For the vampire it felt like the day was passing slowly...so slowly, too slowly. But there was nothing she could do about it. She knew that she was losing from precious time, but for the moment staying alive was her main priority.

She heard several times during the day, the strong footsteps of soldiers parading in the street...she knew that in truth, they were still looking for her. She heard some of them whispering as they walked above her.

Serenice tried to rest but her hunger was growing stronger with time. As the lights of the day started fading, she could barely prevent herself from jumping out of the sewer where she was hiding. But she still had enough lucidity to know that only the darkness could protect her.

She waited and waited for the streets to empty and the silence to install. She was surprised that there was no curfew. But the new power was so proud that it believed in its own strength. However few people actually dared walking in the street at night without a valid motive. The patrol did not have a good reputation.

In her rat hole, Serenice waited for the night.

Do you know what your fate is?
And are you trying to shake it?
You're doing your best and
Your best look
You're praying that you make it

{{Since this IS a literate to advanced literate role play I'm going to be making my own posts in an advanced literate style from hence on. Everyone else can go on as they are, though, so no worries.}}

Had Lilith been in a less mournful mood she would have been shocked when Pomme grabbed her shoulders and pushed her into the next room and down on a chair. Then the woman started talking in a serious and strong voice.
"You are not with them because if you were to die, the kingdom would die. People have died and will die to save your life. You will have to live with it. You are their Princess. They believe in you. So don't do anything reckless like running to the castle by yourself...or else they would all have sacrificed their lives in vain. You hear me?!" As Pomme finished her speech she stepped back and sighed deeply. "You need to eat."

With those words she started walking over towards the kitchen to fulfill her duties. Lilith watched her wide eyes, although they weren't so much in shock as they were in anger.
"I am pissed not daft, Pomme." The princesses' words came out in a quick snap as she rose up from her seat. "And do not ever speak to me as you would a child, junior or equal for you are not my mother nor my kin nor my superior. You are inferior to me, is that clear?"

Lilith turned around and left the room to fetch her sword. She then moved over to a random door and opened it. She was greeted by an empty closet. She slammed the door shut and picked another one and this time was greeted by a hallway. She stepped through and shut the door behind her, walking down the hallway with her clothe-wrapped sword carefully cradled in her hands.

She walked until she found a chair that didn't look as if it would vomit dust up on her as soon as she touched it. She sank into the chair she'd chosen and laid her sword out on her lap.
'Died, I would have died.' She shut her eyes tightly as she pressed her icy hand against her forehead. 'I was going to die honorably with and for my people and they robbed it from me.' She opened her eyes and stared harshly at a shadow, jaw tight. She watched it and silently willed it to move. Any signal that the shadow was something more than just a lack of light. 'Such solitary... I do not enjoy being so...' she tilted her head back until it touched the headrest. When was the last time she'd ever been truly alone...?

'So all of my soldiers, those men and women who died for my kingdom, do they despise me for abandoning them? What has the Mei'q Valuk army-' her eyes widened and she suddenly bolted upright in her seat. 'Mei'q Valuk! Those bastards have taken my throne now, haven't they?'

'You are not with them because if you were to die, the kingdom would die.'

Her kingdom....

'You are their Princess. They believe in you.'

'Pomme...' Lilith was on her feet as the other woman's name entered her head. 'She is right. So long as the people of Erion have faith in me the crown is still mine.' Her fist tightened around the hilt of her sword and a moment later she was walking back through the hall. "Pomme!" Lilith boomed as she reentered the room and stepped back into the kitchen. "You told me that Falconer was to be executed, did you not?"

Pomme had gotten herself ready for any kind of reaction from the Princess. She was fully aware of how her behavior was inconsiderate knowing that Pomme was barely better than a slave, while Lilith was the Princess. But the thirty year old woman knew that she would have to push Lilith if she wanted the adolescent to fire up and be ready instead of letting herself sink in depression for still being alive.

