Ai turned at the sound of the happy voice declaring that he'd found something. He gazed up at the one who appeared with a giant, in comparison to Ai himself, pumpkin and the boy gave a giggle, "Wow! That one is big." He chirped, looking it over. It wasn't the sort he was looking for even if size wise it was quite impressive. He wasn't sure exactly what he was searching for but he knew for certain that he would know it when he saw it, "Are you going to paint on your pumpkin too?" He asked, always one for conversation though even as he spoke with the new comer he was still holding onto Kabocha's hand, unconsciously wanting to stick close to him and not share him.

Ai watched as Nate left as quickly as he'd come, tilting his head to the side before all of his attention was once more given solely to Kabocha instead. He gave him a smile and followed the path in which his friend was pointing before he gave a nod, "Alright, lets see if our perfect pumpkins are over there." He said, happy to start in that direction once again.

There were less people over here, he guessed it had something to do with how long and entangled the vines of the pumpkin plants seemed to be in this area. He held on tightly to his friend and was careful to pick his way between the trailing vines, not wanting to chance stepping on them as he'd feel guilty over that. He gave a giggle, "Its light a maze, there must be good pumpkins out here if the vines are trying so hard to keep us out." He said, sounding determined and excited.

It reminded him somewhat of the Sleep Beauty story, except there weren't sleeping princess out here so much as there were even more pumpkins.

Ai was careful as he made his way through the thicker vines to the area that seemed to be free of any other shoppers at the moment. He looked over to Kabocha then around the are and his smile seemed to brighten, "There are lots of good looking ones here." He said after a moment of studying what there was to be had. It would seem that nobody wanted to fight through the trailing vines to get to this area. It was a good thing though, it meant that they were going to get first pick of the the pumpkins!

He trotted forward between the different vegetables, running his hands over them, seeming to be inspecting them before he finally found the pumpkin, the one that he had to have! He gave a happy sound, kneeling down next to it, and ran his hands over it before he looked over at his companion, "I rather like this one." He said happily, giving it a hug.

Ai gave a little grunt as he picked up his pumpkin, not exactly the stronger man alive, and looked it over, giving it a pleased smile. He walked over to Kabocha to look over what his friend had and gave it a little nod, "Ooo, yours is very nice too!" He agreed, smiling brightly. So long as the pumpkin stayed in one piece, meaning him being careful and not dropping it, he was certain that he would rather enjoy it. While it felt a little heavy he could deal with that so long as it meant his getting this perfect vegetable all to himself to decorate.

"Should we go to look for our guardians now so we can make them get us our treats?" He asked of his companion, recalling that after they found their pumpkins they were gonna look for pie.
