Sil flicked an ear to rid it of water droplets as she tried to figure out if Adriana was pulling her leg - of if she really did believe the dead wolves could come back and chase you around. Sil was pretty sure they were just stories told to keep wandering pups...like she had been - in line. Then again, why take chances. If there really were zombies she didn't want to get on their bad side.

Sil pretended to give a little quake as Adriana crept through the water, she was half expecting her to jump at her at some point - but was still surprised and gave a jump when she finally did, falling back into the water giggling before regaining her feet and slapping the water with her front paws at Adriana. "And how are you supposed to make sure your dead stay dead?"

Adriana laughed along with Sil. By now, both wolves were dripping wet, and any crawdaddies or other living beasties who had been in the water were thoroughly disturbed. Fishers who came after them would be very disappointed if they sought to find prey. But food was not on the young wolfs' minds.

Adriana took on a knowing tone as she slogged her water-logged body toward shore. "Fu' starters," she explained, "you must remember, il ne faut pas dire du mal des morts. Speak no ill of the dead." She reached the shallows and bunched her muscles together, shaking the water off her fur. Droplets made a light mist around her and splashed lightly back into the stream. When she was done, she looked less like a lean and sleek female wolf and more like a fluffy baby bear. "They don' like it, you know, and they come back t' defend their reputations."

Sil followed suit, trailing Adriana to the shore and shaking herself dry - far enough away so as not to shower her new found friend with the water droplets - an action which turned her typically sleek fur into an odd assortment of tuffs and muss. Sil didn't seem much concerned with her looks however - she wasn't really an overly girly female - and trotted back over to her friend to remark on the advice about Zombies, which she'd been thinking about while she shook dry.

"Alright but what if they already don't like you when they die? or they think they died in such a way that their reputation was already tarnished, what then?"

Adriana rolled her shoulders in a shrug. Honestly, she wasn't exactly so sure herself. She'd run away from her pack before she could learn all of her lessons, and wolves here in the north seemed less inclined to properly respect the dead. At least that meant she couldn't be proven wrong, up here. And really, the dead only rose if you did something really, really bad to them.

"Ah, well, some o' th' dead are revenge-minded, see, but there're ways to get rid of those..." She paused to lie down again, chewing a clump of mud out from between the pads of her front feet. Her tail thumped soddenly once on the ground. "An', y'know, when an evil wolf dies, it's better t' not mention 'em at all, 'cept sometimes as a warning. They don' mind so much, if y' still act a little like yo're scared of 'em."

"Sounds like you just treat them like a surly Alpha to me" Sil remarked in an amused tone "Stay out of their way if you can and be respectful if you can't" she concluded before fopping down on the ground near the other wolf, so far this trip had gone far better then many of her other excursions out of pack lands. Not that her previous experiences had daunted the young female - and she was rather glad they hadn't now, Adriana was interesting and she was glad to have met her.
