Hey guys! I'm Jodi. I'm kinda just learning about Chaos Magick now but I've been a practicing Pagan for 11 years. I'm really looking forward to learning more about all the aspects of Chaos because I've always been kind of afraid of it (due to all the negative associations with it). I think at times I have unknowingly tapped into it, unable to put a name on what it was I was doing. I'm an Aquarius so I HAVE to analyse everything and know why "this does this" and "that is that". lol So, to make a long story short, I'm very excited to have found this guild! biggrin

Hi, I'm Grant Morrison, you may have heard of my comic book The Invisibles... just kidding.
This account is actually a mule, I'm a somewhat infamous individual among some circles on Gaia. If you've heard of me, it would have likely been as Spider_Jerusalem. Anyway now that the big bad secret is out of the way, here's the story of me and Chaos Magic.
So yeah, I'm one of them, the ones that read The Invisibles but it's a bit more complicated than just that. It all started when Grant Morrison's new event started, Seven Soldiers of Victory. You see I'm a casual Zatanna fan, have been for a while, so when I heard that Zatanna was going to be one of the seven, I got excited despite never having read a Grant Morrison comic book before. I discussed the comic with some fans of Morrison who brought up several other of his comics including Doom Patrol and The Invisibles. A short time later, fate intervened and I was given the opportunity to read We3, which I did and loved it. This got me exploring more Morrison until I started to hear about The Invisibles and it's legendary letters page. I talked to a handful of people that had read it when it was first being published, and they talked about how the comic and the letters page had fundametally altered them and caused interesting things to happen. This was my first brush with the word "hypersigil".
Not content to read it in trade, I sought out scans of the comic that included the letters page, and sure enough interesting things have been happening to me since then, including pursuing magic. The funny thing about it is that while I was reading the comic (I haven't finished it yet), I realized something; that it was almost as if there was some force or phenomenon that had been actively guiding me towards The Invisibles since I was fifteen (I'm twenty-one). That force, whatever it is, is still at work in my life as I picked up the trades of Alan Moore's Promethea and Warren Ellis' Global Frequency from the library while I was waiting for Phil Hine's Condensed Chaos to get to the new age bookstore I ordered it from. Without knowing much of anything about either series going in, I was shocked to find that Global Frequency included several interesting tidbits about postmodern magic philosophy and Promethea is built around western esoteric tradition, largely the Hermetic tradition, including a journey through an astral representation of the Tree of Life and an entire issue dedicated to the cards of the Tarot.
Shortly after that I paid a visit to the book store to find a book on a different magic tradition, in order to choose a paradigm. I picked a book called "Learning Ritual Magic" that billed itself as being a training course for solitary magic practice designed to provide a solid grounding in the techniques of high magic and just felt like the right book for me to get. I also decided to pick up a tarot deck on a whim, not knowing it's significance to the Hermetic tradition or that it was the source of the comic I had just read. When I got home and started reading it I almost fell out of my chair because everything was so familiar and it even told me to go out and get a tarot, which I had just done without realizing I'd need it.
There is something out there, I don't know if it's a physical force, an entity, or my subconsious, that wants me to become a mgaician and I've decided to listen to it.

Hi my name is Gohlycos but I go by the magic alias Achreus. I'm also called the Slacker Mage because I rather practice magic than getting a job. I'm 25 years old and I work as a freelance cartoonist. I'm a Pisces born in the year of the Monkey so that makes me a celestial sea monkey.
Nice to meet ya! cool

Hey, I go by Nihl, or Seraph. Practicing(ish) pagan of 3 years (4 if you count a in-and-out year of ceremonial magick), I'm intersted in Chaos Magick. But I only have a vague sort of idea that may or may not be true. So I'll probably ask a lot of questions that may or may not force you to think.
So yeah, I'm here to learn.

