"I'm not by myself, though," Maddie argued when she was reminded, again, that she wasn't supposed to wander around by herself. She knew it, she often ignored it, but today she was not actually alone. She had another lion with her and whether or not daddy realized it, he had put much more mind to safety than she had. She sighed when he said they might have been killed going up the mountain, and made a face when Nyota's attention went from her to the stranger and she finally learned his name. Sado. She listened as he explained where he was from, why he was here and how she had caught his attention. She was beaming, then, and didn't even mind as he apologized and took the blame for what had happened.
"See?" she jumped in, looking at her father when Sado finished, "He's perfectly friendly."

"I know the Pridelands," he said, though he didn't choose to elaborate how. If the male had been from the lands, an adult with only part of his body covered in tattoos would have done well enough to mark him as rogue-born. Still, if the male was from the Pridelands, he hoped that said enough about his character. Even he knew they were a rather nice pride. He did also quite understand the allure of the pride, of females covered in tattoos, the majesty.
"Next time, maybe you'll think more carefully about your decisions," he said with a frown, his tail whipping behind him, "the mountains are no play place for anyone." He turned his eyes to his daughter, her words not lost upon him, and tried to think of what Tsi would say. Be easy on her, probably.
"Bring him to the clan, your mother will want to see him," he said finally, settling for indifference.

Sado wasn't quite sure what else to say. He had done the best that he could, and so he merely offered another respectable bow to the father of the girl that had quite well...made him an idiot, really. He peeked a glance at her, and smiled. Well, even if he was an idiot, he was a pretty happy one.
Hopefully he could learn more. If he survived this meeting of Maddie's mother. If she was anything like his own mother? He was in deeeep trouble.
The mention of clan was interesting, though. It seemed that this pride was almost as complex as the tattoos they bore. His ears perked forward, a little more interest in this meeting, as that would mean he would learn more about this pride that always seemed to have new things pop up like flowers.

Maddie smiled at her father when he continued warning them about the mountains and then agreed to take Sado to meet her mother. She had no worries about it, she was completely convinced of Sado's character and she couldn't think of a reason to doubt it. She smiled at Sado once more and then hopped around to lead the way back home.
"OK!" she said brightly, for once sticking to something and not wandering off for some distraction, "Let's go!" It was a surprise for her to realize how much fun you could have if you stopped thinking about so many things all at once and just stuck to what you had. She rather liked it.
