It was apparent to whatever bystander that Gackt was clearly nervous about something; whether it was an unfamiliar feeling or an event that had taken place prior to his arrival at the club, Hyde wasn't so sure. He ignored the obvious signs and stubbed out his cigarette. Gackt still wasn't looking at him.

The song ended then, which to Hyde's opinion, was much of a relief as he couldn't quite pinpoint on what it was called, nor did he care to. He raised his eyebrows slightly before lowering them and gritted his teeth in aggrivation as Yuuyami Suicide came on; Kirito's voice had always bothered him and he was unsure as of why. Gackt didn't seem to notice the change in music, however.

What seemed to be more interesting was that Gackt, albeit silent, was gazing at Hyde with the most indifferent of expressions, but something about his eyes (oh god they were never this blue before why isn't he wearing sunglasses like he usually does has he forgotten all about them) made the singer feel uneasy. He had seen those eyes many times in his life, but only recently in a dream.

God. What is he thinking about?

The dream had taken place only two and a half weeks after he divorced Megumi. He slept on a bed of grass and straw, without a care in the world (ironic that I was dreaming about sleeping) when a sylvan, genderless creature came up and crept to him. The androgyne, as childishly pure as a kitten, bent down and stroked his hair lightly. Hyde woke (in the dream, that is) to a pair of violet eyes, so lust-filled and jaded. They weren't the eyes of an androgynous child.

Who are you? Hyde had asked the slender beauty.

The child blinked once but the decadent gaze didn't vanish and he smiled covertly.

Hello, Hideto, said It. My name is Arian. And to answer your question, yes I am male.

Hyde studied the slender figure, the waist-long black hair and the short, thigh-length kimono. He doubted Arian's word, but felt wise as to not disagree.

I am more than I appear.

So you are, the vocalist growled. So you are. What in the hell are you doing here, anyway?

But Arian didn't answer, didn't even look at him and only turned away. His delicate hand clutched at his throat, as though suicidially strangling himself. The amorous expression wavered for only a second before he turned back to Hyde and smiled once more. He bent down and lifted Hyde's chin with only one finger.

My lifemate loves you, he purred. O, how he talks about you, how he wishes you were only here to see him.

I never knew you were gay, Hyde said and immediately regretted it, but Arian didn't take offense.

Indeed I am! The pleasures of the female flesh never satisfied me.

Hyde raised his eyebrows. So how can "the pleasures of the male flesh" please you instead? I never understood how anyone could like men.

Arian's sly look faltered and he only looked stunned. But surely there is a male you wish to lay with, is there not?

Yeah. When Hell begins snowing and penguins are Lucifer's supreme army.

The boy frowned at that and stood up. Then prepare to make ice sculptures and snow forts with the Prince of Darkness, you arrogant b*****d! His mouse-quiet drawl became a loud, dragon-like roar as he pushed his shoulders back and stood facing forward the singer. Hyde had now stood up as well, but it was more out of fear and shock, instead of rage. He blinked.

What the hell are you going about, kid?

But Arian shook his head and swatted the loose strands of hair out of his face. Never you mind, Hideto.

Hyde eyed the kid warily. Yeah...sure. If you say so.

Hideto, the boy drawled again, what is precious to you?

Who are you, Dark Chi? What's precious to me are the people I love and my career as a singer! What the ******** do you think is precious to me?

What about Ganymede? Arian purred.

Ganymede?

My apologies. That is simply the name I have given a friend of yours. He moved forward now, barely an inch from the singer's face. Undoubtedly, you would recognize this picture. Tall, brown-haired, wears sunglasses. He forbids to tell anyone his true name and lies about his age, adding four-hundred and thirty-three years to it.

Hyde scowled at the kid. Why the hell did you give Gackt a Greek name?

Ah! Arian took a step back and clapped his hands once in glee. So you recognize my lover!

Your-the ********> Hyde was now beyond scowling, and was close to throttling somebody-but whether it was Arian for being such a snot-nosed jackass or Gackt for not mentioning that he was gay, he wasn't so sure. Did you ******** rape the poor b*****d or something?

