Someoe said they believe in post rapture. That means they're going to heaven. According to their theology. They say someone doesn't believe in literal rapture. They say they're going to hell because they don't believe every single piece of 'theology.'

No. My point is that we have been admonished by the saints that have gone before us to study their teachings. St. Paul talks about the teaching of the apostles along with the breaking of bread. If we study what the church has believed for hundreds of years, then we will be more prepared in the face of adversity and false christs. St. Peter says to be ready with answer for your hope when someone asks about it. Are you saying that theology is useless? Listen, Christ has said that the human heart is one of the most vile things on earth for out of it comes filth ans all manner of sin. We should not trust in our opinion or what our heart tells us about important interpretation of scripture. What we should trust in is that God has given gifts to the Church and one is the Word. He also promised that the Holy Ghost would guide the Church in it's wanderings in the wilderness. So we can trust church doctrine handed down from the apostles from generation to generation. Belief in the Son of God and His work is what will get you to heaven. But if someone has a very convincing argument that Jesus was not God, will you believe him? You won't because of theology. Because someone wrote down that the Church actually believes He is God. That is how theology and doctrine happen, to combat heresy. Theology is important.

ObviousMan_bnmkj I would also like to know who the 7% on the poll was. if you don't mind. Obviously I was one of the 7%. The verse in Matthew is talking about clothing and worrying about worldly things, not theology or what you believe in. God says to be prepared to answer when people ask about the hope you have. What will you say when asked?

ObviousMan_bnmkj I'v always been stuck on thoes questions "what will you say..." I don't know what I will say. What would you say? or what should I say. You could start with the Apostle's Creed. That is a very complete confession.
And what about Matthew 16:28?

In Matthew 16:28 Jesus is talking to his disciples. and he is telling them that some of them standing there will not die untill they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. So are we already in Gods kingdome?
It says the same thing in Mark 9:1

So are we already in Gods kingdome? It says the same thing in Mark 9:1 I've heard it said that Jesus is talking about his transfiguration, which was to come in a couple days after he said this. Well, how does God's kingdom come? You pray for it in the second petition of the Lord's prayer. God's kingdom certainly comes by itself, without our prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may come to us also. God's kingdom comes when our heavenly Father gives us His Holy Spirit, so that by His grace we believe His holy Word and lead godly lives here in time and there in eternity.
