Shadowed Moon simply watched with a widening smile as she stumbling over her words. Life-Pulses reaction was rather cute, but understandable. He would have felt the same way. From her response it was obvious that she hadn't noticed her singing, but for one who constantly heard the Song of the Swamp it made sense. He wondered what it would be like to understand what the Swamp wanted to be said.
Shadowed Moon continued to smile as the doe's face adopted her own shy look. Watching silently as she dragged her foot on the ground he couldn't help but grin as he felt his laughter bubbling up. She was so cute while embarrassed! Life-Pulse's mannerisms added to the effect. However, now he was so overwhelmed he wasn't sure what to say.
Pausing for a moment his grin became a sheepish look as he pondered how to respond. Shadowed Moon's mind drifted back to her song and how beautiful it had sounded as it had combined with the sounds of nature. "It was a very pretty song..." He said quietly. It was now his turn to feel embarrassed, he was lost for words. He pondered something for a moment, looking unsure he decided he might as well ask. "Maybe you could sing another one?" Shadowed Moon sounded hopeful, he had enjoyed listening to the melody as she had strung it together.

The sheepish doe was embarrassed byt hte kind buck's words, and by the song that Mother Swamp had just forced through her lips without her notice until she thought back on it. She smiled and muttered a 'Thank you' quietly when he complimented her song, but when he suggested she should sing another, the doe perked up a moment and then continued to stumble over her words.
"Well... yes, yes I could sing another... but you see... I don't know what to sing. It just happens. The sounds just start blending together into music and then Mother Swamp urges me to add words to it all and she guides me through the song." She glanced up at the light buck to see what he would react like, and then continued, "B-but I suppose... I suppose that inspiration could hit me again." She closed her eyes and tried to sink back into the sounds all around, but they weren't calling for her to join in anymore, at least not where they stood now.
"We should go this way..." Life-Pulse said, gently guiding the buck further into the swamp, leading towards a group of mangroves up ahead. As she walked she began to hear more and more sounds that could blend into a song. Her humming resumed as they wandered into this newer territory of the swamp.

Shadowed Moon smiled and listened quietly to Life-Pulses explination. It made sense, and he nodded with a gentle smile as she looked at him. He waited silently as she listened for the sounds that would bring another beautiful song since he wasn't sure what he could to do to help. It didn't seem to be working since her tapping and humming had not resumed.
As she told him they should head deeper into the swamp he nodded and smiled at her as he followed her gentle guidance toward a grove of mangroves. As they approached she began to hum the songs of nature once again. It seemed that the newer area had new things for her to sing of. Maybe the place they had been standing had no more things it needed said?
As they approached it almost felt magical. Her humming and the light drops of rain as they hit the leaves on the trees, their foot steps and the varies other animal sounds. The mangroves had their roots in swampy water, as they often did, and he wondered what dangers or adventures lurked here. What songs did this area have to offer? As Life-Pulse continued humming he felt himself melting into the rhythm.

The rhythm built up all around her, the birds seeming to feel it, too, flitted through the branches, causing water droplets to fall from up above. The filtered down to the ground, like crystals, shining and beautiful, crying out just once as they hit another surface.
A songbird whistled here, and a frog croaked out way over there. All of these sounds melted together and created their song. This song, is what Life-Pulse lived for, what she breathed, what she ate, what she absorbed, and what she was. This song, she could feel, let alone hear, and sometimes she wondered how some kimeti couldn't hear it, or even notice it happening.
She drew to a stop, eyes closed, hind foot tapping to the beat, ears perked up and listening. Her posture spoke it all: she was at peace here, this is where she belonged, this was home. And so, the doe lifted her head and opened her mouth to sing, but instead of her voice emerging, a yawn rudely pushed it's way out. The doe, startled by the thing, merely allowed it to happen and then stood there for a moment with a confused, if not stupid, look on her face.
She turned to Shadowed Moon and said, "It's gone, Shadowed Moon. I just ate the lyrics, and now they're gone." Another yawn escaped her, and she added, "I think I should go nap now. I'm tired and wet, and the Music has faded from my ears. Perhaps some other time I will sing you another song. Perhaps next time I will not eat the lyrics, Shadowed Moon." She looked at him sheepishly, grinning like a foal, waiting for his acceptance. She did not mean to abandon him, but the words had drifted away from her, and there was no more singing for her to do. Atleast not now, and since this realization brought on by an intrusive yawn, the doe felt really tired, limbs dragging in the mud as she began to trudge back to her den in the mangroves.
