No, no, let her mind wander all over the place! He snatched at her and missed, fingers flexing on the hilt of his blade even as he eyed with a faint grin on his face. "Really? You're a senshi and you don't even know?"" His tongue clicked against his teeth, offering his sympathy before he lunged at her again. "Lemmie demonstrate--doesn't look like you really need yours, if you're this useless already..."

Useless? Useless!? Bellatrix bit her lip, expression going from confused to highly offended. She balled her hands into fists as she pulled herself up off the ground..err..rooftop. "I'll show you who's useless!"
It was then by some unexplainable moment of eureka! or maybe some deeply hidden latent knowledge that Bellatrix then found her power. 'Fortitude binds the will firmly to the good of reason in the face of the greatest evils, and the most fearful of all bodily evils is death. And so the very idea of fortitude presupposes that there are certain things we should love more than our own lives, certain things we ought to be willing to die for. We hold that the human person ought to love what is larger than himself, namely truth, justice, and the common good of the social whole. ...that's why I am...the senshi of fortitude.'
Bellatrix out stretched her hands on either side of her as swirls of magical light began to form an almost solid looking ring above them both.
"I might not know much, but I know my purpose - I'll fortify the world against your evil!" It at least seemed like the right thing to say. Bellatrix's moment of 'understanding her senshi-self' momentarily took back seat again as her mind wondered back to the seemingly impossible reality. Her Chakram's wavered, becoming unbalanced as they swirled above her hands. She looked at them for a moment, as if wondering 'what now?' The way they swayed couldn't be right... 'Let's try this...'
"Amazonian Chakram Slice!!" She threw the unsteady chakrams. Had they been powered up right, and her concentration perfect, the attack had the potential to go thought the opponent, giving them the sensation of being cut in two, but really never cutting them at all. It was supposed to be a momentarily incapacitating attack. However, the attack wasn't['i] done right, and Bellatrix wasn't concentrating. The chakrams were off course and slow. Easy to dodge one, and the second, though close behind, didn't seem to carry much power at all.

"Oh, baby, please do! It's been so long since a woman made me feel that way..." The lieutenant leered, his grip flexing yet again on the hilt of his sword as he waited for her to make a move. It seemed like she would, that he'd touched a nerve--but she only lifted her hands out, and narrowed eyes flicked over the not-halos that encircled them now. Feeble at first, but they were growing more solid, and his head was tilted with sharp interest rather than concern.
She spouted some pretty bullshit then, of purpose and fortification; how could she know? So self-assured these Senshi were, almost arrogant in their steadfast beliefs... it was enough to put a smile on his face. Then she shouted something, and those rings practically thrummed as they slowly made their way towards him.
He was half tempted to just stand there, see what they did. Perhaps that was why the first he dodged without issue, but when the second passed through his left shoulder... Well, Obsidian wasn't concerned, maybe gritting his teeth a little with surprise at the sensation.
"Well that didn't seem to do much, did it?" He questioned almost innocently, rolling his shoulders before he steadily began to advance. It never occured to him that there could be side-effects, either slow to react or otherwise.

Was surprised at herself, but there was no time to stand there and contemplate. Her enemy was advancing. She took a few small steps back, not realizing how close she already was to the edge of the building until she felt the heel of her one shoe hit air. Uh-oh,... Bellatrix looked for a brief second over her shoulder at the darkness between this building and the next. Could she survive if she 'accidentally' dropped into the darkness below? Survive and run? It was cowardly and far from the epiphany she had just a second ago. Her senshi self screamed to stand and fight. The more sensible side told her to run. Screw fortification and RUN.
"I'll admit - it didn't. What do you expect from a newbie though?" Bellatrix said, trying to make it sound as if she wasn't as shaken as she truly was.

Trapped.
His grin could rival any crocodile's as he took slow steps towards her, all but prowling towards his cornered little senshi. Oh, she could drop--and he'd be on her before she even had time to run, one knee pressing into her back while his free hand tangled in her hair. Her blunt admittance to her own failure made him laugh, amused and perhaps a little pleased. "Not much more, I guess. Won't matter for you though--I'm sure someone would spew some 'try try again' bullshit at you, but not me. No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die." He deepened his tone considerably at that last bit, hefting his sword high in the air as though to bring it down hard onto her skull.
"Better luck in your next life, sweetheart. Oh, yeah. Take this personally." Obsidian grinned before he began to bring the sword down.

Bellatrix never really heard any of what he said. She was busy plotting ways to get out of this situation. She really didn't WANT to risk dropping down and breaking her neck. Even if she did get down safely, he'd have probably not been far behind. She was cornered, but could she maybe...
Bell watched that wooden sword rise into the air. It was fight or flight. No time for supposing. Bellatrix tried sidestepping, but found her too close to the edge and Obsidian himself. She tripped over both their feet, but managed to fall to the side. Way too close to the edge for her taste. Watching that sword in the air, Bellatrix acted on desperation. Her elbow came up and made to hit the lieutenant on the back of the knee, but would it connect before Obsidian could correct his sword's path? Could Bellatrix stay perched there on the edge? He could kick her off on reflex. The sword could alter it's path and hit her.. so many possibilities.

