Racardo’s heart was fluttering, his stomach grumbling and moving uncomfortably as a sensation he didn’t recognise took over. It was only made worst when her soft and delicate feathers touched his face guiding him closer and closer to her. He wanted to panic and run away but how could he, he was no coward and he had asked for this. A soft gulp left his lips just as he prepared to kiss her, what if he was no good? Closing his eyes he felt his senses heightened, could hear their hearts beating faster and faster, could feel her breath ruffling the fur on his nose gently. And then it happened. His lips touched hers as she embraced him with a soft and delicate kiss- one that he couldn’t help but return. Her lips where so soft and moist and he felt like he could get lost in this moment forever. Yet as quickly as it happened it was over and he found himself free of her hold once more.
A slight loneliness filled him but was quickly replaced by intrigue as he watched her. She seemed a little flustered and before she covered her mouth with her wing he was sure that he saw a glimpse of a smile. Cheeks blushing as well but with no means to cover them he simply stood their and watched her with a cheeky grin peeled upon his face. His mind continued to play the kiss over and over again, it was his first outside of his family.
Coughing slightly he tried to gain some composure again, especially when she spoke once more. "Well I must say I like that type of reward." And that was clear simply because the smile upon his face refused to fade or lessen.
"So... em..." He looked to the ground a little, knowing that once they ate they would have no real reason to stay together, his thoughts rushing and twirling as he tried to think of a reason to keep her with him. "...em..." Finally an idea came to him, raising his head once more with a cheeky grin peeled upon his face. "Would you like to join me to collect flowers for my Mothers den after breakfast?" It was true that he liked to take his mother flowers, they always seemed to bring a smile to her face and remind her of the sun- they seemed to be the only things she really liked about the day, the night was always her favourite and he remembered sitting with her for hours just watching the stars twinkle above while she explained them as a youth.
Of course they needed breakfast. Turning to look at the red apple tree he stood up tall, his head just falling short of the lower fruit. Moving backwards a little he prepared to take a running jump at the fruit. Counting down he lowered his body softly to allow him to jump higher- three, two, one! As soon as one reached his mind his body leaped into life and he jumped forward, opening his mouth in preparation to capture the fruit before he allowed it to close. The fruit crunched under his strength and pulled free as he started his descent back towards the ground. Landing with a soft thump he turned towards Ella, a proud glint in his eyes and he lowered the fruit to her feet. He spoke in a gentle voice, "Breakfast is served M’lady"

Goodness, her sister would never ever believe her if she told her she'd gotten a kiss! Her sister could have already had hers, but she was so completely devoted in her warrior training that it wouldn't surprise her if she hadn't. Fluttering like mad, her heart still raced against her chest to the dismay of her bruises....lips tingling as the blush refused to fade.
For a moment she too wondered after they dined on the delicious looking apples hanging from the trees above them what would become of her companion. Surely he had things to do today, and with that thought dampened her spirits for but a brief second before he proposed a very sweet idea. Fighting back the coo which wanted to come out, it was almost thrilling to know he valued family like she did. Never could she just...run away to live a life devoid of her family. Despite their quirks, despite how strict it was...oh did she love her Daddy and Mommy, siblings and of course he extended family. So without a second thought she drew her wings back to her side and nodded eagerly...perhaps too much so. "I would love to!" Flowers didn't really work in her family...so usually her gifts had to come in the form of food or a perfect new spot to let her family train and relax. "I do know the perfect spot for lillies, if your mother likes them." It had to be her most frequent spot, the smell from the lillies was simply heavenly!
As Racardo lifted his gaze to the apples, likewise did Zaiella, did he plan on getting the apples? Surely if need be she could hoved long enough to grab a few apples without completely freaking...yet as he took a mighty leap she held her breath for a moment. She hoped he didn't hurt himself, or worse...pull a branch onto his head since he'd already demonstrated how he could get things out of trees. Upon the second try he snagged an apple and landed with a look in his eyes which continued to make her flush. He'd gotten that apple just for her, and of course probably showed off a bit while he did so.
It worked completely.
"T-thank you!" She sputtered for a moment when she'd forgotten to answer him right away as she stared, before dropping her head and taking a smaller bite out of the apple. Always dainty, yet she'd never been one to gobble her food like her family. Perhaps she just didn't need all that energy from food because she didn't do much.
