Munch munch munch!

Sweet Tymora, it's like he hadn't eaten in days!

Lance was gulping down snacks like there was no tomorrow. Training in the mountains like some cliché hero in a book made him forget how good stuff could taste. It's not like he didn't eat up there, but the food was lacking in quality...

Goddess, he imagined the thoughts of the other guests here was thinking about him. Feasting on snacks, while wearing the most formal clothes he had with him at the moment, with his almost shimmering green cape. Not to mention he had gone through quite the change since the last time people saw him, so he'd look like a stranger to most of them. Oh well, he had gotten a formal invitation regardless, so... Lance twirled his temporarily bleached hair and sighed. This is gonna be a pain getting out after this...but what don't I do for my costume?

His costume he was gonna wear at the Halloween party wasn't all that well thought out, but he hoped at least the change in hair color would be enough to raise an eyebrow.

He hadn't quite read up on what this party was about, so he didn't really know who the important guest was...nevertheless, what he did know was that he was some sort of influential person from a different country, meaning this was a kind of diplomatic occasion. As such, Lance took on clothes that he thought signaled formality, sporting a clean white and black outfit with gloves. If not for the scar, and the rings around his eyes due to his lack of sleep that night, he would've at least looked like a handsome nobleman.

Suddenly, when trying to grab a fruit, his hand touched another's, and his eyes trailed up the other individual's arm. A girl. With a hand on his food. He wasn't in a very great mood, so people trying to grab his food was...

"Oi...that one was mine." he almost snarled, his tired expression showing through in his speech.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 04, 2009 2:01 pm

"Oi...that one was mine."

Ed glanced up at a man she hadn't noticed before. Funny, she was sure she'd gotten that fruit first, and she was plenty sure he hadn't been there before. Or maybe she'd been too distracted by the Adlianian special guest to really notice.

Face shifting from confused to amused, Ed grinned slightly at the stranger and prodded another fruit toward him.
"Sorry," she said with casual leisure. Ed was quick to notice the seemingly exasperated tone and cocked her head. "Hungry, you know. It's the harvest and all."

She didn't move away nor show any signs of feeling affronted, rather reaching for another morsel of something to shove down. Ed ended up grabbing a cracker and snapping it in half with her teeth. "I'm surprised everything's so lavishly done; this year's been awful, you'd think the crops were sufferin'," she continued idly, conversationally. Trying to stir conversation was what let her at ease. Ed kept a check on her accent, making herself sound the way she usually did around the other guildmembers.

As she chewed away at the other half of the cracker, she wondered how her family fared. Despite the previous night there was no hint of disturbance on her face.

So this was where everyone was.

Roy had arrived at the castle, wearing dark clothes. The shirt had the first two buttons left undone, exposing the collar bone. Black gloves covered his hands instead of his usual blue ones. A black belt supported the black pants he was wearing, and to top it all off, black boots. He had attached a black devil's tail to the belt, and was also holding a black sash/scarf (whatever the hell it was called) around his arms (like the one his mother usually carried, but her's was blue. This one was black). There was also a black staff in his hand. Odd, considering he wasn't a magic user. The monocle didn't really help either.

He heard a small flutter of wings behind him and glanced up.

"Darko...you can't be revealing yourself here...it's too early for everyone to meet you, and I'm sure some of them will freak out at the party." he told the creature that had just landed on his shoulder.

Darko was a tiny bat-like imp. The young lord had befriended him just recently, while he was still out of the wilderness. To make a long story short how these two became friends, he had saved the imp from a tough situation, and now the little guy was following him. He didn't mind. It meant he wouldn't be so lonely anymore.

Darko slipped into the young lord's pants pocket before it chirpped up at the red head. He laughed softly before he gave the staff a twirl. He had his sword on him , but he sure as hell didn't want to carry something that would contrast his costume. After all...it was Halloween. Why couldn't he wear something dark for a change?

With Darko hidden, Roy entered the castle and found himself at a party. Well, good thing he was dressed out of his usual attire. He glanced around, looking for his family. But it was tough, considering one of them was a shota and was tiny compared to the rest of the people. And there was no sign of his mother either. He sighed wearily. There would always be more chances in the future.

His stomach grumbled a little, and he felt Darko shift around in his pocket to look up at him.

"Fine...we'll get some food." he told the imp.

He then made his way over to the food table, where Lance and Ed were at. While he never got to know Lance, he was at least familiar with the wolf girl. They had met a few weeks back with the Tura incidence, but he hadn't really seen her since. Lance had called Ed out on eating something he was about to grab, but there wasn't much of an argument outside of that. Roy instead tossed a few crackers into his pocket to feed the imp (he sure as hell hoped the little guy wasn't going to be a messy eater this time. It was a pain to wash clothes). After hearing a quiet, but cheery chirp from his pocket, he helped himself to some fruit and meat.

