Pepper looked over and stared as Edes pretended to shoot a gun and then mock died. He moved over to where Edes was laying and pinned a hand on the kids chest to get him to stop moving.
"You'd be the worst Gang member only cause you look so innocent," he chuckled as he lowered his head down to stare at Edes, "But hey I could be your body guard and you'd never hafta worry, would you like that?" He asked as he leaned in closer and then grabbed the kids shirt with his teeth and yanked him up like a dog may. He made sure to be careful enough not to rip the fabric before releasing him.
"Why don't you get on my back? this may be faster." He offered.

Edes pouted, flailing a little more. "Hey!! I be good gang membah!! I'd rule dem ALL!" He giggled then nodded. "But Since Peppah is big and stwong, he can be body guard and den we'd rule together!!" He nodded, beaming at Pepper.
He was more than a little surprized when Pepper bit his shirt and picked up up by his teeth. "Oh.. I muz be puppy.." He murmured to him self, then let out a yip, before nodding, holding his sleeve-hidden hands to Pepper. "Oh.. Okies. I get on Peppah's back.
He shook the leaves off of him and hopped up, wrapping hia arms around Pepper's neck. Edes then bit his neck, giggling. "Now we eben!"

Pepper stiffened as he was bitten and he tossed his head a bit in agitation itching to get back at the kid but knew this would probably end in tears if he tried to get payback on him.
"Fine fine whatever you say Curly, but that isn't fair you bit my neck, I only bit your shirt. I say I get a chomp too." He stated as he stood up making sure to hold onto Edes's legs so that he wouldn't slip down off his back.
"Hold onto my shoulder bones, that way you won't choke me, unless that was your plan all along?" he inquired with a tease.

"But You no have no shirt, so I had to bite your neck." Edes argued, leaning his head on Pepper's shoulder, nuzzling it a bit. He was warm, a little hard, but warm. "Dat okies though, you can has a chomp! Den we be ebben!"
He shifted his hands, so that they gripped the bigger boy's shoulders, rather than his neck. "No wanna choke.. I no nebber wanna hurt anything." A soft sigh escaped his lips, knowing what he wanted isn't possible.

Pepper made a sound very close to a pfft noise.
"So? I have pants...wouldn't of that worked as an article of clothing?" He asked though as he glanced at them...they were ripped and torn and very dirty. Okay so many Edes had a point...he wasn't sure if he would be brave enough to test his teeth on that fabric.
"I promise I won't bite hard anyway," He stated as he gently lowered himself so he was closer to the ground so he could sniff around like a giant red dog. When he was finally able to pinpoint a spot that seemed like it was were Edes had come from he started along that way.
"so...you helped that..rabbit...why?"

"But pants not the same as shirt!" He pointed out, wiggling his feet back and forth. Edes tilted his head oncemore cuiriously, wondering why Pepper was sniffling at the ground.
"I help wabbit cause wabbit need help." There was a tone of confusion in his soft voice. "If anything needs help, I want to help it." To him, helping came natural. "Don't you wanna help People too?"

Pepper thought on his words a bit. Did he help people? He wondered if there was a difference between helping people and just being curious.
"Not everyone, some people don't deserve help.." He commented a bit slowly. His primary people in mind were the ones in white coats and Vampy. He wasn't so sure about the angels and demons...the angels he guessed were nice enough but they felt too.....nice. If that would be a possible thing. It unsettled him.
"What if that thing bit you? Wild animals can be dangerous...especially when hurt.." He added as he continued along the scent trail.

"Oh.. I see... If I get bite, my daddy be sad, and I be sad.. But I still help.." Edes pulled on hand away, pulling back the sleeve to touch his heart, or rather, the area where his heart was supposed to be. "When I see hurt or pain.. I have to help.. My own heart begins to hurt.."
He sighed, leaning against Pepper's back. Even if it was bony, it was still warm. "I tired... I try to stay awake.. But.. I tired now.. It like.. I run and run and run for along time.."

"Curly you can't fall asleep on me now, I won't recognize your dad..." he stated as he shifted the kid on his back, he was more worried that Edes may slip of and fall down...
He shifted so that he could reach a arm around and make sure that Edes didn't fall.
"Come on Curly ..uh...tell me about..your house..you have any siblings?" he encouraged trying to keep the kid awake.

Edes whined, he really wanted to sleep, but he nodded, struggling to keep his eyes open. "No have budder or sister.. But Daddy work at kiddy hospital, so I go see lots of kiddies. Dey say I brudder Angel, but dat not true, cause I both Demon and angel. Dey laugh and say I is silly."
He leaned back, just a bit, off of Pepper, pulling away from the warmth. He let the cold air hit his face, but that only helped a tiny bit to keep him awake. "What about Pepper.. he have any brudders?"

Pepper listened as best as he could as he followed the trail along. When they broke out of the forest and were now on an established trail he looked from side to side wondering if the parent would be nearby.
Darn...the subject turned on him. He wasn't a bit fan of discussing his own home life.
"Ah...no...no brothers...or sisters..." He stated slowly or father or mother for that matter... he thought to himself sadly though he wasn't going to let that bother him right now.
"Must be fun meetings lots of different people."

Edes let out a BIG yawn, then nuzzled Pepper's back. "Oh.. No siwbilngs? Dat okay. We can be brudders! Okay? I little Edes brudder, and you're big Peppah brudder. I only know.. three people from the Facility. So.. Not know many people.."
He looked around the trail, finding the place vaugely familiar. On a bench, not to far from where they were, was a really big blanket, folded rather neatly. "Der!! Dat's my blanket! Daddy will come back to der!"

Pepper nodded his head and moved towards the blanket. He was a bit unsure of calling Edes his brother...but at the same time what harm was there in doing that?
"Sure, I can be your big brother." He replied finally and he even nodded his head. Wouldn't be too bad having a little sibling. He considered Luthor his best friend quite possibly the closest person he had to be a sibling.
He lowered Edes to the bench where the blanket was and looked around not really up for meeting with Edes's guardian but sticking around to make sure he did come.

It was getting colder and colder by the minute, and yet Noel still couldn't be found. Edes was beginning to get worried. What if something happened to him?
He picked up the blanket, holding it out to Pepper. "You half nekkid.. You need to stay warm or you'll get sick." He smiled, patting the bench beside him. "Sit wid me until daddy comes?"

Pepper hardly noticed the cold, he blamed the rocks making his skin thick..or maybe it was his skull. Vampy often told him he was thick skulled. He moved to sit beside Edes and then moved to scoop him up and place him in his lap. That way they could exchange body heat and be able to make the best use of the blanket.
"There...now do you know where to go from here if you dad of sorts doesn't show?"
