"Good to hear that... I think I like them, too, hell, it'd be really lonely without them around. Sometimes I can't help but feel really strange though..." so different. It's silly, really.

"Heh.... 'Mice, Rabbits, you all nibble and squeak so it's all the same'. That's what miss Timka always says."
he chuckled, but somehow it diodn't sound all that cheerful. "And then she remarks that you can at least eat bunnies, though. So mean." sigh. That's just her, eh.

"La? You mean Crux, right?"
perceptive, or just guessing? At any rate Misha hadn't forgotten how close they seemed back at the Ball, and word did spread around. "Having a tovarish really does help, but I suppose it's hard to find one."

"I do feel different around them at times, but I know I am different. Farstep helps to fit in a bit. People don't think I'm as strange there," Zia laughed. "Rabbits, are pretty good to eat. You probably don't want to hear that, though. And you can eat rats. I know Fao has a few times when he was younger and the carnival wasn't doing as well." The younger Essentic shrugged, then sighed. "Yes, I mean him. He's been gone so long. He came back, but it was so brief he might not have even really been there."

"Even with people I know I feel off sometimes... And now miss Timka's sister seems to think she can just ogle me all day, too. Heck I'm not some sort of an exotic pet." Blargh, females. xP Maybe she wouldn't be as bad if she'd just stop trying to touch his tail. I know it's fluffy. WATCH IT FROM AFAR ANYWAY.

"I know they're tasty... Can't change facts, I just don't like the idea. 's Not anyone's fault though."
Nah, I'm not too bothered, I know you're not trying to tease me. "But rats, too? I've only read about rat-eating in a scary story once." brr.

Ah, yes. He'd vaguely heard of Trystan's longer escapades, whatever the man was fiddling with lately. "Life does it to one. At least he should be fine though." Still sucks that you have to miss him like that. Job comes first.

"I didn't know Timka had a sister," Zia remarked, head poking up a bit. "Fao doesn't like to talk about things like that, you know. Farstep's pretty successful, but it's been through some hard times, too, and people have to eat." Again it shrugged. "I don't doubt he's alright, but I'd rather him be alright here. It's hard to watch Lauss and Rhian sometimes. Makes it painfully aware how alone I am."

"Neither did I... she just showed up one day. Apparently she'd got a whole bunch of siblings that are scfattered all over the place. They're not actually related though, which is strange... Kimberley's her name, and she calls miss Timka 'Timmie' all the time." Blather blather, I could yammer about this all day, trust me.

"Being alone's hard, yes..."
I feel for you, sibling-mine. He knew quite exactly what it meant. "Even surrounded by a lot of people sometimes you just feel left out. It's not something you can help... You've thought about meeting others of us, and others in general I'm sure. Not always easy..."

By now they were starting to near the mountain range outpost, the elevation was poking up on the horizon already. Misha adjusted his course almost impreceptibly, so they'd swerve around the tip of the spike. "The entrance to the laboratory's right behind the tip right there."

"I don't feel left out because there's so many around. I feel lonely because the one I care about is so far away," Zia pouted then looked to where Misha was indicating. "Doesn't seem like there'd be a lab here. Strange place for one."

"You wouldn't want people to crowd around the place where we all came from, or would you? They'd destroy it if they ever found it..." Let's not forget we're still worth no more to the law than banned weaponry or child porn. Yeergh.

"Also the laboratory itself isn't even there at all, just the way in."
Now that made him chuckle. Oh yes, there was something pretty neat about all of it.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:15 am

"This is where we came from?" Zia asked, looking up at the place with much curiosity.

"I just told you the actual laboratory isn't here." he chuckled, speeding along the massive walls of jagged rock gaining height quickly beside them now. "Oh look, there's the entrance!" They'd just bypassed the tip of the spike, so now it was just a short way to go left.

Speeding up another knot or two, Misha covered the final end in a smooth pull, then started slowling down, and made a small spiral loop to end up right in front of a.. pretty ominous-looking cavernous-looking door. It was at least four times the size of a regular human, and the heavy clayrack doors were opened just lsightly. Their texture made them quite impossible to see from out on the wasteland, and hidden under the straight-up mountain wall, from up top they weren't visible either.

Finally coming to a halt, Misha carefully let Ziazan slide off his back, and stretched out. "Alright... Do you want to wait here for a minute or do you want to come in? Nothing big to see really..."
PostPosted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:23 am

"Um, I'll wait here," Zia said, sitting down on a nearby outcrop of rocks. "It's rather pretty around this area. Do what you need to. I'll just take in the scenery."

"There's... dust, and rocks, and more rocks... but it's a nice day, sure. I won't take long~!"

Talking about solitude and loneliness earlier... This place was a nice reflection of it. The forest further West had only started to reclaim its territory, almost nothing grew here. Misha'd gotten used to the eerie quiet here, give or take an eagle's cry every now and then, but to Zia it might be something new. The rocks had many stories to tell, but a common factor all over was that only preciously few humans had ever walked here.

Leaving it to its own devices for a moment, Misha skipped inside the gargantuan passage, to go and fix whatever it was he exactly came here for. Indeed it wasn't long before he came back out, looking only slightly less cheerful than a minute or two before. Nobody likes bringing negative tidings.

"Aaah, there we go. Believe it or not, I'm done for today." Teehee, lucky me. "I was thinking about taking you back around, closer to the actual mountain, if you feel like it... It's all much prettier up close."

Zia admired the rough beauty of its surroundings while waiting for Misha. True there weren't many stories in the rocks, but it still appreciated the landscape. As the other Essentic returned, Zia stood up, nodding to its suggestion. "That sounds good."

With a cheerful nod, Misha went over and settled Zia on his back again. A moment later, they were off again full tilt. Doesn't thing bunny EVER stand still?

It didn't take long to sweep around the spike-tip again, and from then on, Misha linked off from his autopilot. Boldly going where no rabbit had ever gone before, no target to be found this time. Good times.

"Just tell me if there's anything you want to check out from closer-by yes? I'm aware I tend to speed over things much too fast." he almost had to yell to get over the wind now. Another reason for staying away from the mountain's flanks.

They were headed for the bend in the range when suddenly, something seemed to alert them. Not in any physical sense, but a sudden front of... something seemed to have dawned. Misha slowed down, frowning confusedly, his nose twitching as if he was trying to get a snuff of whatever was calling out to them.

Well, that sure felt familiar to him...

"I trust you to know what's best to see out here," Zia said, voice raised over the wind. It had no idea what all was out here and trusted Misha to show it around.

".... I'm not all-knowing, but.. I sure as hell want to find out where that signal's coming from..." he sped up again loosely, his brush flaring up with a starting agitation. Curving around to head ever closer to the flanks and eventually scaling the first heights on the gradual incline, he homed in onto the origin of that odd, unexpected vibe.

"Can you feel that, too?" It was almost as if there was another essentic around... but if there was, it had to be a pretty big one, eheh. Whoop, watch out there, the rubble isn't fixed into the ground, don't slip now, bunbuns.
