Well he acctually turned into an assholish sadist AFTER he met up with Anita. I truely beleive it was her influence that turned him into it. What was really making him erk about his werewolfism was because Anita freaked out when he shifted on top of him (which I dont blame her for doing) and she went to the vampire cause he seemed less monsterous. I think another thing that helped drive her away was watching Richard eat Marcus's body.
gonk sweatdrop THAT really freaked and grossed her out. She knew that JC would never do something like that. He'd take blood yes but he'd never eat someone like Richard and his pack did.

But anyhoo, Richard then had a huge problem with Anita because after a while she became more comfortable with the monsters then most of the monsters were. That's cause she'd accepted that she had never really been human to start with.
3nodding I agree wholeheartedly with you one this. I mean, think about it. Hearken back to CoD, when Richard and Anita first met. He seemed comfortable with himself, and kept trying to convince Anita that lycanthropy wasn't a bad thing. Then, all of a sudden, the next few books show his hesitance....
because Anita thinks that he's a monster. Anita's reluctance caused his own doubts to gain strength, thus creating most of the problems that come from Richard.
But what I'm not seeing with Richard-Haters is logic. Logically, would any one of you feel calm and cool about killing someone? -on a monthly basis? Wouldn't you kind of freak out if you found out that your significant other was a trigger-happy nonhuman? And you STILL weren't getting some? (just kidding)
My point is that most people, when faced with the unknown, panic. They b***h and they whine and they try to cling to normalacy, and then harp on other people when they seem to be adjusting better than they are, or begin to conform to actions that go against what they believe to be right. Human nature.
That being said, I do dislike Richard. But at least I empathize with him.
