Memory could not stoip the flare of hope and excitment that lit his face up. He perked up with a smile and said, "Oh, how rude of me. My name is Memory. I came from an adjacent land when a friend of mine came back with a story about a family, Scarlet's family. Where I come from, no one outside of blood is so accepted, and since I was orphaned, I was very excited to hear about this. I hate to ask, but might you point me in the direction of her home?" He bowed again, "If you're not to busy, that is."

Flower beamed. "No, no...there was no rudeness to be had, Memory. Afterall...you got me out of a rather tight spot. I feel rather indebted to you." She said sincerely. "I could do you one better. I'll take you there. I live with them most of the time, and should probably be checking up anyway." The mare started to walk a few paces. "I'm sorry to hear about your previous circumstances. I can't imagine what that must have been like for you."

Memory glanced where the stallion had dissappeared and smirked. "Oh, I think you have a pretty good idea." He chuckled a little and followed Flower. "If I may, what is Scarlet like? I'd like to know what I'm in for before I get there." Really, after such a long trek, the only thing he needed was a surprise. He hated surprises. He prefered to know about what was a head of him. That was what scared him so much about the future. He had no way of knowing what was a head of him.

Flower thought for a moment as she walked. "Well, she is quite...hyper. She's fun loving, sweet, kind, and never has a bad word for anyone unless they give her a reason to. She's usually one of the 'cup's half full' and 'the more the merrier' sort." The mare explained.
"You could never meet a mare who is more devoted to her friends and family."

Memory follwed in the mare's footsteps with a chuckle. "Well, I can take rejection off of my list of worries." Honestly, he had a great deal more questions to ask Flower, but it would have been impolite to bog her down with such things, especially since they had just met. And it wasn't just about Scarlet either. He wanted to know why she was so terrified of her father. He back handed his curiosity back into it's dark little corner and bit his tongue, however. If she wanted to talk about it, then she would. "How far form here does she live," he conteted himself with asking.

"I daresay you can, Memory." She agreed, mirroring his chuckle with a lighter one of her own. "Not terribly far, but, granted you said you'd been traveling so I'm not sure how much you're up to." Flower noticed she was rambling a bit, she was still full of energy from the adrenaline surge she'd gotten. "We'll get there before sundown, and the travelling's easy, there aren't a lot of obstacles or things to deal with." She explained.
As they continued on the meadow, the air grew considerably cooler as their protection from the wind was minimal at best, if not non-existent. The mare couldn't wait for her winter coat to come in fully.
"D'you mind if I ask what the clime of your homeland was like?"

Memory was unaffected by the colloer temperature, or at least appeared so. He smiled and said, "A great deal cooler, Flower. There's hardly a day without snow. Traveling here I quickly had to shed my winter coat in favor of a lighter one." As if on cue and tuft of his fur fell out and floated away on the breeze. He was greatful for his guide. Flower was amiable, at worst, it seemed. She didn't know him, and she was perfectly comfortable to speak with him as a friend. Even when there were no words the silence was comfortable.

The mare nodded as she listened to him speak. She wasn't always this amiable, of course, and probably wouldn't have been had he not helped her get away from her father. In her experience, not a lot of Soquili would have interfered and that showed a bit of his nature, in her opinion.
She also noticed how oddly safe the silence seemed. She shrugged it off to having broken the ice in a very real way.
That hadn't happened in the longest time, and never with a stallion of her species.
"That sounds a bit like where I came from...bitter cold when it snowed. Of course, it wasn't to that extreme."

Memory only shrugged. "I didn't mind. Of course, I didn't know any better. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon, however. This is fairly balmy for me." He laughed, truth ringing in his words. Even as the chilly wind bit at him, the sun shone on his coat, warming his back in the most delicious sense. He was even sweating just a touch from the unusual temperature. "How long have you known Scarlet, you mentioned she was like a sister to you."

"Well then you most certainly are a more hardy breed than I." She said. "That or I've been here far too long and acclimated." The mare laughed lightly. "Well, about two years, I'd say. My adopted son, Azhar, is a few months shy of two...so, yes, two years." She smiled sheepishly. "The years tend to blend together."

Memory smiled and tossed his honey-colored mane out of his eyes. "Then they must have been good years." He wished his years were so seamless. He hadn't had any bad years, particularly, they were just empty. "You have a son then? You must have a good heart to take in a little one like that. Anyway, I'd much rather not know where the days go then mark them off as they crawl by. My hope is that with a herd to be with I can loose track of time. From the little I've heard from the bird and you, I think that shant be a task. I look forward to it, really." His smile faded a little as his mind wandered back home.

The mare nodded. "They were and are, for the most part, yes." When he spoke of Azhar she beamed and then blushed. "Oh, well, he needed a home and I couldn't refuse him. He's grown into quite the stallion if I do say so myself." She glanced to him and saw the smile begin to slip away.
"You'll love it, Memory. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not thank the gods and goddesses for my herd-mates. My life would be quite horrid without them."

Memory smiled as Flower remenisced. He found that others were often quite happy in the past. While it wasn't healthy to dwell there, he knew, he of all people knew the value of taking strolls down memory lane. "And you did," he said with a grin. "There is nothing wrong with being proud of your young." "No one can be an island. I belive it is natural to crave the company of others." He nodded gnelty as he mused more to himself than to the mare. HE smiled, pulling himself from his thoughts. "Teribly sorry, I tend to slip into my own mind sometimes.

"Not a problem. In my experience most everyone tends to do so from time to time." She offered him a smile. "I've found myself daydreaming quite a lot as of late, I must admit. I never once thought I'd get so far in my life and get so little accomplished. Granted, not that raising a young foal to adulthood equates to nothing." She had begun to ramble a bit, which was something she hadn't done in quite some time.
The mare was usually very guarded and if she could take a step back and observe herself, she wonder if she'd gone completely mental with how easily and quickly she found herself being completely candid with this stallion.

"Well, then I should say you accomplished much in your years. It takes one of fortitude and commitment to raise a foal. And much more so to raise one to the standard of society. I wouldn't sell yourself short." If Memory noticed the rambling he either didn't care or didn't mention it. He did, however, like how easily this mare fell into conversation with him. It wasn't like he ever had troubles getting someone to talk with him. He had a very easy aire about him that seemed to ask for others to come and chat, even about things they didn't with close friends and family. "It's nice to be able to talk to you, however. I enjoy coversation at any given time. This is, however, extra reassuring to me. Not many soquili befriend outside of thier own personalities. Chances are very good Scarlet is as amiable as you are. Tell me, is it just her, or does she have children or parents?"