Ready or not, Lilith's words hurt Pomme. The red hair woman did not have Serenice's ability to swallow up insults without a word. Lilith pushed on the word 'inferior' the same way a kid crushes a worm with its heel.
Inferior...? I know that... she mentally hissed and yet she remained silent and turned back to the cooking. She wished she was dead instead of Senerice and the vampire would be here to take care of the kid and the cooking. Pomme was a nice woman but she was nothing of a house wife with children.

The doors opened and closed with noise and Pomme clenched her fists tempted to throw one of her knives in the air and make the commotion stop. But it was useless, Lilith seemed to have found somewhere peaceful where she could think for a while.

Pomme finished preparing a mid afternoon snack and set up the table with two plates. Maybe she'd want me to eat on the floor...?! she bitterly joked to herself. She sat and waited, staring at the food with annoyance.

Pomme sighed and was about to go check on Lilith when she bursted in the main room asking about Falconer.
Pomme did not like at all where this conversation was leading. There was no way Lilith and herself would go on a rescue mission to save him. That was far too risky, plus Mei'q Valuk was probably expecting anyone loyal to the Princess to come and try.
She took a deep breath and tried to control herself, after all Pomme wasn't a kid anymore.
"Yes." she nodded and made a gesture towards the table.
"But please...Princess...have something to eat..." her voice was truly worried, Lilith had been asleep for days, without food, if she went on like that, she would just collapse.

The afternoon had passed very slowly for the vampire and now the light had retrieved for the protection of the night. It was barely 6pm but it felt like tonight would be a dark night.
"For once luck is with me..." whispered Serenice to herself.

She waited for a moment where she could not hear anything disturbing the silence of the street and jumped out of the sewer hole, running for the closer corner where she could hide and analyze the situation. The truth was that as she reached a safe place, she was out of breath and dizzy. She cursed in her lips. "I need to feed." so much for trying to be a good person, tonight if she wanted to survived she would have to do what anyone of her race did in a regular basis: drink blood.

Serenice took some time to see where she actually was in the town. She recognized some of the buildings and let her steps led her where she wanted to start: the Tavern of the Fat Pig. She hoped that the Bert woman would be there. She needed to speak with her.
Someone passed next to her and Serenice slowed down, smelling the person's scent with delight. She felt her fangs aching and her eyes widened. She turned to look at the passerby...a young woman. While Serenice realized with horror the innocent of the child, she had already made a step towards the adolescent who was now looking at her with horror at the sight of the blood on her clothes.
Serenice made a motion to silent her. If the kid would just shut up, Serenice would be able to fight her instinct and let her live. But the result was opposite to what the vampire was hoping.
The teenage started running and soon her lips open to shriek. The beast in Serenice recognized a prey, without the human being able to understand the horror of her action.
Serenice did not lose time, in one step she was on the girl.

- Please...no..., screamed the girl.

A second step and Serenice's fangs were on the girl's neck. Her blood flowed quickly warm and fresh...delicious. Serenice dragged the lifeless body in the shadow as she finished feeding.

The door of the Fat Pig Tavern opened. From where she was Serenice could see the fat woman standing on the door step.

"I swear I heard something. Lizzie?" she called, looking for her daughter.
"Lizzie are you here?"

A drunken voice called her back inside. "Bert! Beer! Your girl is fine. She'll back soon. Now beer!"

Serenice's blood froze, if possible, in her body and she looked at the kid. Now that Lizzie was silent and Serenice's thirst quenched, the vampire was realizing what she just did. She dropped the body with horror and stepped back, leaning against the closest wall.
"What did I...?" she clenched her fist. There was no coming back.

"Coming!" the door of the Tavern closed on Bert.

It took some time for the vampire to calm down. Killing was not a problem. Feeding was annoying but nothing else. But feeding on a child who was innocent?! That was not something she was ready for. Until then she had been able to keep her thirst under control and kill only those who deserved it. She sighed and looked further at the kid. With a gasp, she took her katana and damaged the body of the girl in several places. Then she took the girl and punched her several times so that they would believe guards took her and raped her. She truly disgusted herself at that moment. She wanted to vomit.

