Yeah. This girl I know who had her son a few months before Naaman. Her newborn would only sleep in his car seat carrier for like the first three months. Naaman wouldn't sleep in his crib hardly. But, in california, I had bought a bassinet, and he slept in that just fine most of the time.

I don't know. When I had naaman, I had so little support from my family for being unmarried. Due to this, I didn't get hardly anythign decent at my shower. Then, I was really low income when naaman was born. And, then all that moving around... sweatdrop

If I ever do have another one, I totally know everythign I'm doing to get ready.

I personally had a diaper genie at one point.. but, it stopped spinning the diapers like it was supposed to. I thought something alive got in it because the bags would unswirl on their own.. but, when we dumped it nothing was in it. It was freaking me out, so I threw it away. Next time, I would use a diaper champ. I would also get a breast pump way in advance and start expressing and freezing milk soon as it starts coming in if it did a little before i was having the baby.

Yeah. I think the great thing about nowadays as far as baby purchases go. So many items are made to have multiuses. Like pack and plays I referred to before having changing stations and bassinets. Bathing station from summer has the sling, infant/toddler tub, it moves to a sitting up position, AND it comes with a really nifty little shower bucket/shower head thingie. It is very cool, so even when your child outgrows the little tub. You can still use the shower part. The shower is very gentle as well. Also, there are lots of new things out in the way of padding you can get ofr your knees and elbows. I don't have them cuz babys r us is too far, and close by stores charge a lot for them. Still, if you can find/afford them, they are wonderful as no matter how good of shape you're in. Hutching over hte side of the tub is never great, especially if you get a child who dirties easily and needs baths daily.

Naaman only needs a bath once a week now. But, during the summer, he gets them every 2 days.

Um, there are some great cd players/nature sounds machines out there you can attach to the crib. I personally find the nature sounds to be fabulous. The sound of rain or a rushing river are always sleep inducing sounds.

I know when people make registries at work. When we print up their copy, it also prints up a list of everything they didnt' add to their list htey may want to consider. Only problem with it... is say you register for a travel system which comes with an infant car seat, base, and stroller. However, if you were to say instead register for all three items seperately, it would say you didn't have a travel system. rolleyes So stupid...

Another great way to organize your stuff once people start packing on the gifts to you. Cuz, you get gifts at the shower, and you might also find you get a lot of gifts during your few days after the baby is born. I know a lot of family who missed my shower [ due to infamily fighting and people not wanting to come cuz so and so did]; when I had naaman, they came to see us at hte hospital bearing all sorts of gifts. Some people waited till the normal flurry of visitors calmed down a week or two later. Then, they came with lots of stuff i didn't even ask for.

Now, one thing that is multiuse that I found a pain was the 6 way adjustable carrier. PFft... it came with a video tape, but i didn't own a vcr. It was sooo hard to get the straps all right. I would just go with somethng easy, simple. Cuz, when you are sleep deprived, and you have a million things to do. You will want simplicity to help things along.

Digressing to organization. I used to buy lots of small gallon rubbermaid totes. If you get lots of nipples, socks, or some such item in large quantities. Just put them all in same tote, and label it. This helps save room in teh closet. I had to help a friend do this because she had 2 showers, one of which had over 100 people at it. They had baby stuff everywhere. surprised