She dropped, like he'd expected... but there was a problem. She was still on the roof--had she tripped over her own feet?--and her elbow smashed into the back of his knee. Taken off guard, he went down hard, grunting with surprise. The blade clattered uselessly next to Bellatrix's head, missing by mere inches, but it lacked the power he'd swung it with before. "Clever. Or clumsy." He snorted, quickly struggling to try and get back to his feet. She wasn't going to get away, and from how casually he was acting, he really didn't think there was much of a problem still.

Bellatrix was wide-eyed as she watched the wooden blade fall so close to her head. So close to the edge... I could knock it off the roof...
"Clumsy! Definitely clumsy! Eheh~" Oh crap! Obsidian was getting up, and he didn't look too awfully phased. Once again, there was no time to think. She shoved the sword - it took much more force than she would have thought. The sword was pretty heavy! But finally it teetered over the edge... "Oopsie!"
Bellatrix managed to hoist herself up into a crouched position. Maybe she could make a leap for the next building. ....So could he. Crap. Either way, it was better than sitting there on the edge.
It was building hopping time!

Oh no she did not. He watched with a curled lip as Shitcakes wobbled helplessly before dropping down into the dark below, and the senshi girl bolted off at the first opportunity. Muttering an oath, the man abandoned his weapon for now to launch himself after her, knowing he'd lost precious time thanks to that particular little ruse. This was starting to get old!
"What happened to loooove and juuuustice and fortitude, darlin'?" He called after her between breaths, a grin on his face despite himself even as he scrambled after her. "Didn't think the senshi were all this eager to run away!"
His hand swiped out, inches from her back as he tore after her on the first roof. She was still too far ahead to really snatch, but he was starting to gain on her.

All Bellatrix could think to do was run. She did, though, briskly offer an explanation. "Better to live to fight another day!" ..than the get my a** kicked now! It was then she took to the ally below. She took the time to hastily knock over some crates behind her, and made quick turns at every opportune corner. She had to get away!

Heh! Strong sounding words for a coward, and though those crates did trip him up for a moment, he simply leapt straight over them. "If I get you pinned, your dead meaaaat~" His voice was almost sing-song as he laughed, teeth bared in a grin. It'd be all over then! To think, a senshi that couldn't even properly defend herself! So much for all those fancy attack names and shimmering lights...

Bellatrix had found an old warehouse. Creepy as it was, she tried the door. It's hinges were loud and creaky, but it opened. THe door slammed shut behind her with the same loud creek, and she went running. There were plenty of places to hide, but Bellatrix wanted to get away!
I'll wait. she thought to herself. Wait till he's in here, if he finds this place, and then make a dash for the back door....there has to be a back door. Hopefully it'll be unlocked...
What Bellatrix didn't know was that by opening the front door, she had tripped a silent alarm, and that somewhere down town, a police station was in a hustle.

Playing hide-and-seek now, were they? His lips threatened to twitch even as he watched her duck into the old, presumably abandoned warehouse. Heels dug hard into the ground as he slid himself to a halt, scrutinizing the place through narrowed eyes. Let's see here... She'd undoubtedly expect him to come through the front, and it was the reason he began to circle around back, picking up speed until he was bolting around the warehouse in an attempt to cut her off.
There it was, the back door--and Obsidian grinned even as he reached out to grab at the handle. That was about the time the blare of the sirens reached his ears, and he found himself stopping dead as they grew closer and closer. Cops? Someone must have seen them and called! Cars screeched to a stop, side doors flew open, and he could hear feet beginning to pound towards the location of the warehouse.
He was in no mood to pretend he could fight off however many armed men while still searching for the girl. Lips twisting into a derisive sneer, and after a moment, he'd quickly see if couldn't find a way to bind the door somehow, lock her inside. No dice. So, instead, he did the next best thing.
"She's in here, she slipped inside! Probably trying to get out the back!" He shouted before he bolted, leaping to the nearest roof and pausing only once to watch the scene for a moment. There'd be another time to tussle with the senshi. You know, if she didn't get herself arrested first. With a grin, the man vanished into the night, a little too pleased with how this had turned out, despite everything.

The police believed obsidian, and when they burs into the building, they found Bell, not Bellatrix, huddled behind some crates, doing her perfect little impression of a scared little girl who had just been chased by a bad man, complete with tears and all! Of course, Bell was and actress!
"The mad man was chasing me!" She said in a frantic voice laced with fear and tears, which she wiped away. Bell looked all disheveled in her Crystal Academy uniform, and her hair all out of place.
The police, of course, could not believe that a well-to-do Crystal girl could be lying, and the captain sent some of his men to go after Obsidian, who would probably have been long gone by now. As was customary, they put cuffs on Bell, who protested, and started to cry more - by hook or by crook, she would get out of this! - and lead her out of the building.
Later down at the police office after Bell had given them all the information, and they'd gotten Bell's father on the phone, Bell was free to go. Mr. McMahon was a very convincing moneybag man, after all! Before bell knew it, she was being escorted to her room. Ugh - what a night!
