She didn't even KNOW her friend liked him.
Also, just from past expiriences...people dislike being 'claimed.'
I was 'claimed' once and it just ******** made me rage.

Yeah, I had no idea. She hasn't mentioned it to me at all. I have no idea what to do now because even though she hasn't told me I still feel like a jerk for even liking him. I want to ask him to chill with me on Friday but ******** I don't know what to do.

I agree with Mary and Streetlights here.
Honestly, it's a tricky situation, and you should ultimately do what is best for YOU, because you're the one living your life. But two questions- how important is the friend to you, and how important is the guy? Weight that against itself before you make a final say.
And I think I'll share you a little phrase Ethan gives me a lot- Make the choice you won't regret living with. If you won't regret going for the guy, then by all means do it! If you think you will, then maybe you should talk to your friend first.
True that you didn't know then, but if you do know now, you lay in sketchy territory. I think you should at least give it some thought.