However she had to admit, she was feeling better. Her senses were back, she could see clearly and she felt warm. She laughed bitterly. "This is what the King chose to protect the future heir..." Her task over, she looked at herself. She needed some clothes...but not the ones of the kid, too short anyway, plus she had just destroyed them. She looked at the surrounded gardens and stole some pants here and a shirt there. "That should do." Men clothes.

Zulma hid her old clothes in the sewers where she had been. As soon as she dropped them vermin crawled on them. There won't be much left at daytime... she smirked and then slowly headed for the Inn.

She was going to have to speak with the mother...while she did not know that Serenice just killed her own daughter. The vampire pushed the door of the Inn and found a spot in a corner next to a window. Better safe than sorry, was her motto. The Tavern was almost empty. But as she listened she recognized the voice of the two men she had heard earlier.

Bert approached the new patron. She made a face at the clothing of Serenice. "What'd yu want?" she asked with a harsh voice.

"Your best ale!" answered Serenice in the same tone.

The woman seemed contented by the answer and served Serenice without another look or question.

Serenice pretended that she was drinking while she was listening to the men.

"Your beer is the best Bert!" was bawdily saying one of the men with a wink and a tap on the woman's bot.

"How can you be so...so...frivolous...when...when Falconer is going to die?" said the other man, a 6 feet tall, 50 something man who had obviously finished quite a few glasses himself.
"You owe him...we all owe him!" the man finished his bottle and ordered another one.

Bert brought the man his beer. "Stop it with your Falconer!" she said with a serious ton. "You are going to bring us trouble." she cast a look at Serenice. "There is nothing which can be done. He is a hero and will die as such. The guard was quite eloquent about the amount of soldiers guarding him and especially on the day of the execution. You know how he goes on and on when he comes on Tuesdays." she sighed. "Just pray for his soul."

Serenice frowned. Today was Monday. So tomorrow...she would be back for a drink and a little chit-chat...

"He said your Lizzie, didn't he?!" shouted the man back. "How can you speak of him that way?" the man was furious.

Bert cast him a dark look. "I never asked him anything." she answered sourly. "You are drunk Mark. You should leave." she grounded "Speaking of which, where is she?" Bert looked worried.

Serenice made herself smaller, if possible, in her chair. She felt even more guilty for the girl.

Mark stood up, put some money on the table and stumbled out of the door.

Bert followed him with her eyes, looking truly sorry for him.

Serenice waited the appropriate amount of time and stood up, leaving coins on the table. The man smelt some much like alcohol that it was easy for her to follow him. As he reached his door, she materialized next to him, or so it felt to Mark. "I need to speak with you." Serenice had decided to trust the man. She showed him a bracelet with the crest of the royal family.

Mark frowned and felt sober all at once. "Not here...come in."

Serenice followed the man inside.

Do you know what your fate is?
And are you trying to shake it?
You're doing your best and
Your best look
You're praying that you make it

Lilith let out a hiss as air was pushed between clenched teeth. Despite Pomme's lack of information Lilith followed her gesture and sat down at the table. Even though she wanted to pick up her sword and go marching out she knew that she needed to eat. She'd had the delight of nearly passing out from a lack of food one too many times due to the war to have learned that it was best to eat when feeling a bit light headed.

She sighed as she clasped her hands and quickly muttered a prayer to the gods. Once she was finished she unclasped her hands and reached for the silver wear. The moment that food was placed on her tongue Lilith was suddenly aware of how hungry she really was.
'It feels as if I have not eaten for days,' she thought to herself as she took another bite of food. 'As a matter of fact I probably HAVEN'T eaten for days!'

