"Pretty weird for gangs if it is. I mean what kind of gang wears sailor suits?" Laser tag was probably the best of the unsatisfying explanations he'd heard for some of the special effects it sounded like people were pulling off, but he still wasn't quite sure. "Maybe it's a big wind up for something, like some kind of stage production or movie..." He offered, though this suggestion seemed to him to hold just about as much water as hers. "Dunno. I haven't personally seen anything of it. Would probably make the week a little more interesting though." Man... if some of those sailor-nuts showed up during Gym Class... it would almost make it worth while listening to Shades and his 'This Is Sparta' style coaching.

"I hadn't heard anything about the sailor suits," replied Tallulah, "but that sounds like maybe they're just wearing modified school uniforms."
She frowned and sipped her tea. None of the explanations were satisfactory, but they'd just have to settle for them. "We can talk about conspiracy theories all we want," she said, "But it won't get us anywhere."
Besides, with conspiracy theories, the longer you talked, the stranger they tended to get, and the simplest answer was usually the correct one. It was a study habit rule, but it often applied to real life as well. Maybe this would be something interesting to study...?
"We could go over there one night and see what happens?" she suggested. This was a bit more daring than Tallulah was used to being, but it was in the name of science, and this was becoming more fascinating by the minute.

Uniforms. DUH. why hadn't he thought it might be uniforms? "Jeeze. I think I just Occams Razor-burn. I should have thought of that. Someone said they were wearing something like a sailor suit, and I didn't even put two and two together." He gave an exaggerated face-palm and sighed at his own stupidity. "Maybe it's just a bunch of uber-repressed Crystal girls." He suggested. "...Sure. I'd definitely be game for checking it out. Too many weird stories, I wanna know someone's not just pulling my leg." If nothing else maybe he'd get some good inspiration for one of his stories. Truth being stranger than fiction and all that...although it wasn't like those things could -possibly- be real monsters. The idea of a pack of bicycle chain wielding Crystal girls forming a gang though was a real stitch.

"But the Meadowview uniforms are sailor suits," said Tallulah, sighing. "The Crystal ones are more European prep schooler..." Well, she thought, they did incorporate the collar, but that wasn't the point at all. But if they were wearing uniforms that didn't actually match any of the schools in town then it didn't matter at all. And the idea of a bunch of Crystal snobs duking it out was a little amusing...
"Yeah," she nodded. "Nothing like seeing for yourself to know for sure what's going on. I mean, it's probably nothing."
But what if it's something? she couldn't help but wonder.

"Yeah true enough. Damn. I dunno." he frowned, reconsidering his theory. He tended to consider both somewhat sailorish, but then he wasn't much for the heavy inspection of uniforms. A uniform was a uniform was a uniform. "Even if it's nothing it'll be fun to know. I'd certainly feel a lot less like I was missing out on some kind of huge joke." It did feel like he were missing out on something, sort of an 'outside the know' feeling, instead of the sort of vibe from a dumb prank. Maybe he was reading too much into it because he was bored. I mean how much conspiracy could this town possibly generate. Seriously.

"I'll definitely feel better once I have some idea of what's going on," agreed Tallulah.
It wasn't clear if she was about to say something else, but the waiter chose that moment to interrupt them with burgers and fries. "Enjoy!" he told them after setting the food down, and he was off again.
"Looks good!" she said, reaching for the ketchup. "What do you think?"

Jaimie raised his eyebrows and peered at the burger with an investigative, somewhat apprehensive look. The heck with people pretending to fight monsters. The real scary stuff was fake meat on a bun. Not that he was going to admit to being intimidated by reconstituted soy masquerading as ground beef. "Of the burger? Dunno." He admitted, debating and then pigeon-holing the idea of making a joke about it growing roots, though he gamely tried a bite anyway after his cautious investigation, before deciding that, yes, actually, ketchup might not be a bad idea. It wasn't -horrible-, but it didn't really match what he'd come to expect from the word 'burger', and he waited to borrow the ketchup and apply some when she was done.