I joined awhile ago, but I keep forgetting to post on intro...so I think it's about time I do.
I'm a 21 year old college student, currently majoring in Electrical Enginnering. I've been interested in paganism since I was about 11 or 12, and have been reading and studying on and off since then. About two years ago I became a member of ADF, and even though I let my membership lapse for now I'm still working on their dedicant program. Now ADF and Chaos magick don't exactly mix...but my friend who got my into ADF is also a Discordian, and well...it's contagious, no seriously. I never wanted to be a Discordian...it worked for him, but it definetly wasn't my idea of fun...but Eris rubbed off on me, and now she's here to stay.
I haven't read all that much on Choas Magick, I get easily distracted. I knit...and have a very large slight yarn obsession. That and school and homework get in the way. But I love learning of any kind. So hopefully I'll stick around here and learn something.

People around here just cal me Maru.
I'm interested in any sort of unnatural practices, as I'm familiar with some already, but am intent to learn as much as I can in this lifetime.
I train astrally every night, and have been doing so for many months. I hold a few titles, and when it comes to the astral/metaphysical beings, I've got connections.
I suppose the reason this topic draws my interest is that I have a lot of raw energy, and am just trying to find an outlet. (Raw talent as in.... My first AP, though I only got out half way, I could shape shift perfectly, and shortly after I managed to go sub-solid, though I've yet to do it agin...)
I love the arts, in all areas, and involve myself with them frequently. My art site is www.marubaii.deviantart.com/gallery
That's all for now, and thanks for letting me be a part of this guild.

Hi. I'm Confused...I mean...Blair...well, yes, I'm also confused.
What is going on? x.x
Okay, a bit about myself, yes. I'm almost 19, and I'm a terrible skeptic. I have faith in only two things: Balance, and potential. I am just finishing (I hope) my first year of engineering and I hope to specialize in computer/electrical engineering next year. I have a wicked-awesome imagination. I've looked into discordianism and all kinds of alternative religions, but nothing has really suited my fancy (though discordianism did come close.) I'm here because...I don't remember why I'm here. I blame Greenling.

Introductions? WHOOF. sweatdrop Ok, uhh... I am a HS sophmore with a *weird* ethnic and religious background. I am European/Caribbean (im weird about giving out this kinda info online) and Roman Catholic/Atheist respectivlly. But thats what I was born into. I myself have adopted a Neo-Pagan approach to spirituality in that i dont worship or accept the dogma, docterine, or pathenon of Judeo-Christian religions. I never liked the idea that God had to let his son be slaughtered on a cross to save humanity (i dont care how its interpreted or explained, i think it is wrong).
My Ideas (i wont call them beliefs) in Short: arrow I do not accept any predetermined and universal "right" or "wrong", "good" or "evil". There is only what a man can feel at peace with himself doing, and what he cannot. This is as individual as the members of the human race, and so there can be no dogma.
arrow I think that all deities exist that have been identified by man in every pathenon-otherwise they would not be. They exist as man has documented and believed, whether onmipresent or in their own little world, and are as each religion has believed them to be. I simply do not honor them or worship them because i do not find them to be a part of my life.
now if they bump me with a cosmic clue-by-four, thats a whole nother story.
arrow I think that everything in the multiverse is energy. When we are born, our energy is "reformatted" (for lack of a better term) to what we call "earthly". When we die, we are converted to another form of energy depending on our life experiences and markings on our energy signature. We could ascend to another level, we could stay there (wherever that is), we could be reincarnated, we could decend. It realy depends.
Chaos magic appeals to me because it has no set system, no boundries no dogma, nothing limiting, really. All it seems to take is my mind and my perseverence. It is a magickal system where i really need my own experience in order to do anything (exactly what i need; i am good at researching, not at doing, so since i have to start doing, ill gain some initiative. sweatdrop )
I hope Ill be welcome here, and im glad i can come and learn. thank you!

Hey all. Name's Greth.
Clearly. ><
I've been studying chaos magic off and on for the past two or so years, and working it a little longer than that (not having a name for it at that point). I find a lot of the more traditional techniques (sigils in particular) as working rather differently for me than others, but hey, we'll see.
Hopefully I can contribute!