He glanced around once more, looking for other familiar people. Sue and Rath were with a third nomad that he couldn't recognize. Perhaps a friend of theirs? There was Blossom talking to Tibarn, and Ephraim wasn't too far away. Leon was making his way to the cafe to pick up some sweets (of course...who couldn't resist sweets?), and Isadora was helping around, making sure the party was going according to whatever plan they had.

Hey, it was the Harvest festival. Might as well enjoy it.

And there it was. All that was needed to change mood was someone not lashing back at him. He knew inside him that he kind of deserved getting reprimanded, but when in a bad mood, seeing someone smiling casually can take it all away. "Nah...I should be sorry. I...didn't mean to lash out...didn't get much sleep last night..." he said while rubbing his nose bridge.

Lance enjoyed the brief silence as he brought up the fruit and took a bit, while she got a cracker. When she spoke back, she brought up a topic he didn't really have any knowledge in, but he could still probably find a comeback to it.
"Oh, I wouldn't know...as far as I could tell, this place always experiences 'awful' stuff, it's like it's become the norm. I wouldn't be surprised if nature adapted to it, making the year pretty bountiful despite all that." he said as he smiled vaguely. His head was hurting...seriously, if he saw Aidan, he'd strangle him for cooking the other day. His first meal after coming back to civilization, and he gets nightmares from it. Or a flashback of his memories. The line between them were blurry.

Either way, he stretched out his hand, and took off the glove on that hand, common courtesy, he was told. Not that he knew if this girl knew that ethiquette, but if she did, he didn't insult her. "Lance Dartel, entrepreneur. You?"

"Ah!" The man boasted, after the nomadic girl finished speaking. "So you are the little one! He has spoken proudly of you to me! Hwah ha! And I can see in your eyes, that you are everything he has claimed you to be." He reached up his hand and patted her on the head.

Turning to the crew, he then placed his hand on his belly. "Well, as much as it would be a pleasure meeting all your kind peoples, I have traveled a fair distance, and would very much like to have something to eat. Learanian dishes first! Hwah ha ha!" He then began to make his way over to the long table that was obviously prepared for the crew and certain others, to find his seat. "Come, my friends! The appetizers look delicious!"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 04, 2009 2:38 pm

"Well, it is made by our own crew Tibarn. He wants to make sure that you have an excellent meal for this banquet." Isadora replied as she followed Songhua.

Somehow, she was thankful that Tibarn did a last minute checking on the food course. Who knew what would happen if Vaida or Ayra snuck into the kitchen? It was a good thing Tibarn had asked for soldiers to guard the kitchen while Heath kept Vaida at bay. However, she had been informed that they had to keep changing the soldiers whenever the Swordsmaster was in her.... bad mood.

The paladin looked around the area. So far, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Some would be munching their food and others having conversations. She had also heard the musicians began to play a festive song for the people to dance. So far, there was no trouble among the party.

Ed glimpsed a redhead nearby and immediately recognized the person as Roy. She waved, not caring whether or not he noticed (she was getting kinda used to being invisible sometimes) and then turned her head when she heard the man speaking. Ed honestly hadn't expected him to reply, but as soon as she heard his tone of voice, she believed that he was a good man. Glad to converse with such a person, she took another cracker and nodded as he spoke.

Awful stuff. Yes, they had been experiencing some troubling things as of late. With the God of Chaos defeated, Ed wanted to believe they could relax -- but it seemed to her that things tended to happen around certain fire festivals that her family used to celebrate. What was the next one? Sow-wen? (Spelled Samhain, really.) Some people called it Hallow's Eve, some Halloween, but their last Halloween was pretty chaotic.

Ed took another look at their surroundings. Everything was peaceful and joyous, but the Guildaversary had begun in that manner, and so did all the parties before that. It was...just a recurring pattern. There were few parties that ever ended without chaos, usually the Host Club parties... Ed faintly remembered the perturbing dreams from the previous night and decided to take it as an omen. She wished she had taken her sword with her, or maybe her friend's dagger...

The contemplation was clear on her face as she nibbled the cracker. Then the man extended his hand in a rather formal greeting, and she glanced at it with mild surprise, then up at his face. Suddenly, Ed was somewhat conscious of her own manners and choice of apparel. She grinned almost sheepishly at Lance Dartel and took his hand in a gentle shake.

"People just call me Ed," she answered cheerily. "Funny name, I know."

An outburst caught the girl's attention and she glanced back to the source. She saw their special guest patting someone on the head -- Sue? -- and then move toward the table, laughing heartily. Ed blinked with intrigue toward the man.