Lilith ate quickly and yet still with manners. Even in the presence of a single maid she would not allow herself to be seen eaten like a starving animal. By the time she was finished she was still hungry but refused to pick anything else up off the table lest she risked having her stomach pop. She picked her napkin from her lap and carefully dabbed her lips to rid her mouth of any remaining crumbs. She then folded her napkin and set it back down on the tablet. She was so full that normally she would have felt that it was a good time for a nap. However she'd been asleep for gods knew how long so falling asleep again so soon was out of the question.

"So Falconer is to be executed, you said." Lilith began as she folded her hands on her lap. "Along with many other of my men, I presume." She drew a breath as her eyes fluttered in thought. Her lips thinned as she pressed them together for a few seconds. "I suppose the first moves to be made will be to find Serenice and either delay the executions or free the soldiers. Any acts, however, will most likely result in punishment or more oppression of my people."

She stood up and picked her sword up off of the floor. She walked over to a window and gently lifted the curtain so that she could look outside. From what she could see she'd somehow been transported to the countryside. Considering its rather peaceful look it had to be miles away from the capital city.
"Tell me, woman, how many days have I slept?" She let her eyes soak in the world of the outside before she let the drapes fall back into place. "And tell me everything you know about Erion's situation. How many soldiers have been imprisoned, where we are, if Mei'q Valuk has managed to occupy all parts of Erion and so on."

Bang.

The door was kicked open, before the grunting servant dragged in the comatose body of Falconer, who didn't stir when he was dumped in a most undignified manner upon the floor. He also didn't stir when a new stranger entered the room, who looked down upon the body, a hand rising up to his face in an attempt to block out the unpleasant smells wafting up towards him.

Crouching down to the body's level, he reached out with a hand and unceremoniously tapped the body, releasing a low level of magic as he did so that resulted in a small jolt of electricity racing across Falconer's body. With a gasp Falconer awoke, one hand clasped across his chest, before his fingers began searching his body.

"Bastards, wheres my wallet?"

Falconer turned his head to face this stranger.

"Who in the nine hells are you?"

The stranger smiled, revealing pearly white and perfectly straight teeth that sent shivers down Falconer's spine. What were they, bleached or something?

"You died Master Falconer..."
The stranger said in conversational tones, as though- forgive the cliche- they were talking about the weather, or discussing lunch as his grin widened some more. Falconer visibly shuddered. "We can't have you dying just yet, after all your death must be a spectacle, an amusing show, a comedy for us to enjoy. A quiet, dignified death here at the hands of our master Torturer is hardly worthy of a man of your...stature."

Nicholas laughed at the irony present in the man's voice, although the humour didn't quite reach his eyes, which roamed the stranger's face, taking in as much detail as he could. Something about the guy didn't sit right with him.

"Interesting...Master you say? My my, last time I checked only servants and lower class worms were fit to call me such a title...You appear to be neither. Tell me then, why you've come to visit someone as unimportant as myself?"

The stranger laughed, a chilling sound that seemed to echo around the empty room.

"Nice acoustics you got in here..." Falconer commented. "I noticed during my torture that my screams and cries for my mother seemed to be echoing a tad bit..."

"Master Falconer, please don't attempt to bullshit me. You're very much aware of your status and importance to the crown of Erion. The survivor of the Battle of Marathon, the solider who was next in line to become the general of the Royal Erion Army. Yes...I know a lot about you, Nicholas D. Falconer, its a great insult to know that you don't even know a little about myself."

The stranger drew himself to a more impressive height. Nicholas duly noted that he was shorter than himself, and gained a great level of satisfaction from it.

"Valuk Hidoi, son of the Emperor and 5th in Line for the throne of the Empire. General of the Royal Army, I'm one of the few men responsible in making the lives of your people a living hell. I was also the general in charge of the Battle of Marathon. I must say, your...perseverance there was quite the thorn in our sides for a long time...And I have never quite managed to recover from the humiliation faced when our grand army was eventually repelled...All by the efforts of one man."