After she had finished another bite, the little mare looked up at him and smiled sincerely. "Listen, Racardo. Thank you....for everything. Its been a great day so far, I haven't had one for a long time...." Looking to the ground for a moment, she chuckled softly. "Even if it didn't start out looking so good...so...yeah. Thanks!"

His smile softened as he tried to regain some sort of composure over himself, he was brought up to act like a gentleman after all and not like a blundering idiot- of course the latter was much easier to portray in his current mind set. Nodding his head at her agreement to join him to collect flower he felt a flutter within his stomach once more, it was an alien feeling that he didn’t know the meaning of and that scared him a little.
Coughing again to clear his throat and his thoughts he nodded again before speaking, his voice a little stronger than moments before but still gentle, it was obvious he was trying to impress her. "Lilies sound nice; I usually end up with roses and daisies." In all honesty Racardo wasn’t entirely sure what a Lilly looked like, having never seen one before- that meant they where likely to go somewhere he had never been before. Of course that didn’t scare him, he was always up for a challenge and as he looked at her, his cunning mind started to kick in once more; but the question that confused him was- why was he trying to impress the mare before him? Either way he was sure that she would appreciate the result of the plan that now began to form in his mind –how could she resist? A slightly cunning smile shimmered at the corner of his lips.
Holding his breath as she moved towards the fruit he collected he found himself hoping that she would enjoy it, he knew that his tooth grooves were probably not the most attractive things in the world but at least he had tried- right?
Nerves seemed to be taking over again so to distract himself he had to force his gaze away from her and turn his attention towards collecting his own breakfast. Jumping once more he managed to catch another piece of delicious fruit, but in his enthusiasm his jaw held on too tightly causing the fruit to crumble into two pieces sending a stream of juices running down his lower lip. The half not hidden within his mouth fell ungracefully to the ground and shattered into more pieces- great, now it looked like he played with his food. Chewing the mess of fruit in his mouth before swallowing he shook his head gently ashamed of himself before he lowered his head and started to slurp up the remains of the shattered fruit. At least it was delicious if not just a little messy. The juices and skin seemed to cling to his lips and face and as he raised his head once more and looked towards Ella he began the task of cleaning the mess that was once his face.
A sticky mess indeed.
"You’re welcome" he chimed; smiling softly while trying to remove the last scraps of apple from his face and teeth. He dreaded to think what she thought of him in that moment. Pathetic was the word that ran through his mind.
As she spoke again the bright red blush returned to his cheeks, so fiercely he was certain that the fur was beginning to become singed under the intense heat. "I..." he paused, not entirely sure how to respond to her kind words. As far as he was concerned he had done nothing extraordinary, he had simply been himself- and usually that got him into trouble so this was a pleasant change. "You have nothing to thank me for. It is I who should thank you beautiful Ella." He blushed a little more as he lowered his eyes to watch the hair around his hooves dance in the light breeze.
A soft sigh left his lips as he looked up once again, his smile returned and his blush began to fade as he found some small remain of his original composure. "I am just happy that you are safe and sound and not trapped in some tree somewhere." He winked at her a little before looking to the remains of the apple he had given her for breakfast, "was breakfast ok for you?"
"So.... lilies you say?" Slowly he moved towards her and positioned himself at her side, but as he turned his rump accidently knocked into Ella causing a soft blush to speckle his cheeks once more- what was it about this mare that seemed to make his very skin glow?

Roses....it had been a while since she'd seen them in her walks, yet usually the thorns deterred her from picking a few for maybe her mother to enjoy. There were many a flower out this time a year, yet she mostly frequented the lillies since it was far past the season for lillacs, her other favorite flower. She admired that he did such a nice thing for his mother as mostly just visits from their children was enough to light up her week....but daily gifts to his mom? Well, it warmed her heart to thing of it.
"Then I'm sure she will like them! They grow by this river down in the forest....its not too far of a journey, we'd probably be able to make it to her by high sun depending on where she is." Maybe longer, she wasn't quite sure where his family resided!
While she continued to eat the apple, her eyes were locked on the stallion as he proceeded to get an apple for himself. Watching his muscles as he propelled himself into the air to seize the apple for himself with...limited sucsess. Once his little plan backfired and he got a face full of juice and only half an apple, it took everything in the little mare from breaking out in a hearty laugh. Instead her sides shook a little from holding it in and diverted her eyes back to eating her apple before he could notice she was looking.
