Kyou saw all the kids milling about, interacting, and wondered how long Saburi's attention would hold. How ironic, that name, one really did have to have an endless well of patience to keep up with her. Thankfully her parents did, and he was slowly learning that it was less tiring to just go along with her.
"Hey, Saburi, I think someone is waving to you." He pointed out rather bored, stooping down to one knee to look his little sister in the eye. "Why don't you go over there and say hi? I'll go pick out Tessa's pumpkin, and you can help me with yours and mom's."
Saburi, having spotted Mel upon Kyou's observation, beamed at her brother and gave an energetic nod. "Kay!" She could be very sweet, she just happened to be a little... easily distracted. Giving her brother one more parting smile she turned and made her way towards Mel and Cheche with a light perk in her step.

Ariel didn't really know what "a good one" constituted, as far as pumpkins went. She inspected the possibilites with a small frown of concentration and then finally turned towards the two children who were nearest.
"How do you know which one to pick?" She asked Nazrin and Will, who both seemed excited and who, she presumed, knew more about it than she did.

Oblivious to Melany's discomfort over her wackadoo appearance and demeanor, Cheche continued chattering about costumes and pumpkins. "Princess, cool! There's this nice guy that lives next to us and I bet I could tell him to make a lanturn," she added. "Or a firefly! He'd do it too!" She waved at Saburi as the other girl approached. "D'you know where to get pretty pum'kins?" she asked. It was unclear as to who she was speaking to, mostly because the little girl didn't care who answered. The idea of firefly pumpkins had been planted in her mind and Cheche's mind was still kind of one-track.

"I think a flower lanturn would be prettier," Melany commented absently. Yes, she'd make mommy make their pumpkin a flower. "Or a butterfly." Butterflies were also pretty. She wasn't too keen on fireflies...they wre pretty from far away, but up close they were icky, with all their legs and little black bodies.
"I think we just go look for one...Momma got this place for us, I think the pumpkins are ours," Melany explained, although she didn't understand it completely. She had misunderstood some of it, obviously, but most of it was pretty spot on. That's what you got for being around adults like her mother and father all the time...it meant she didn't understand many kid things though. She didn't spend much time with other kids.
"Have you gotten a pumpkin before?" She asked Saburi.

Secretly psyched that they got to talk to the girl with the awesome eyes, Will looked at the pumpkins again. "A big one," he said brightly. "To cut into a really scary face." Vera had promised them each a big pumpkin, and having passed a few Jack o' Lanterns on the way to the pumpkin patch, he knew he wanted a really big, really nice, really scary one.
"Maybe not really scary," Nazrin added nervously. In case the other girl was scared, of course. "Mommy said we can make pie, too." The prospect of yummy dessert was more exciting than carving anything into scary faces.
But maybe not everyone wanted a big one to make into pie AND scary faces. "What are you gonna do with yours?" she asked curiously. Maybe the reason they had so many pumpkins was so people could do different things with them. "Pie, or faces, or something new?"

Ariel thought about the question for a moment. "Mister Bubbles didn't say." She eventually responded, and then gave them both a pleasant smile. "But I think it would be fun to make a face in a pumpkin. I didn't know you could eat them." She added, her voice reproachful at Gustav's apparent ignorance.
