Lucia pursed her lips together in a grin as Zul appraised the picture with satisfaction. The penguin was adorable and the pair behind them looked just as cute. As he questioned what was next on her itinerary, the kitten didn't know what to think. He had let her drag them through the entire aquarium, ignoring everything else in her quest to see the penguins. Now that they had, Lucia wanted to repay him. "I don't have anything in mind. We'll do whatever you want to!" She smiled happily, "I'm sure you saw something cool as I pulled your arm out of the socket on my way here."

The kitten's eyes flicked back to the image. She would miss the penguin, but it's not like SHE could feed it. Or put it in her pocket and take it home. It was too big for that. The raevans stood out enough, without trying to kid - or - penguinnap the little guy. Then she had an idea. Unhooking the clasp that held her girly tuxedo tie in place, the kitten pulled it off of her neck in one fluid motion.

Without a word, Lucia slipped it around Zul's neck and knotted it once, not putting it in place, but like a loosened half-undone tie. The frei giggled, and looked up at Zul. "Now I don't need a penguin! I have you!" He looked a little silly in the undone black lacy tie with various black and white ribbons decorating it, but he was her penguin! Slipping her arm around his ribs, below his wings in a quick hug, she released him and slid her hand back into the crook of his elbow. "Lead the way!" she exclaimed with a spurt of giggles.

In response to the femme's playful words, he rolled his shoulder and gave her a rather amused grin. "Still in there," he replied in an almost lamenting tone of voice, "next time, maybe." Zul's sense of humor was dry at best, but at least he amused himself. He tilted his head back to look up the stairs again, considering: had there been anything that had caught his eye as they had bee-lined for the bean-birds? Ah! There was!

Before he could speak, he found the Kitten up close and personal, tying something around his gorget. His sky-blue eyes turned down to himself to observe the lacy tie being fastened to his neck. The demon couldn't help but grin in a lop-sided manner, slightly more toothy than a penguin but who was going to tell him that? Zul returned the brief hug, resuming his gentlemanly stance as her arm slipped with his, resting his hand against her gloved forearm. He didn't mind the girlish tie - he was having too much fun to worry about trivial things like vanity. "I want to see the flat things," he replied in a very serious voice. "They may not be as cute as your penguins, but they looked...interesting..." A beat of wings took them out of the ampitheatre and back into the stomach of the aquarium.

And from there, they went everywhere. Zul lead Lucia first to the manta ray pool, where they were able to touch the slick creatures and watch them float in the water with the same effortless grace that they themselves utilized. They visited the shorebird exhibit to see the multi-colored and various sized avians that called the sea home, which quite frankly, amazed Zul; the concept that anything but finned beings could exist over the fathomless blue was eye-opening to him. There was a seal tank as well, housing many a leathery-skinned aquatic, some looking rather rolled-up and squinty while others were more sleek and trim. Another petting pool let them touch the backs of small sharks. He knew the creatures were things of fearsome tales - to pet one was humbling, and he wondered what Sevilin and Varun would make of all they'd seen.

After visiting various fish tanks of strange coral-looking scorpion fish (Zul couldn't help but grin at those ones), some large and flat ones with red and beige coloring, bone-looking fish and just about every other walk of life in the deep yonder, they ended with an exhibit that was called Voices. It was there that the two learned about whales, from their skeletal makeup and their migration habits (the demon was excited about that part, as he knew of it to a degree) to their family structure and feeding regime. It ended with the ability to listen to different whales communicating with different sounds, and it was the last part that left the demon feeling rather wistful. To him, it truly sounded like the ocean had a voice.

The sun was low in the sky by the time the freshly educated Raevans departed the last exhibit. Zul had no idea if they'd covered the whole aquarium, but his head felt full, turning over the experiences and the tidbits learned. It was true that he'd probably not take most of it with him, but the parts that did stick, he'd not soon forget. Floating beneath the giant whale that he now had nothing but wonder for, he patted Lucia's arm in a friendly manner and gave her another of his smiles, "That was fun." He was referring to the day as a whole, but Lucia was free to take it in any context she pleased. "I think...we did it all."