As Racardo began to adress her after cleaning up a bit, Zaiella politely shifted her gaze back to the large stallion, smiling despite how she wanted to giggle and blush. "I assure you I do!" He saved her from the tree afterall, and got her breakfast! Desperately she wanted to ask him what on earth he had to thank her for...but decided she would inquire about it later on. "You and I both..." Smiling cheerfully, she took the last bite of her apple with a flick of her tail...he wasn't pulling her leg when he'd said they were delicious! Apples had never tasted so good, but she assumed it was mostly due to the current company she had. "I've never had better! Never had breakfast and a show before..." Winking lightly in his cheeky mannor, she left that up to him to decipher what exactly she meant.
Oh wait. What was that! Cerulean eyes widened significantly as the bush of rump to rump came as a surprise to the mean...a pleasant one at that. The blush which she'd just managed to get rid of ignighted in a blaze once more in her cheeks as she had to divert her gaze for a moment. Was that on purpose!? No...it must have been a mistake, oh she just didn't know! She wished she could see into his mind...to know what he was thinking...yet wasn't that the universal question to mares anywhere about stallions? Nodding her head eagerly, upon looking back towards Racardo she took note of the chunk of apple just at the corner of his lips that he'd seemed to have missed.
Perhaps some of his cunning was beginning to rub off on her.
In an act totally out of her normal boundaries for her, the mare in turn moved closer as she leant against his side. Tossing her head up, she lipped off the piece of apple and swallowed it while her face was still on fire. Immediately she tossed her hair back and trotted off at a comfortable but determined pace. With her mind racing as fast as her heart, she called back to him as her pace led her towards the forest. "Come on now! Its this way!"

Despite the rosy blush that seemed to be permanently attached to his face today he actually enjoyed the sensation of being so close to her, of course when he felt her move beside him his heart began to race so quickly that he was sure at any moment it would explode or escape from his ribcage.
He was totally oblivious to the scrap of apple stuck at the side of his mouth, but that wasn’t the case for long as she gentled licked it off. He closed his eyes, unable to think of anything else to think or do.
How had she found the courage to come so close? Moments before she seemed so shy! Maybe he had misjudged her, or perhaps they where beginning to become friends? Did that change things?
GRR! Mares where so confusing, always changing the rules to suit them. But changing the rules was something of a speciality of Racardo’s, as his mother had discovered on many an occasion before- it was one of the reasons why he took her flowers, a way to say sorry for his recent trouble. Opening his eyes, a cunning glint flickering in his eyes as a wide smile sprawled itself upon his lips - his usual yellow pelt returning to normal with his sudden burst of confidence. In his mind he spoke the words, Challenge accepted.
Watching her rump move gracefully for a moment it took him a second to recognise her call and to summon movement to his muscles, but before long he was by her side once more.
Looking down at the dainty mare was an unusual sight indeed, her bright colours seemed to compliment his own and together they looked like the sky and the sun. Of course it was only right that the sun kiss the sky as it made its way across it. Taking a deep breath he stepped in front of her to stop her from escaping before lowering his head so that their eyes where level. "I believe that was my apple," he chuckled a little before moving closer, his lips closing in on hers BUT just before they came together he stuck out his tongue and gently licked her. "Of course it tastes so much better off you!" He winked softly before standing straight again and moving to stand beside her. "So... I guess we should get back to the original plan now?" Another soft chuckle left him before he gave her a cheeky wink, for some reason he was finding it easier to relax around her.
He was prepared to follow her to the lilies, and hoped that upon seeing them he would actually know what it was he was looking for.

Looking back as Zaiella continued to walk on ahead she'd never had a moment of such courage as that. She was one who could never say no when someone asked something of her, the one to always watch from the sidelines and of course....the third wheel. While those of her foalhood began to go off and have families of their own she'd stayed behind, returning to her parents every night while they'd return to their mates....it just became life that she'd entertain herself, explore alone...and generally just be alone. Never could she have the courage to be a warrior like her father and sister, and as much as she tried to pretend she was it just lying to herself. Trying to be someone she clearly wasn't.
So to steal that bit of apple from the side of Racardo's lips was something of a stretch for her, yet as the minutes passed she felt like he was someone she could trust. Maybe it was a bit of misguided naiveness, since she'd never experienced betrayal and hidden motives...but she wanted to believe with all her heart that she'd made a friend today. If Racardo hadn't already left her...did that mean he felt the same?