Rape? Dear me, no, not at all. Arian shook his head. I enticed him, simply, by wearing a cloak of eagle-feathers. He was resistant, the poor dear, and struggled, but once I had him in my clutches, I would not let him go. Much like Zeus when he kidnapped beautiful Ganymede, no?

Hyde was still glaring.

Arian sighed and looked away. He plopped down by a pond and studied the fish that swam gracefully in the water. Quite a pity. He loves you, but he does not love me. He turned to face the surprised man, with tears running down his face. Ah! How I care for him, how I bring him beauty, jewels, immortality-but nothing sates him except for the sound of your voice. I have pondered on why he would love such a mortal, but such is life. He shrugged and finally stood up, brushing his kimono with his small, pale hands. He turned away, facing to the north of the path that he stood, but he turned around suddenly, and looked at Hyde once more.

You're not lying to me kid...are you?

Arian shook his head; indigo-black hair flying this way and that. I would never lie to someone who would make my lover so happy. The truth of the matter is, Hideto...I am sleeping with Gackt. He does love you and I love him. I would hate for him to be gone from my bed, but I must sacrifice my needs to only have him smile once more.

But ah! I forgot why I was here for only a second.

Let me ask you this, Hideto...what is precious to you?

Is Gackt...precious to you?

Do you love him, like he loves you?

Ponder on that for a while.

When you have come to the right answer, come see me again and Gackt will be yours once more. Yours to laugh, to cry, to lay with. He would be yours, mind, body and soul.

If sorrow and joy live in one heart, who would reign supreme?

What I mean, Hideto, is would it sadden me to see Gackt with you, or would I truly be happy because he is happy? He shrugged again and took a step forward, facing away. I suppose we will have to wait and see, now will we?

I must bid you adieu, Hideto. I am very sure we will see each other again.

I must go back to my beautiful nymphetamine, but I shall not mention this encounter to him. He would only be angry that he hadn't a chance to see you.

Heed my words Hideto and may I warn you, he turned once and his violet eyes were bright with anger. Should I allow him back in your arms, in your bed, in your heart, and you do one thing to damage his spirit, I will kill you. I will destroy your life as you had destroyed my beloved's, and only Lucifer himself will deal with such a sinner like you.

But as I do not hope to happen, he turned once again and began walking, I will be keeping a close eye on you, should my Ganymede return to you. Again, I bid you farewell, Hideto, and I only hope to see you again.

Confused, stunned, and close to swearing, Hyde could only watch the beautiful child walk off into the forest before he woke up for good this time.

The hell just happened?

He wasn't sure if it had been real (God my friend is in love with me and sleeping with some young inhuman kid) and only prayed to the highest diety that Gackt was all right and happy somewhere, far from Arian.

But deep in his heart, he knew that the young androgyne was real.

The Dark Chi reference:
In the manga of Chobits, Dark Chi (also known as Freya), asks Hideki "What is precious?" I just decided to be funny and have Hyde not only remember that part, but also compare Arian to Chi's "sister."

Hyde didn't want the dream turning out to be a reality, because:
A) He dislikes/fears Arian.
B) He (and this is the main reason) believes that Gackt doesn't love him, but should Arian be right, he isn't so sure if he could handle that his friend is madly in love with him.

So yeah...^^; I think I'm a bit messed up, but this is where the plot comes in!

(Maybe I should have introduced this in chapter two or three, but chappie two is in Gackt's point of view, so maybe not).

How did Hyde recognize Gackt from Arian's descriptions?

Does Hyde have any other friends that have brown hair and sunglasses? Maybe...but it's really not explained, but Arian can bring images to the mind by placing a hand on someone's forehead. He gave Hyde a mental image of Gackt...yeah, I just thought of this now. ^^;

"What is precious to you?" This chapter should have been titled that, instead of Nymphetamine, but oh well. Like I said, Arian knows what Hyde truly feels for Gackt and is asking, "Are friends and fame really what is precious to you? What about your friend that loves you?"

Anyway, this is still in the first chapter, so keep that in mind, okay?

"I don't know why he would love such a mortal, but such is life."

