"Really? Okay, I'll give you one of our recipes for something. Is there a certain kind of food you especially like?" Sammi didn't tell him that she would probably have to translate and rewrite them from their original elvish. At least that would give her something to do. "Maybe we could make something together, you know... as friends." Maybe she'd go back to her Kitty, too. He was better looking than Aaron--but wasn't he getting married? ...Maybe Milo? But he was too little... Lame. "Like cake or cookies."
Reiya wasn't sure she trusted Darcy, but a slow smile crossed her face. "It's okay. Sammi's had crushes before--on Aunt Risa's fiancee or whatever he is. I bet you've met him too."

Aaron smiled. "I eat pretty much anything. I'm not picky." he said, offering a smile. If he'd known how much effort would be put into translating the recipes, he probably would have politely denied, not wanting to put her through all that work. But, alas, he didn't know. "And that would be nice." Though, he didn't mention that his desserts usually turned out disastrously. Hey, he could try!
Darcy chuckled. "That I have." she said, looking amused again. "He's quite protective of her. Violent, too. No once she had a crush on him. Typical bad-boy persona."

Sammi gave a more genuine smile. The promise of being able to bake something with a friend was nice; even if she wasn't exactly interested in their relationship remaining as 'just friends'. The poor girl, she hadn't listened to her mother when Thali had told her she was too young to be interested in boys.
Reiya grinned. "Yeah," she said with a nod. "He's really protective. I never saw what Sammi and Aunt did in him, though." Of course not. Reiya had yet to become interested in men. Currently she considered them boring creatures of some subhuman race. Well, dad, Josh and Vinny weren't included in this.

Aaron smiled; she seemed a bit happier, which was good. He wasn't too good with sad people. He stirred the stew, keeping it from burning over the open fire. "More stew?" he offered, ladling out another bowl for himself.
Darcy chuckled. "Neither did I, Reiya. Honestly, he's not much different from your common human male." he said, shrugging. This excluded her brother, of course. She held him in higher esteem than she did most people, even if she rarely let it show.

"Yes please," Sammi said gratefully. "You're a really good cook, Aaron." Maybe if she complimented him enough, he'd like her back? Hm. She hoped he would. "Hey Aaron? Maybe we could hang out sometime, as friends. Not only for a meeting or something like that. For fun."
Reiya shook her head. "He is nice, though. As an Uncle, I mean." She felt the need to come to his defense. "And what do you mean about humans? My dad's awesome." Of course, even if he wasn't human, he would have been awesome.