Nearly running right into the sunny stallion as he returned to her side and stopped her in her tracks, a confused look flickered over her face to question him...but the words never found life on her lips. Suddenly, she found herself eye to eye with him, noses nearly touching as she could feel the tickle of his breath on her fur. Could he hear how her heart suddenly pounded against her ribs, since it echoed so loudly in her ears? Closer and closer he got, and it caused the little mare to swallow hard....not even a whisper could come if she tried. At the last moment, when her heart was ready to give out came the cheeky lick...which if she hadn't been mentally aware she would have fallen over right then and there.
Chills ran down her spine, and for a moment she zoned out while he returned to her side once more. Oh god oh god oh god! Her mind raced to make any excuse to why he'd done that other than for some deep rooted crush...yet nothing could come to mind. How...how could she spend her life thus far dreaming of something like this happening and when she'd finally given up...Racardo finally came along! It wasn't like he'd given her any reason why it couldn't become a possibility?
Oh her heart was torn....was she willing to risk such a friendship for the possibilities of more? Wasn't it too soon to even been thinking of it....after only a morning with the stallion?
Why was stallions and emotions so difficult!?
"Y-yes...that would be i-ideal...." She stammered, but something seemed to immediately switch as her ears perked, becoming stioc and alert. Thanks to her inherited wings, she also was blessed with hawk like vision and tremendous hearing. Something wasn't right.... "I think someone's in trouble...I can hear yelling!" A bit frightened, she looked up to Racardo as if searching for the answer she already knew.

Racardo enjoyed watching her squirm, it gave him a strange feeling of delight and before he knew what he was doing he found himself formulating little plans to try and provoke more of her reactions- it was rather fun to experiment with his new friend.
As always he didn’t have long to contemplate such thoughts for something more urgent seemed to flicker to the surface, and although he could only hear a low whisper from this distance he had no way of distinguishing if it was a happy or distressed tone, it impressed him that the wind mare beside him could. Of course he had been told by his father through his fairy tale stories how all the different breeds held their own strengths, for him it was his sweet and leg power but that was likely because he could only rely on them to survive. Part of him was jealous.
Looking towards Ella for a moment, a soft friendly smile upon his face- different to his usual cheeky one. "Well I suppose we should go and see if we can be of assistance then?" And with that he took the gift that the God’s had given him and used all his strength to run towards the whisper. As he got closer the whisper turned from such to a course yelp for help. His heart strings tugged as memories came flooding back to him. One autumn as a young foal he had found himself trapped by fast swirling waters due to heavy rains and had no way of escaping- he was thankful that Maion and Wenopa hadn’t come to his rescue.---------------------------------------------------------
Renesme Carlie Cullen was an unusual foal, her delicate little wings far too small to support her in flight. With practise and a lot of help from her guardians Jasper and Alice she had learnt to glide upon the wind- but it seemed she still had a long way to go considering that was the reason she found herself in her current situation.
A small tear began to trickle down her cheek as panic started to settle within her heart. How could she have been foolish enough to venture away from the cave with her usual escorts? What if something dark and evil lurked within the forest watching her? She had been told storied of Skinwalkers and their relationship with the Angeni- but as a foal there was no way she would be able to do much if one came her way. Fear was starting to set in. Tears stumbling like a waterfall from her eyes. "HELP ME!" She called again and again until her little voice began to feel tender and hoarse. If only she didn’t have to be so stubborn... if only she listened. Why was it that such lessons were always learnt too late?
Feeling the hopelessness weigh down heavy upon her heart she looked around to assess her situation, somehow she had managed to glide upon the breeze to the centre of a raging river, the mud was soft from the rain the previous evening and thanks to the thick forest canopy it had not managed to dry under the heat of the morning sun. Slowly her hooves began to sink so that the ribbons and little wings around her ankles became coated in mud. YUCK, this was totally not lady like and she could already hear the words of Alice as she freaked out about her current appearance. Of course she could only hope she would have the opportunity to find out for herself.
Returning to her previous action she began to call again, "HELP ME! Please" the desperation was clear, and panic was laced in her features and words. She hoped to get through this.

Nodding quietly, 'Ella darted off after her companion to locate the source of the sound. The two pairs of hooves crashed against the ground in a swift pace, carrying them out of the grove of trees, out to the open meadow. While long stalks of grass whipped at her legs and tickled her underbelly her eyes continued to glance at Racardo as his magnicifent body carried him over the land. Other than her father and brother she'd never had much of an opportunity to really watch a stallion, and indeed she could see why the grand design was capable of having emotions between the two; the raw strength and determination of the male countered perfectly with the passionate delicasy of females.
