Almost as if he had been summoned by Uuni's thoughts Panata appeared on the horizen, his quick steps rather jerky as he tried to make his way over without spilling any water all over the ground or on himself. He'd already been splashed a few times, the front of his robes covered in little puddles, but for the most part he'd arrived at the lake with a good amount.
"Sorry for taking so long!"
His voice chirped over the long distance as he made his way closer, finally reaching Uuni's side after a few more strides. It didn't look like they'd been waiting too long, Panata was thankful to having learned the shortcuts from a friend, so he smiled happily as he held the pitcher out towards the two women. There were no cups, he hadn't thought to bring them, but who really needed cups? At the Weyr, eventually everyone shared the same germs at least once.

Daeluin followed Uuni's example and stripped her feet of her shoes. Now that felt good! Daeluin sighed with relief. Even though she looked tough, she had not really realized just how hard she had been working. Releasing her feet to the cool air (and the colder water!) felt amazing! Rather than wade out to find a rock to sit on, Daeluin stood in the shallows where the water lapped at her calves.
The arrival of the water boy was most welcome. Daeluin /was/ thirsty. But, she let Uuni have the first drink, then motioned for Panata to take his fill. They both seemed worse for the wear than she did.
"Either of you have any idea when we're supposed to head back?" Lulu inquired, looking back over her shoulder at where they had come from. By no means was she eager to return to chores, but nor did she want to upset or disobey the candidate master.

Uuni never had been particularly worried about germs. Pern had a significant lack of the worst kind of diseases - at least, the ones she would have to worry about.
She was full of pleasant energy when Panata brought the water in. "Mmm. . . thank you." It was hard to not want to drink it all, but she contented herself with only a few sips. She didn't want to gut to rage and to end up chumming the fishes.
When she'd finished, she handed the water back to Panata.
With a glance towards Daeluin, she shook her head. She didn't have the slightest. "Maybe a tenth of a candlemark?" she offered back, laying back down over the rock surface now that she'd quenched her dry throat.
"Panata?" she prodded, hoping he might have more information.

"If I'm not mistaken, he said twenty. It's already been a bit though, so we may need to head back soon."
Panata took the pitcher and give himself a little drink, sputtering a bit at the cold that invaded his stomach like an anvil. It always made him ache to drink so quickly after moving around rapidly, and he marveled at how well the two girls before him seemed to have cooled off. They didn't look bothered in the least!
Almost as if to make the topic move a bit, other than on the time until they had to get back to that hard labor, Panata softly cleared his throat.
"The hatching is really soon, isn't it? I've never stood before."