Falconer gulped. And cursed the acoustics of the room for allowing the sound to echo around him. Hidoi's next words however threw him off.

"Do you play chess, master Falconer?"

Falconer shrugged.

"Every now and then I suppose. I much prefer Battleship...there's something hugely satisfying about telling your opponent that you'd succeeded in sinking their battleship."

Hidoi motioned to the servant, who brought in a simple wooden chessboard and began setting it up.

"Come then, play a few games with me..."

20 or so minutes later...

Falconer considered his position carefully. Already, Hidoi had decimated a great number of his pieces, and he was thus reduced now to just his king, queen, a knight and a handful of pawns. Hidoi, on the other hand had only loss 3 of his pawns and both his bishops.

"Well, common courtesy dictates that an evil wanker as yourself be good at chess, but I hadn't expected you to be this good...Are you sure your real name isn't Lelouch?"

Hidoi raised an eyebrow and studied the board.

"Right now, your king is protected by your queen and knight. Your pawns are pretty much helpless then, aren't they? My my, what a poor...strategy you have. What will you do then...if I were to do...this?"
Leaning forward, he pushed forward one of his rooks to take out his knight, resulting in a wince from Falconer, who responded by pushing a pawn forward.

"Moving a pawn deeper into enemy territory? If I am to succeed in taking your queen, which I will in a few turns, your king will be essentially defenseless..."

Falconer growled out a response. "Idiot, do you honestly believe the queen, the hidden ace, the secret weapon will honestly give up her king so easily? The queen is the king's body guard, and it is her duty to ensure that the king remains alive, even at the cost of her own life...Make your move pretty boy, we'll see."

Hidoi raised an eyebrow, nudging a piece forward, before raising the second eyebrow when Falconer moved with his king.

"What?"

Falconer smirked. "Much like its the queen's duty to protect the king, its the king's duty to lead its people. Without him, the people are useless and confused. Without him, there is no hope for victory."

Hidoi gave him a weird look.

"I think you're taking this chess metaphor a little too seriously"

"...perhaps! But the fact of the matter is that my move has thrown you off balance, and there's nothing you can do about it! What now, Hidoi what ever your last name is, 8th in line for the throne! Can you feel the despair welling up within you? Its come back time b***h!"

"Check. And its 5th in line by the way"

"...son of a b***h!"

((For my amusement. No ones posting enough))

Pomme sat and ate in silence. She listened as the Princess spoke. She seemed to have calmed down. The red hair woman waited for Lilith to finish speaking. Pomme swallowed what she had in her mouth before speaking.

"You have been asleep for the last four days." She started and did not add the terror she had had that Lilith would never awake. She had feared that in her attempt to save the Princess, Serenice had actually killed her with her knocking out blow. But to her relief Lilith had started moving and speaking in her sleep after two days. It took two more days for the Princess to gain back her full consciousness. Pomme chased her memories, Lilith was here alive and obviously not ready to stay and do nothing. She was not expecting less from her ruler, although she hoped that she would be able to prevent anything too reckless from happening.

"Actually Falconer is to be executed alone. They want to make an example of him. The execution is planned on the Grand Square in the middle of the city." She let the information sink in Lilith's mind. The Grand Square was literally in the middle of the city. Its access was limited and would be restricted on the day of the execution, although it was obvious that Mei'q Valuk wanted as much public as possible.
"He is in the castle prison. They are not taking any risk with an attempt of rescue." Princess Lilith's knowledge of the castle was probably second only to the vampire and not by much. But that knowledge would leave a bitter aftertaste as there was no direct passage between the outside and the prison. Passages existed only within the castle which were leading in the prison and from the outside to the upper castle.

Pomme's knowledge of the castle was not as complete but she knew that sending the Princess in town, in the castle, would be a suicide. She went on answering Lilith's questions as best as she could.
"Most of those loyal to you are held in a work camp on the outkirts of the city." Pomme knew that without them they would not be able to do anything and that the logistics of feeding and hiding them once they were freed would be difficult. This was what she had been working on in the past days with two others loyal people to Lilith.