Breaking into the forest line as she began to weave through the trees and over the uplifted roots, the cries of distress from what sounded like a foal at this closer distance flooded her keen ears. She dearly hoped the little one was okay, and that there wasn't someone causing the distress...she was no warrior, having never fought in her life. Even sparring with her sister and father had turned her into a wimpering, shaking filly.
Closer, closer the ran untill she could clearly see the large opening in the trees leading down to the river where upon a small island of mud was the distressed filly. Immediately her mind was dumbfounded that the little filly was none other than an Angeni, yet no matter the breed someone in trouble was still someone in trouble. They had to save her...no one deserved to be alone and stranded at that age, or any age! With resolve focused in her mind, as the grass turned to pebbles and in a few steps pebbles turned to the same ensnaring mud, Zaiella's steps took on a mind of her own. With eyes on the filly, the mare's front hooves landed softly on the line between rock and mud, and when her hind hooves followed with a loud thud....she kicked off from the ground in a leap. Immediately her front legs curled up to her chest, wings branched out despite the pain and gave a few swift flaps to send her lithe frame over the water in one graceful long leap. It was fortunate that she didn't quite realize what had happened when she let instinct take over, or else she might have just been washed away in the current from the lack of momentum needed to get across the worst of the river's current.
Landing with a plop into the mud's grip, she little mare smiled down to Renesme while lipping at her neck and back to make sure she was alright. "Its alright...we're here now!" Zaiella nutured, hoping the little filly would calm now that she would be rescued from her perilous trap. Yet things seemed to backfire as she looked to see if Racardo was right behind her, yet he still had remained on the shores.....all the way over there. The distance was remarkable now that she could look back on it, and even from the shoreline he'd be able to see her increasingly nervous and near horrified look.
How was she going to get the filly across....let alone herself!?

The journey was short but he found himself resisting the urge to laugh as the vines and long grass tickled his stomach, the earth seemed to be getting softer the closer they ventured towards the forest- an omen perhaps?
It didn’t take long to make it towards the river; the bank had overflowed slightly from the intense rain during the evening and it was clear that the bed had been turned into a muddy mess. How appetising. Racardo had always been one to make a point of avoiding mud- simply because the sensation upon his body was not pleasant, but he also hated feeling dirty. His parents had brought him up to act like a gentleman which of course meant that he needed to look like one also. But such thinking would have to wait, for as the cries became louder and his eyes finally discovered the source he noted the delicate looking Angeni foal that seemed to be trapped. If she hadn’t simply flown to safety there must be something else keeping her trapped? Or at least that was what he thought.
Once again amazed by Ella as she immediately lunched into action and joined the small foal he almost missed the scared expression upon her face; she must really care about saving the small creature? In that moment he felt himself seeing her in a new light, for the first time he actually looked at her, replaying the morning activities in his mind. Pushing the thoughts out of his mind so that he could focus once more upon the situation before them.
"Ella... " He shouted across the river, hoping that his voice would not be lost by the background noise of the river. "What’s the situation over there?" Taking a deep breath he lowered his gaze to the rushing river and the muddy bed before he stepped forward, instantly mud clung to him sending a shiver of hatred running down his spin- he really hated feeling dirty. Looking back over to Ella he remembered her courage, how could he not match it... it was only mud, surely it would be easy enough to wash off? Taking a deep breath and allowing a shallow sigh to leave his lips he stepped forward until all of him was in the river, mud clinging to all four of his ankles as he slowly trudged through the thick bed. The river was against him, fretting to knock him over and carry him down stream at any moment- he was just thankful that he had some body strength to keep himself standing tall.
Reaching the centre of the river he stood their, a shiver of sold causing him to shake a little. Eyes looking straight at Ella and the mare. "Don’t be scared" he called out, partially for himself as well as for Ella and the foal. He could remember being in a similar situation all that time ago, bitter memories that still stung his nightmares every now and then- perhaps this was the true reason why he hated mud? Either way he would stay strong, he would stay here, he would do his part. He was no coward.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Renesme heart was a flutter as she saw two figures come out of the shadows... for a moment she considered the possibility that it was Jasper and Alice, but then again there were not enough wings. She hoped that they would not turn out to be Skinwalkers, trying to wriggle and move from the spot in and effort to escape she found herself utterly stuck. She couldn’t escape on her own. Tears flooding again. Would no one save her?
