I never knew any of that but usually bands have different names before they hit "big time" so it's not really surprising

yeah. they were called xero, then they were called hybrid theory and then they were called linkin park. x_X;

i heard that they were called Xero in teh begining or something, but then some band said taht it was their name first. when chester joined, he said why not call it linkin park, because there was a park near his house CALLED linkin park.. cool music music cool u teach all taht i know cool

chaosmonger666 i heard that linkin park was once called Xero, plus i have sum mp3s that i downloaded that have the artist labeled as linkin park-xero could anyone confirm this for me or disprove it. it's driveing me crazy domokun ninja yeah u know its not the firts time i heard that

Here's how it goes.
Everybody was in a different band
Chester was in "Grey Daze".
Brad and Rob were in a band called "Relative Degree"
(Note : Brad, Mike, and Rob all went to the same highschool)
They joined Mike to form "SuperXero" but settled for (the name) Xero. In college, Mike met Joe and asked him to join.
Phoniex was in a band called "Tasty Snax" which later became "The Snax"
As the "Xero" happened, the original lead singer, Mark Wakefield, left the band.
Chester left Grey Daze and joined "Xero"
They then changed their name to "Hybrid Theory"
But Phoenix couldn't do bass, so that's not him on Hybrid Theory EP.
Phoenix was temp. replaced with Scott Koziol (who you see in the "One Step Closer" music video)
In 1999, they were going to get sued by a band called "Hybrid"
Chester decieded on "Lincoln Park" because their was a "Lincoln Park" everywhere, but due to the amount of copyright and the domain name known as "lincolnpark.com" they just changed the spelling to "Linkin Park"
And that's the story. Wasn't that fun? Let's try something else

Airazor Yup, they used to be called Xero before they were called Hybrid Theory. They changed their name to Linkin Park when Chaz joined. 3nodding Yuppiez n thats when all the fun started when Chazzy Chaz came 3nodding
