was the sting in her shoulder.

Failure..... Rogue winced. God, she hated that word.

Generation noticed the slight flinch from Rogue at the word 'Failure'. He knew she hated it. She always wanted to be the best, at the top. Failure was something she didn't want to see or hear.

Maria noticed the flinch too. She wondered why. "Well, I guess I should go to my dorm now... maybe we can swap stories sometime." She started to leave then stopped again. "Oh, I didn't get your name," she said.