Pomme ate more, leaving Lilith to her thoughts. What she had to say would not please the Princess nor did it warm up her heart. But she had to do it.
"As for Serenice..." she paused and stared at her food in silence. "She will find us. We should not...waste our efforts trying to locate her." If she is alive... the thought tore her heart. Pomme hated having to say that but the vampire had made her sworn that she would not try to attempt anything to find her and Pomme was loyal.

Four days? Lilith lifted a doubtful eyebrow at Pomme's reply. If she'd been asleep for four days how was it that she was not dead? 'One more day and I would have been dead...' Lilith's jaw tightened as she ground her teeth together. 'Serenice... I have no doubt that the one who put me to "sleep" was you... were you trying to protect me or kill me? You vile vampire.' She let out a sigh as she unclenched her jaw and listened to the rest of the information that Pomme was giving.

As Pomme spoke Lilith wished that it was not Pomme who was speaking to her but one of her generals. The woman took far too long to give her answers. In fact she was doing it in such a way that Lilith felt as if she were treating her as she would a child. Slow replies and then ample space between each as if to give the princess time to process the information. Was it that or was the woman too upset to properly speak?

"Pomme, I realize that this situation may be stressful for you however please try to speak as smoothly as possible without pausing." Lilith stated frankly as she leaned her sword up against the wall beside her and folded her arms underneath her chest. "So as of right now we are at a major disadvantage." She took moment to think before continuing on. "If we must act, however, it must be soon before Mei'q Valuk makes itself too comfortable..." she tapped her lower lip as she looked down at her sword. "You are correct about Serenice. Serenice is a master of cloaking herself in the shadows and moving silently." 'I know that better than anyone in this world.'

Lilith had more to say even so she waited so she could sort out her thoughts. The situation had to be treated with the utmost delicacy. As it was now anything that Lilith came up with would have a higher chance of failure than success. The cards were no longer in favor. Somehow she was going to have to get them back.

"I cannot allow Falconer to be executed." She spoke with a strong voice and yet she still sighed. "Falconer is one of the greatest soldiers I had serving me and he is also one of the great symbols of hope to the people of Erion have. If he is executed then the people and soldiers that I have left will be demoralized." She placed her knuckles underneath her chin and looked down at the floor thoughtfully. "Mei'q Valuk may have the land underneath its control, however, they are at a disadvantage with the fact that they are not familiar with it. As I am sure that you are aware, thanks to Serenice, there are many tunnels that were designed to be used in the event that a mass evacuation would be required. Unfortunately the last attack was too quick for an evacuation of that scale to have taken place. However we may be able to use those tunnels to our advantage to sneak in... there is no way that the Mei'q Valuk are aware of their existence yet. It would take them weeks to find them even if they knew that they existed. I cannot be the one to go in, however... if I die we would be set at an even greater disadvantage and I would prefer to avoid creating more of them if possible."

This was a magnificent hole she'd been shoved into. She'd been given a match for light but it may as well have been a damp one. It was better than nothing, though. "I need more. How many days until Falconer's execution, do you have any inkling as to where my generals are if they are living, how many days will it take to reach the capital and the work camps and how secure is this location?" Lilith idly wrapped her fingers through her hair and tugged on them. "Also do you have any suggestions for what we should do next?"

Lycan had been searching for a couple of days looking for the Princess Lilith although many said that she was dead his instincts told him otherwise. Lycan was walken around following a lead wich he got a few weeks ago. Lycan spoted a mansion although it had not been in cluded in the lead there was something about it that seemed to becon him. Lycan paused to think if he should approach the mansion or not too.

