So how does an outfit like this go into the mix? Because to me this is mis matched.

Whoa. Forget my comment in the main thread. I like the edits you made to the outfit. I still wish that it matched a bit less, but your avatar has that "it factor" that draws my eyes to it.
And the wrinkles don't bother me as much now. XD; ...Though I still dislike them in general, I just see less of them. x3

I think he means too many different TYPES of textures.
I guess there are like
stripes, complex, plaid, smooth, prickly, etc, and you should choose only like one or two and work with that.
I know I'm not a lot of help, as I haven't even made a successful one myself...but hopefully that gets you in the right direction
