Alexis opened his mouth to inform Marlo that he had gone out and bought his own sheets to defile, but a second thought paused his tongue against his teeth. Perhaps it was better to let them think he had been a deviant and torn up the sheets. Yes. The more they thought he was like them the less torturing there would be. "Y-yeah. It's me," he replied almost begrudgingly. "I had to come of course. Your other half," (was there a bite of spite to those words? Nah...) "would have never let me live it down."

An arm snaked up to adjust his glasses as he looked Marlo up and down. "...p-please d-don't t-tell me you're..." Alexis took a few nervous steps back and then fell over as Alex demanded he change into a toga and go as Julius Caesar. "WH-WHAT?! N-NO! THA-...that would be...terrible. C-Caesar d-dies! Brutally! I-it w-would j-jinx us..." Alexis didn't believe that, not really. But the idea of going out in such scanty attire made him redder than all the warning lights flashing in his head telling him to run like hell out of here and just take whatever mockings that came his way.

"Oh, come on," Franz reassured him. "Maybe he's one of the other Caesars, the ones who just had relations with horses. Don't worry about it. Karma has nothing on us tonight, all right?"

He was tapping the sheet again, having scribbled on it. "Men, don't forget. We're on a points system here. The smaller and lacier, the better; if you encounter a thong, take it and run; I don't have to point out with every ugly unsympathetic male gaze in my heart that granny panties are a minus point, but don't judge the girls for it. Seriously, we're the ones who've forced them into this ugly charade of pretty underwear. Did I mention thongs are more points? Good."

Marlo, lacking in enthusiasm, just went back to his seat, leaving Alexis on the floor. "I don't really care about code names. Chances are we'll slip up and call each other by our real names anyway." His shrug caused the purple wig to slip pver half his face like an angry octopus. He looked through the purple dreads. "Cheer captain is Jack Nicholson. Seymour is lucky charms. Elzo is a*****e." "No I'm not!" "Shut it. Anyhalf of us are lacking in code names. Do you really think we need them that badly?"
Elzo leaned over to bark at his brother. "Yeah, if we don't want to get caught!" Alexis! What'll be your code name? Pick it or we'll pick it for you!" It seemed if Elzo couldn't take his anger out on Marlo he'd take it out on someone he knew could take it.
Marlo still ignored Elzo. "Fra-Jack Nicholson, please explain why we're on a point system and what are we winning except a possible trip to hell?"

Sitting on the floor of the bar Alexis realized that it had probably been over a month since they had cleaned it. And that he was at least well-adjusted enough to mumble something about preferring the dead Caesar to the one who engaged in bestiality. "Y-y-yes sir. N-nothing at all...s-sir." Alexis stood up and dusted himself off, looking at his hands with a slight grimace. Well, he was going to be dirtying them figuratively later, why not have them dirty literally as well?

At the mention of his name Alexis looked over at Elzo and paled, though with the sheet it was impossible to see. "I...I...I don't......pleasedon'tpicksomethingstupidElzo."

Code names picked out or not, the departure time of 8:13 (they had picked an irregular number to prevent spies or hangers-on) had fast approached the group, and it was now time to leave their meeting place for their true destination. Silently, instantaneously, one by one they filed out of the Lonely Star Bar & Grill. Footsteps clattered down the sidewalk in mostly-silence peppered by whispered bickerings between small knots of those who knew each other better. During this walk it was decided that Alexis would be "Phantom" and Simon, "Twinkletoes." Alex piped up that Marlo should be "Pizza Snatcher", and the Xanis shot back that Alex would henceforth be known as "Pizza Face."

They boarded a subway to get to the edge of town. Fortune must have been on their side that night, as there were no mixups with the schedule to be had.

Sneaking into the Crystal Academy was easy - almost a little too easy - the trees and statues and flower trellises decorating the campus made for a convenient cover up to the point until, finally, the entrance to the dorm hall was in plain sight.