Lycan haven decided that he was going to the mansion faded into nothing using his ability to make him appear to be invisible Lycan approached the mansion and knocked on the door waiten for someone to come to the door if any would. If not he would find a way to enter the mansion and do a detailed search of the place. He would do this because his instincts told him that something related to the princess if not herself was there and he had took a oath to himself that he would find the princess and protect her with his life and deliver a preciouse jewel that was need for the royal family to regain their power and holding.

Lycan would definatley lend his extensive skills to his lady ship if he found her still alive.

{{Demonic, just fyi, Lilith and Pomme have only been missing for four days.

And eating kiwi in large amounts when I'm allergic to it isn't a good idea. My tongue feels so scratchy. T__T}}

Lilith wound her fingers around her hair and continued to gently tug on it.
"Aah... Pomme, is there a pen and paper available?" She needed to write things down, begin making strategical ideas and more... paper would certainly help. She would most likely to have to burn everything once she was finished. Even so it would help her to be able to sort out her thoughts. 'I have none of my generals here to help me come up with strategies... and I doubt that Pomme has been taught anything about war tactics or chess,' she looked over at Pomme for a moments before turning away and sighing. 'A slave would not be taught such things. She must know how to fight, else Serenice would not have given me to her, however how sharp are her skills? A regular slave would not be taught such things and if they were to learn it would not be much. Slaves are not meant to know how to fight. I do understand that she knew Serenice when she was younger, however, so perhaps that means Pomme is not an ordinary slave.' Serenice wasn't one to think with emotion so Lilith highly doubted she would have picked Pomme to guard her unless the girl had some skills.

She would have to see how well Pomme fought very soon. At the moment Pomme was the only person she had with her so it was absolutely vital that Lilith knew what her strengths and weaknesses were. So much had to be done in such little time.

Lilith was still lingering in her thoughts and listening for Pomme's answer when something caught her attention. She wasn't sure what had caused her to suddenly look towards the window and grab her sword save for the fact that she knew something was outside. She lifted her free hand towards Pomme to tell the woman to be silent before she could speak.
'What is that?' She tilted her head and stared off into space as she searched her senses for an answer. However, nothing came. She knew that something was there- but what?

"Pomme-" Lilith's words were cut short as the faint sound of knocking traveled through the empty rooms and halls and into the room. With the confirmation that they were no longer alone Lilith turned around with her sword at the ready. "I do not suppose that someone else happens to know of our location?" Lilith asked as she rested the flat side of her blade on her palm. She looked towards the door and gestured for Pomme to go first. "Please go the door first. I will be hiding closely behind you." Lilith inclined her head to ensure her promise to Pomme. She then turned towards the door and held her sword ready. It was unfortunate that she no longer had her buckler but her sword with have to do.

"I have the feeling that whoever it may be has friendly intentions for us. Even so please make hand signals to tell me if I must strike." Lilith was going to assume that Pomme knew them. Even those who were not soldiers had been taught simple things like that in order to alert others of a hostage or invasion situation. "I will rely on you to make the proper decisions. You will make them wisely, I pray." She doubted whoever was at the door would wait for long so there wasn't any time to create plans for what to do if the person seemed friendly. 'Creating plans for situations like these will also be required.' She noted to herself as she headed for the door.

Pomme was now fighting her increasing annoyance towards the Queen. Her manners, her voice, everything in the young woman was arrogant and reminding her of her status of slave. If only that baby knew how much Serenice and herself had suffered to protect that kingdom which now was hers by birth. But Kings and Queens were expecting the little people to bleed and die for them, Lilith was no different to the rule.

The Queen was playing tough and smart and yet...she asked the red hair woman for the second time when Falconer would be executed. She indeed needed paper if she was so slow at memorizing crucial information. Pomme's only relief was when Lilith acknowledged that she should not be the one going in town. At least she is not totally stupid... thought the woman with sarcasm.

Pomme was feeling the irritation in Lilith's voice and that feeling was shared. Great team... she thought bitterly. How could Serenice ever believed that I would be a good guardian...? She sighed.

