Yesterday when we went to the mall (of 4 floors... never been to such a huge mall before...) we saw a tiny little store and in the back corner of it there was a journal with a ball-joint-lolita doll on the cover of it. I was all o.O <(oro?)
I think a lot of them are sort of creepy but that's because dolls in general creep me out a lot. They're so expensive though, aren't they? Dang. I'd be afraid of breaking it ever 25 seconds [and a half!]. I have seen a few neat ones though. Like on deviantart.com and the such. But...some of the ones that I see online are...the scariest.. Haha.

oooo! Huge mall! They're expensive because they're each hand cast. It's an incredibly expensive hobby. But the dolls aren't nearly as fragile as they look. (well...some are but mine aren't) One of mine has a tiny chip on the top of her head (under the wig) where I accidentally dropped her on a radiator in my parents house. They're actually pretty sturdy though.

Oh, good. Because if something is expensive then you want it to last and everything too. smile

I gotta say, they are rather more study than they look.
@ Mitsune: I love how customizable they are! It's the whole reason they're so unique. Every doll looks different even if they were all the same original mold!

@ Mugoi Oh Mugoi! I have a website with wigs for your Ball and Joint dolls for under $20 if your interested, or anyone else who is interested. Also, there is an artist here at Manoa that specilizes in Ball and Joint Dolls.
Cool huh? :3

Milanoo.com . I got some pretty sweet Lolita there! Be prepared to wait a bit after you order though, and you have to sign for your package since it is from China. The artist just, I believe, takes photographs and possibly makes clothing for them. I just read it on a flier. I think it's cool, but I can't believe it's her major. I mean, I could understand if she made the dolls or painted them or something but yeah. Best of luck to her I say! mugoi_usagi Thanks! What's the site? That is pretty cool! Do they make them? She's majoring in it?! Wow...that's a REALLY specific major. Kind of limiting too... It's funny that you say I'd have to wait and sign because when ordering anything doll related, that's the general assumption because most of the stuff comes from Asia. This site looks pretty cool though! Thanks! Yamaxchan Milanoo.com . I got some pretty sweet Lolita there! now here's a thread i can totally get into. hehehe...
so, i used to have about 8 BJDs, now, im down to 4 and 2 floating heads...as strange as that sounds. hehe heres some pictures:
this is Zer0. She is a steam-driven robot. she's mute and just about the most adorable thing ever. this is Valerian, Vale for short. He hates people, dogs, life in general. this is Sashi. she's a main character in a story im writing. she is also my main rping character, sort of like my alias i spose. (she has a lot of mods like Mugoi_Usagi had mentioned people doing to their dolls.) lastly, since i dont have any shots of my floating heads, this is Zoe.

I have fallen in LOVE with BJD's--and I don't even have one yet! It doesn't help the fact that I'm a poor college student. SO annoying, and saving is slow. . . Congrats to all you lucky people who can afford one!

Lol those of us who have them...well, we scrimp and save for them too. I have another one that I want but have to wait...probably a year before I'm financially stable.
