Hmm... I've been thinking lately, maybe we should put up the ol' Soul Academy thread again. I mean, we have lieutenants and lower seats who just popped in, grabbed a high rank then disappeared.
Also applies to the arrancar, perhaps we should implement something to that effect as well.
I recall Kitty-tono saying that in one of the Bleach guilds she joined they required the member to be active for 2 months before achieving Shikai. Though such a rule would be difficult to impose here, we should most likely implement something that would ensure that only the truly active members become lieutenants and higher-ranking lower seats.
Or, you know, we could just start whacking some b**tards with the banhammer. xd

Which one, the banhammer thing? xd @Hiraka: Yes, that's why I doubt that they would be insulted by it as it is purely voluntary and not mandatory. Though like I said, perhaps we should implement some form of requirement that would ensure a... um... 'competent'(?) group of lower seats.

If people would get offended when they are told that their grammar needs improvement, they wouldn't bother going to the other guild about it. They would just rant about it like little n00blets. Though I think it's a really good idea, I don't think it would work as effectively as it's supposed to be, considering the members we have right now. [I'm not insulting any of our members in any way.]
I think the academy is also a good idea, but if someone who already passed starts typing like a retard again, we would have to throw the person back to the academy. From my perspective, it's almost as bad as RP-ing for two months just to achieve Shikai. And it might also result to the members quitting the guild because they have to go to grammar school over and over, that is if they don't change.

Then perhaps we can have the Soul Academy as an activity test?
Because the way I see it:
1. Person joins the guild.
2. Person posts profile.
3. Profile gets approved.
4. Person applies for a captain rank.
5. Application is rejected.
6. Person becomes inactive.
or
1. Person joins the guild.
2. Person posts profile.
3. Profile gets approved.
4. Person becomes inactive.
With the introduction of the Soul Academy as a prerequisite then we would be able to filter out the one-time n00bs, and get only the dedicated members.
We can sort through our current members and exclude the ones who are active, then send the rest back to Soul Academy. Their ranks will be suspended but not taken away, and will be returned to them if and when they graduate.
The ones that fail-- don't post in the Academy RP's/threads-- get their character's suspended until they prove themselves. The ones that pass go back to their ranks with a crew's certificate of activeness. xd

I like that idea. I think we're kinda straying away from Goro's original proposal which was about literacy and now focusing on activity. XD
You know sometimes it's:
1. n00blet joins.
2. n00blet posts profile.
3. n00blet vanishes.
I like the idea of having an academy for that purpose, and perhaps we could incorporate the literacy thing there too to save people time from having to join another guild just for their grammar.
Since we would obviously be using a sub-forum for the academy, I suggest that we just use the Feedback and Petition sub-forum. It's not really as successful as it was envisioned to be in the planning stages. In other words, it's useless now. Just a waste of space and sub-forum. I feel like the guild will be too cluttered if we were to add yet another sub-forum too, so I think this would be best.

I triene of my guilds and it just seemed to drag. People went there and because they couldn't get Shikai and they had to role play as crappy academy Shinigami they just quit