This was when she felt a presence. To her surprise the Queen had noticed too. To her horror, the stupid ruler of her country on whose shoulders the future of the entire kingdom was laying...rushed for the window. Pomme refrained a facepalm. She was totally flabbergasted. She knew the potential danger of the situation and stopped herself from making a sarcasm such as: 'You should take a torch and stand on the roof.' or something of the sort.

When Lilith ordered her to go first, Pomme could not suppress a smirk from her face. She almost bowed and purred 'Your highness is too kind.' But for once, she passed over what she was: a freed slave by order of the King and grabbed Lilith by the armpit. The red hair woman had already a knife in her other hand and her eyes had lost any kind of kindness.

"Friendly or not, they do not know the code..." her voice was a hissing murmur. She pushed the young woman in a small room.

"That trap door." she pointed the other corner of the room.
"If anything happened, flee. The tunnel leads to a tavern. The owner is Russell. He would know what to do." ...or so I hope... As she let go the Queen, another knife appeared in her other hand.

Pomme closed the door in silence. She hesitated a second into locking the Queen inside, she had the key...she decided against. Lilith seemed to had understood that her life worth more than anyone else's and Pomme decided to trust her.
The servant went back in the main room and stood by the hinges of the door.
"Who is there?" she asked with a strong voice. She hoped that the Queen's intuition was true.

Lilith Ishtar Daciana Valdis Gwenevere Ovet

Do you know what your fate is?
And are you trying to shake it?
You're doing your best and
Your best look
You're praying that you make it

{{Another fyi: Lilith didn't actually go to the window, she just turned her head and looked at it. Otherwise, she didn't move.

Also, try to avoid grabbing and leading other people's characters. I'll let this slip for now but Lilith would not have let Pomme take her into the room at least without saying something.}}

Lilith sighed as the door was shut. For a moment she thought that Pomme was going to lock the door. She paused, waiting for the sound of the key moving the gears in the doorknob. When it didn't happen she blinked and shifted her weight to her other leg. Instead she heard the sound of footsteps leading away from the door. Lilith turned around, looking at the rest of the room and then down at her sword.

'Pushing your lines, Pomme. The only one to ever treat me with such force and not be punished is Serenice,' Lilith thought to herself as her eyes wandered around the room. Even though Serenice had never really man-handled her- except for very recently. And for that Serenice would be punished- there was absolutely no way that Lilith was going to allow Serenice get away with such behavior without consequence.

As a knot suddenly formed in her throat Lilith swallowed and changed the topic of her thoughts. She turned back to the door and thought about ignoring what Pomme had wanted and following the servant out. After all Lilith was the leader, not her, and she was not someone who would be ordered by her servant.
'I will think of a punishment later,' Lilith thought to herself with cold, narrowing eyes. 'Gods, if only I had been placed with one of my generals...' she sighed heavily and shook her head, trying to dispel her negative thoughts. She had to work with the situation as it was. Nothing else could be done about it.

Lilith rubbed the back of her neck before she headed back over to the door. She opened the door, eyes peering out to see if anyone was in the room before she moved to stand near the door way. She stood up against the wall, sword in the ready position in case she had to run or fight. According to the sounds she could hear Pomme's location was outside of the room that was connected with Lilith's. So long as she kept an ear out she would be able to listen in on what was happening outside.

'Aah, Pomme, you fool. I may be the princess of Erion but you are my only ally at the moment... if you are to die I will without any help whatsoever,' Lilith's lips thinned as she tightened and relaxed her grip on the hilt of her sword. 'Poor servant of Erion indeed.'

As Lilith stood in the dark silence of the room she could have sworn she felt something else nagging at her senses.
'What is that...?' her brow furrowed as she turned her head, eyes unfocused. 'I do not know why but I am certain that whomever is at the door is not an enemy... is this an enchanter of sorts...? But if Mei'q Valuk knew of my location why would they not send more than a single man? This reeks of sorcerers' magic.'