Of course when the shadows were revealed to be a pretty blue wind mare and a tall golden stallion she found a spot of hope. Someone cared? Was it possible she would soon be safe?
A small hopeful smile appeared on her lips as the beautiful mare joined her on the island of mud, "You’re going to help me?" A soft laugh left her lips and all her wings fluttered sending a soft chiming of bells ringing through the air.

Oh lord, oh lord, oh lord!
With her head spinning in dizzy circles, the mare felt as if she could start hyperventalating as the situation. She hadn't prepared a plan, or even prepared herself for this at all...things had just....taken over. The mud sucked at her hoove, creating a grip to keep her and the filly on the island as long as it could. Admist the whirling confusion and fears in her heart, Racardo's voice came like a beacon amongst the storm as her gaze shifted to the golden stallion.
Bravely he ventured through the mud and into the rushing waters, as far as he could before the current rushed past at a speed possibly even too trecherous for the brute of a stallion to cross safely. His words kindled her courage, and the hopeful tone of the filly at her side sealed the deal. No matter how scared and hopeless she felt about the situation she wasn't doing it for her...it was for this little girl, and Racardo...they couldn't do it without her. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she tried to wiggle her feet out of the mud and when she couldn't do it pulling straight up she had to wiggle her hoof's heel out to create an air pocket. Once it had formed she was able to pull her hoof out and one by one she was able to get her legs out and move right beside the filly.
"Its not good! The water from the whole river has made this mud deep, we wont be able to jump or glide back." She hollared back, as there wasn't any stable ground to launch from nor would they simply be able to dead fly with the mud as sticky as it was. As the wind picked up her hair and tossed it to the side she tried to assess the situation like her father had tried to teach her when she was young. A strong current, too wide a gap and the inability to jump or fly. Crossing the water was the only thing they could do...but they wouldn't be able to swim across without being swept away from the center of the river, the white caps and dips in the water far too trecherous for the filly.
"Are there rocks where you're standing?" Perhaps the mud gave away to the riverbed to make walking easier. "We're going to have to cross the water!" She hoped he had some ideas...since she was running out of them.
Turning her head down to the filly she smiled, putting on a brave face for the little Angeni. "Yes...we're going to help you out of this mess! Can you get moving in this mud? The key is to lift the back of your hoof up before pulling your legs out one and a time. We're going to have to get into the water..."
She really was a beauty, a gift from the gods like the stories had said...it was a shame she'd become stuck in this mess....but was thanful they'd found her and not something worse. "We'll figure it out. Racardo is a real hero you know." 'Ella beamed, speaking the words just to the filly. "My name is Zaiella.."

Racardo stood in the middle of the raging river, water splashed all they up his legs and licking his stomach as it continued on its journey. It was cold, and every now and then he felt a shiver wriggle down his spine- he wouldn’t be able to stay here too long, yet at the same time he had no intention of leaving Ella or the little foal. That would be unbecoming of a gentleman. Taking a deep breath he closed his eyes and lowered his head a little in an effort to focus, but this was soon disturbed by Ella’s frantic words. So the situation was worst than it first appeared? Drats!
Yet before he had time to think or reply he heard more worst floating above the sound of the wild water. Rocks? He stamped his hooves hard into the ground, the top layer was soft and his hoof slid easily through it before being stopped by something much harder. Repeating his action again just to make sure –sending more water splashing at his pelt- he was satisfied that there was something strong beneath him, weather it was rock or not was another question. "I think so" he called, "I have a pretty strong footing here I think" yet his unspoken words rang in his mind though how long I can hold it is yet to be seen. He had no intention of letting his fear absorb him or show; it wouldn’t do to scare either of the mares since it was clear from their delicate features they were already fearful.
He watched as Ella spoke to the foal, whatever she said seemed to bring a smile to the small delicate features of them both which warmed him to the core. It seemed that the mare he had only known for a couple of hours had a kind soul indeed, and a gentle heart- it was clear that she was very good with foals and he wondered if that was because she had some of her own? And a mate to go with them perhaps? This notion saddened him for reasons he couldn’t fathom, what was it about this dainty mare that seemed to have him losing his senses?