It will come up in the book, but Arian really isn't the fourteen years that he appears to be. It doesn't come up until much later on what he really is; Arian has had his heart broken before and he's just grown used to it. He's saying, "Dunno why he'd love you instead of me, but oh well. I'm used to it."

Really, the whole point of the story is supposed to be bizarre. What the whole plot is about (and yes, I shall spoil):

Hyde and Gackt get together (not for a while, though) and try to break off Gackt's betrothal to Arian while finding a suitable husband for him.

"Hyde?" Gackt peered down at his friend, as concerned as Hyde had ever seen him. "Are you okay? You're...you're quieter than usual."

But the singer only waved him off, shaking his head to finally be rid of the dream. Arian's decadent violet eyes didn't waver from his sight. He felt as if they were watching him from behind, glaring lightly at the singer. Though Hyde was certain that Arian, should he be real, wouldn't be at a club where he could be noticed. (though what if he uses magic to make himself look like a different person and why would he be here anyway)

Remember our promise...Hideto.

"Hyde?" Gackt's voice was a bit louder this time and Hyde finally looked up at him. The brunette (the color does look good on him I don't know why I dyed my hair blond this time) was gazing around him, as though

(oh no not possible) (1)

as though he noticed that someone was here, as though he felt Arian's prescence. Hyde turned to where Gackt was staring at (near the door that was by the bar); to his fear and distaste, the androgyne was watching them, this time clad in a long, blue gown with a silver tiara in his hair. Hyde was faintly surprised that the boy was wearing a dress, but he had a feeling that Arian had been cross-dressing anyway, so it didn't matter. On his face was the oddest of expressions-it was a close mix between anger and sorrow...and desire? He was certainly breathing heavy. (2)

Gackt never looks at him that way...does he? Hyde thought. But the damn b*****d not only kidnapped my friend, but he also implied that I could be abusive. That son of a b***h! Without thought, he grabbed Gackt's head with both hands and

kissed him fully on the mouth. It was only for a second and Gackt pulled away, with his crystal-blue eyes alight in surprise and he looked like he was about to burst into tears. He wasn't the only one; Arian had the exact same expression, but he was actually crying this time. Before Hyde could say anything to console (console? He -stole- my friend and came to me in a dream and was all, "Hey, I'm marrying your best friend but you have to love him because I say he loves you!" Damn jackass), Arian had already fled the club, unnoticed by anyone. (4)

(1) The reason why the thoughts are like that, uncapitalized and without punctuation, is because...Stephen King does that in a few of his books, notably Carrie, so I just adopted it as well. sweatdrop I thought it was cute!

(2) Hyde and Gackt are wearing tight pants and revealing shirts. Arian's a gay boy. Yup...you think he wouldn't be turned on in the least? Oh well. ^^;

(3) Yup, Hyde's true desires are taking over. That...and the fact that he wants to piss Arian off. Well, most of him did. The more romantic part of him felt guilty, hence the part where he almost consoled him. Gackt's upset because he thinks that Hyde doesn't love him and is only taking advantage of the situation to piss Arian off. So basically...Gackt just thinks that it's only to get back at Arian. It's going to be explained in the second chapter. Of course, Arian's upset because Hyde's kissing his man. And yes, Arian has told Gackt that Hyde -does- love him, but Gackt doesn't want to believe it. Why? It'll be explained in chapter two.

(4) Arian can make himself invisible to anyone that he doesn't wish to be seen by. Did I mention that Arian can do a ton of magic? Well, he can.

(5) Not a number in there, but if I mentioned that Hyde's hair was brunette before, I changed my mind. Hyde is blond in here, (you know, like Moon Child?) ^^; Sorry!

(6) Oh yeah, one more thing. Arian's very formal. He calls Hyde by his real name, Hideto, and dubs Gackt as Ganymede. Thought that warrented attention.

(7) "Gackt never looks at him that way, does he?"

Meaning, that as Arian's looking at the two with some desire, (and yes, Hyde does notice...don't ask me how he knew, he just does), he remembers that Gackt doesn't love Arian (Gackt doesn't have a shota complex, in other words) and would never look at him sexually. Yup. That's what the line means.
