Kiarei watched his fingers, counting down. When she saw how he called out the attacks to his Pokemon, she was impressed. It was very clever of him to use the Pokedex.
Mizu was right ready for the battle, however she was caught off guard by the speed of the Bulbasaur vine-whip, and it sent her flying back a few feet. She winced in a lotpain, but stood back up and growled.
Kiarei called out "Use Tackle!"
Mizu listened to her trainer and she charged at the Bulbasaur, hoping to knock it down.

Ezekiel's calculating eyes as he watched the two pokemon. He groaned silently as he saw his bulbasaur sprawl a few feet back from the tackle, but could only arch an eyebrow when he just go up, still grinning like an idiot.
"Leech seed" The attack sound out from the machine.
Palmer bowed his front legs and a seed popped up from the leaves covering his back seed. He shot three seeds towards the squirtle. If any make contact, they would spring into tangling weeds that cling for dear life.

Kiarei saw the attack coming, and yelled out "Dodge it!". Mizu must have heard her, for she saw her Pokemon jump to the side, avoiding the strange seeds.
Mizu was still weakened from the vine whip, and she figured she was lucky to have dodged it. Could Palmer really beat her...? She would NOT let that happen!
"Mizu, try Water Gun!" Kiarei knew that it probably wouldn't be that effective, but she didn't want to risk Mizu going in for another close attack.
The Squirtle responded, shooting a stream of water from it's mouth towards the Bulbasaur.

"Vine Whip." Came the response from the pokedex as the man stood as calm as ever.
Palmer once again pulled out his vines and lashed out throught the other's water gun attack, intending to hit to hit that mouth shut. "Bulbasaur!"

Before Mizu could react, the vine hit her and slapped her to the ground. She growled, and tried to force herself to stand back up, but she was having trouble. She knew one more attack would probably be enough to knock her out, but she couldn't let that happen!
Kia called out to Mizu once more "Mizu! Use another water gun!" She had to at least try, and give it her all. The whole point was for Mizu to lose, but at least they could gain some experience this way.

This time, the water gun hit Palmer, but it didn't do much damage as the happy-go-lucky grass pokemon seemed to enjoy the water.
"Vine Whip" The command came, Ezekiel seemed as calm as ever, not even flinching when his pokemon was hit.
The bulbasaur jumped up, vines flourishing out again and whipping through air, making it whistle as they tried to come down onto the water pokemon.