Disregarding his feelings and thoughts for a moment he brought himself back to the situation before him. Rocks, winged mares, cold strong flowing water and him. An unusual combination- how could it become their advantage?
Mind ticking like a clock an idea started to form- he was strong enough to stand against the current, surely they could use that. The mare had wings so even if they couldn’t fly surely they could glide for a little while? Enough to reach him so he could take them to the shore? It was worth a try. Heart pounding faster with the new burst of adrenaline and testosterone he called to Ella once more, "I have an idea!" He smiled his usual cheeky grin before explaining the details, "Do you think you could help the little foal? Toss her in my direction so she can use her wings to reach me- I can then walk her back to the shore before returning for you?" Patiently he waited for her reply, it may not be a perfect plan but it seemed like there only option.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The little filly stood watching the stallion and the mare that had come to her rescue- how she wanted to repay them for their kind deed, of course- it was not over yet.
"Move?" The word left her lips as she tried to follow the mares’ instructions. Wiggle and lift.... wiggle and lift.... wiggle and lift.... IT WORKED! Renesme was utterly blown away by the fact that the trick worked, she would have to remember that one. "I can move a little" she said, one foot free and currently bent in the air. "What do we do next?" Her heart was a flutter- they where going to be free! Not much longer and they would be free! FREE!! Her little wings flapped softly in anticipation, the bells and decorations ringing and mimicking her joy.
"Racardo – a hero?" She looked to the stallion, it was clear that the mare beside her believed her words but what was so special about a normal that would make him a hero? But then again, had he not already shown it by coming to help them both? "Zaiella..." she played the mares name over and over again in her mind, "Are you a hero too?"

Perfect. With the strong footing of the riverbed they'd be able to at least get somewhere without needing to worry about slipping or sinking, and she'd been hoping that was what was keeping Racardo up instead of a luckily placed rock. Tossing her head up to listen intently to what he had to say, it seemed like a pretty solid and good plan...she'd only hoped that she could hold up her end of the plan. The waters were fast, and probably cold...yet as her eyes glanced down to the little filly at her side...she knew she had to try her best for her and for Racardo. "I'll try my best!" 'Ella yelled back, her own soft smile countering his own. "It looks like we can get pretty close, you'll have to be ready to catch her though!"
Returning her attention to the filly at her side, Zaiella beamed with pride as she wiggled her leg out from the clutches of the mud. "Excellent! Did you hear all that! We have to keep doing that for every foot and get into the water. Once we're there I want you to hold onto my wing however you can...bite it if you need to. My body will block the current, so once we're close enough im going to toss you to Racardo. You're going to have to flap as hard as you can, but I know you'll make it!" Zaiella could only hope that the filly trusted them as she trusted Racardo, this plan couldn't fail. Upon her question, the mare could only blush softly and shake her head...of course she wasn't a hero...Hero's don't get into similar situations like she was in a hour or two ago! "No...I'm not. Yet I suppose I could be a sidekick, since they sometimes get into trouble too...but we get out! Come now, lets go."
Twisting and pulling each leg at a time, Zaiella slowly trudged through the mud with her wings flapping to give her extra leverage and balance while she moved. She tried not to wince at the pain she felt from her ribs and the trickling of blood down her side from the wound, she had to be brave like her father! Before she knew it each of her four legs now stood firmly on the riverbed, the water rushing past her legs to whisp away the mud caked on her fur. A visible chill ran a course through her body, as she wasn't expecting it to be this cold...however immediately her eyes moved up to look at Racardo with a worried empathy in her eyes...she didn't know it was so cold for him to be standing there for so long. They needed to hurry, for all of their sakes.
Dropping further into the water, Zaiella stumbled as the full force of the current swept against her side yet she was quick to recover and hold her ground. Digging her hooves deep, she glanced back to the filly and spread her wing out so she could grab a hold when she was ready.
"Alright! You tell me when you're ready and im going to go under the water and toss you across!" Tossing her head back to Racardo, she called over the current "Get ready!" Now all she had to do was wait for the word for the plan to spring into action. Honestly she wasn't thrilled to be plunging her head into the chilly waters to launch the filly out, but it was all for a good cause. Zaiella had never done anything in her life worth something like this...and she knew that it might have never been if it wasn't for Racardo. Meeting the stallion had set off some sort of fate, and as the familliar feeling of butterflies rose in her stomach...she hoped that fate wouldn't tear him away from her so soon.
