Devin kept climbing, determined to match his older sister in height. He almost slipped once, Vincent hurrying to catch his foot. "I okay," he reassured his older cousin with a smile. "I gonna reach the top!" It seemed like he would, he was carefully making his way up. "I gonna make Mommy proud, and thee gonna hug me--and keep me 'way from mean Ginner--" he continued telling himself what his sister would do once he got to the top; most of it included her keeping 'Mean Ginner away'.
Vincent grinned up at his friend. "He seems to have inherited your talent," he said. 'Zuba really did make a good older sister, though he knew she would probably deny it if he said so.

'Zuba chuckled. The little boy was definitely the cutest little thing she ever saw. Especially since he shared her dislike of "Mean Ginner". She leaned forward, offering her hands to the little boy to help him climb. "Come on, you're almost there." she said, trying to encourage the boy.
"He sure has." the split-spawn said, smiling lightly. Though, she really wouldn't call it a talent; anyone could climb a jungle gym with enough practice. She motioned for Vincent to climb on up there; couldn't very well have him stay down there by himself, could she?

Devin took hold of his older sister's hands, beaming up at her. "I gonna be on top," he boasted, finally reaching to where 'Zuba was sitting. "Hooray! We bigger than ev'rybody!" He looked down at his older cousin, and smiled. "I bigger than you, Vinny! You no can make it!" Of course Vincent couldn't make it; it was much too high for him, wasn't it? He decided to tell 'Zuba his theory. "Mommy, Vinny no make it! It too high!"
Vincent wasn't so humble as to ignore a challenge when he heard one. A smile crossed his features as he left the center of the jungle gym, and started to climb. "Not for long, Dev," he teased. He too, knew the bars well enough to climb it with ease. "There, now you're not bigger than me."
"Vinny cheated! No fair!"

'Zuba smiled, chuckling at the little scene. "How'd Vinny cheat? He can come up here too." she said, ruffling the little dark elf's hair. "Wasn't too high for him." She moved over a bit so Vinny would have room to sit comfortably. "Like the view?" she asked, looking down to the younger boy, smiling at him before looking out on the rest of the park.

"Vinny cheated," Devin insisted, crossing his arms and sticking out his lower lip in an adorable pout. "He cheated. He get up here tho fatht cuz he lotth bigger than me and it not fair. No fair." he would have continued to pout, if he hadn't glanced around the park. They were so high! Higher than the birds! Higher than--everything! A look something like awe came over his face. "Ooooh. We really high, Mommy! Really really high!" He silently wondered if they could touch the sky from this height; though he didn't quite dare to stand up to test it.
Vincent smiled, and sat next to his friend. "I always cheat," he told 'Zuba with a smile. "It's no use trying to convince him otherwise. We've tried. I think anyone who beats him cheats, though."