"Huh. Sure wish I knew who he was."

Joshua walked in through the castle doors dressed in his usuall robes and old tattered hat. He would have been wearing his royal finery but he had sold it to buy a sword and specially tailored clothes that he had worn during the war of the stones.

He looked around interessdly at the people around him looking for an easy mark. Everyone around him was dressed all fancy despite him being under dressed Joshua still looked good... if he would have taken off his hat... instead the tall red-head looked extremly out of place he didn't really care though.

"Hmmm.." Joshua hummed as he pulled a coin out of his pocket and lazily tossed it in the air the coin made a slow arc as it came down into his out streached hand.

"Tails.. guess lucks not going to be with me tonight." He muttered shaking his head amd walking up to the banquet table where others were standing. He still didn't know anyone except the myrmidon who had explained to him where he was... but he didn't see him around just yet.

"I still don't understand why we're here.. I thought you hated clubs.. you rember the anti-club?" Derrin said as the two walked into the party.

"I do! Consder this reconissence! As the leader of the anti-club I must charge straight into battle!" The myrmidon was dressed like he always was along with Derrin the two still had no money and therefore didn't have any fancy clothes.

"Erm.. okay... So what do we do now.. We dont really know anyone and this is my first party." Derrin didn't like people so he never went to social gatherings. The only reason that he had come was because Jaren threatened to burn down the house if he didn't come.... "Hed do it to." Derrin thought as the pair stood akwardly at the doors.

Before I can doubt my memories
My memories are doubting me...

I'm going to kill Large. I'm going to kill that little shrimp, with that stupid little smirk and the puffed out peacock swagger and... rrrrgh.

Annis stood a few yards to the side of the entrance into the ballroom, arms folded over her generous bust. Normally, attending a dance like this wouldn't exactly be a problem. Put on a dress, lace up the corset over it, and head on in. It wasn't really wearing heels that was her problem--she had a fairly good sense of balance, after all--but the attire she found herself in was too much.

Someone might have told her that she was asking for it, what with that bet she and Large had made, but Annis didn't care. If he had lost, it would have been worth it.

But now, all she wanted to do was take his dagger and insert it into a new sheath, preferably one located in the seat of his pants.

Her long black skirt swished around her legs, sweeping the tops of her black boots. The red overskirt gathered around her hips matched the shade of red of her low-cut shirt, the ruffles barely increasing the amount of skin up top that actually got covered. The outfit only had a cincher, not a corset, and Annis had to resist the urge to cross her wings in front of herself and hide, what with all of the pale skin revealed up north. Large had specifically stated she had to be seen in public for a certain amount of time in these clothes, and then went and hammered the nail in her coffin by adding that she had to arrive here in this dress, too.

I'm going to kill him. I'm so going to kill him.

Annis silently strode into the ballroom, tension crackling around her like a smoldering flame. Tucked under one arm was a thick wooden tray, ostensibly one used for carrying drinks or food; she had to complete the image of a bar wench, as Large told her. To be polite, she ought to have greeted their special guest, but at the moment, Annis didn't quite feel like it.

Probably would have been best to not talk to someone important when you feel angry enough to slam a tray over someone's head, anyway.

Annis put her tray down near the other refreshments and picked up what looked to be a meatball of some kind. She studied it for a moment, then bit into it and chewed in silence.

Melethia walked into the place and was really sure she was dressed for the event. It was really for her Halloween costume too. All she had to do was put the wings she had made and instant angel! The whole angel costume idea was ironic in a sence, if one knew Melethia well enough.

Melethia had entered the room and walked her way to some food. She knew for some reason this was important, she just couldn't remember what at the moment. She was still thinking a little about the nightmare she had.

"Mel, you need to put that behind you." She told herself ,"You are at a nice party. Have a little enjoyment." (not that kind of enjoyment people)

As Melethia go to the table she pick up some of the fruit and started eating it.

"Yum." She said. It wasn't strawberries but hell, she was liking it.

I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae
Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another!

~)Sue(~

Sue was just about as surprised as Rath was when she saw the Chieftain being so... informal. Granted, the man wasn't what she expected, but it was a good thing. She'd had enough of elders who acted like they were born with a an arrow stuck up their... wait, this was the elders she was thinking about!

All around, there were familiar faces. There was Nils, the crewmember amongst the Host club that she flashed a smile towards before she noticed General Roy, Lance (by his face, his hair color didn't change him), Ed, and of course Isadora.

The crew were no doubt about to speak to the Chief about... crew duties, so Sue let herself wander, waving to them. "King Tibarn, I'll be sure to taste your cooking!" she exclaimed fondly.

The female nomad wandered to the dishes, having trouble picking between them. Of course she couldn't eat them all... she hadn't the stomach of some of FEF's... larger members. FD was one who came to mind. All the while, she was wondering who she'd see next.

No time to be lazy
The journey is perfect
The pace is so crazy
The race is so worth it

◄AKIHI►◄ALIHI►◄AMARA►

"Whee~!" Amara ran around the ballroom, stopping every-so-often to stop and twirl around, examining the ballroom as she did so. A huge, black bow was tied in the back of her hair, keeping most of the red strands out of her bright, smiling face. She wore a loose, black sundress that stopped right at her knees, with a mantle that had the appearance of a ladybug's outer shell. The little girl was what she always was; energetic and completely adorable.

Her eyes widened a bit when she spotted someone that she knew. "Ephiiiiiiiiie!" She ran up to him and began to cling to his leg.

Meanwhile, Amara's mother, Alihi, flushed with embarrassment, palm of her hand pressed against her forehead. "Amara... calm down please..." She sighed heavily, then began to move to follow her wandering daughter. Her idea of formal dress wasn't actually too formal; instead of her normal white pants, she had a long, white skirt that nearly brushed against the floor as she moved. The tactician also ditched her signature cloak, and her brown belt that hung around her waist was replaced with a fancier gold one. From the belt dangled her rapier, sheathed but there just in case she found herself in a situation where she had to use it. ... I really hope not...

"... Uh..." Akihi blinked for a few moments before groaning to himself and drifting off towards the side. Great. His sister just left him to chase after Amara, when he knew absolutely nobody in the town! He was too shy to go and talk to anyone, though. Besides, he found himself stumbling over his deep, indigo robe, one that was nicer (and newer) than his usual one. He rather stay off to the side than to give the first impression of him being a complete klutz. Drat. Drat. Drat. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall, just observing from a distance.

I will be with you
We'll do this together
Always together

More people started to gather and Ephraim recognized some of them. There was Leon whom he had a run in during the anniversery, Blossom whom he already spotte. He recognized Sue but never actually got a chance to talk to her. New face showed up as well but for the most part, they were the same people. Oh? Joshua was here? That was something new, when did Jehanna's King get to Learannia? That was something new to Ephraim since he hadn't seen him since the battle against the dark god.

He scanned the room a bit more and spotted Alihi suddenly walking toward...him..? Ok, that can only mean one thing. "Hwa!" Ephraim cried out, nearly stumbling over the four year old girl that was now clinging to his leg. A little girl with red hair dressed as a lady bug. Ephraim couldn't help but cry out 'awww' in his mind. "I seem to have a little lady bug on my leg! But she's not so little anymore"

Ephraim picked her off his leg and held her in his arms. "Are you running from your mommy again?" he teased, knowing there was no way she would do that.

Leon was one of the first to turn his head to Annis, or rather, one of the first ones the raven slightly knew that turned his head to her. That face was not happy. It must have been the source of Large being so giddy and not telling him the reason why. It was no time for snide remarks... that was a look that could kill.

He tried to keep his eyes off the... revealed skin. Hard for a bachelor, but he had to show respect, no matter where he was. For the Divine Hero's sake, he believed in chivalry!

Words couldn't come out straight, no matter how hard he tried, there's nothing he could have said that wouldn't be awkward. Clearing his throat though, he did try his best to talk without setting Annis off. "Oy... I know ya prob'ly didn't wanna wear that by choice but... ain't th' party wha' counts?" That didn't sound bad, or at least he didn't think so.

We're part of a story, part of a tale...
... Sometimes beautiful, sometimes insane...

♫ ◄NILS► ♫

Nils bit his bottom lip in frustration as he stood on the balls of his feet, desperately trying to gain more height so his line of vision could be better. He wanted to see Ninian. He wanted to see his Nephew. Heck, he wanted to see FD as well.

I can barely see anything, though!! The bard mentally screamed as he began cursing his height. Oh, why was his human form so short?! It made times this this so much harder to deal with! "Where are you guys...?" He muttered under his breath, scanning the crowd for either red or light blue hair.

And then, as if his question was answered, he spotted Roy out of the corner of his eye. A bright smile came to his face and he quietly excused himself from his spot to go greet his Nephew. Why did he run off all that time ago? Where had he been? Around a million thoughts ran through his mind as his feet carried him closer and closer to the red-haired lord, but once he reached his destination, only one thought prevailed. "... You jerk." He reached up to wrap his Nephew in a headlock so that he could receive a well-deserved noogie.

... Or, at least the bard tried to. With his height being so... small, it was difficult. It's the thought that counts, though... right?

... No one remembers how it began...
