Percy wasn't particularly thrilled to be only offered a room for his reward and then asked to do more. He frowned grumpily and crossed his arms. "I don't read," he declared stridently, as if it were a refusal to do so, rather than a declaration of his lack of ability. Even for such lovely things as his pouch, he wasn't entirely willing to work like a dolt for them. His fluffy tails bristled with his indignance. "Why's it so import'nt you get all this stuff now?" His tone had the petulant ring of a child that felt much abused. He sat himself down with a thump, clearly not intending on moving again.
He was distracted from his pout by the odd sound from the teapot. Even Rompastomp scurried up his pouch's strap to stand on his shoulder and peer at the pot on the table with great curiousity. Percy murmured to the rat, "I dun think it's fer eatin, Rompa." The rat looked undaunted, nonetheless. He balanced by grasping the lower edge of Percy's pricked ear, his little claws not even tickling any more, so used to such behavior was the little yokai. He knew the rat wanted him to stand up and go look, but he was feeling sullen, so refused to do as his pet desired. He wouldn't admit to the interest he himself felt about the unusual situation with the teapot.
He hadn't bothered to spare Jaina even a glance. To his little-boyish mind, what use did he have for girls? Much less grown up girls? All girls did for him was make him squirm uncomfortably. The merest flicker of the memory of that girl with the hole where her heart should have been tened to make him shift uneasily. Nope, he had no use whatsoever for giiiirrrls.

Kael stared at Percy after glancing at Jaina a moment. "It does not have to be done this minute, Percy. Just a list of things to watch for while you are out gathering your own shinies. I need them to teach magic. That is what Jaina and I can do."
A smile crossed his face. "Enchanting bags is not the only thing I can do. I can do much more than that."
"As for the list..." he picked up the pencil making some adjustments to the list. When he was finished, there were several images to the side of each word. Holding it out, Kael explained, "There is now an image of the item beside the name. More than one of that image means I need that many. It shows two images of buckets. That means eventually I need two buckets. Just remember it does not have to be done right away."
"Just a few items every day will help. I can spell your room so that noone can enter while you are gone also. Much better than a lock and key." the ghostling shrugged. "It is entirely up to you what you want to do and what you want in return. You would be capable of learning some magic or even find some of the things we know useful." Laying the list down on the table, Kael began moving things again. The place needed to be clean and in some resemblance of order.

Percy rubbed his nose and sniffled noisily and messily. Well, at least he didn't have to rush out and do more work out in that hot sun anymore. He huffed and clambered to his feet, making much clomping and scraping doing so. Pointedly ignoring the rattlling teapot, he stomped over to the table where the list had been laid. He picked it up and gazed at it dubiously. Quick as a flash, without even looking, a dirty paw flicked out and snagged an unused brass candlestick from the table. In a blink it was secreted into the magical pouch, gone from sight into a container too small to naturally hold it. Yes, he liked this pouch very much!
Without another word to the other occupants, he scooped up Rompastomp and began to explore the building. He tromped up and down stairs, poked his nose into every door, not even pausing when he slipped little shiny objects from here or there into his pouch. A tiny screwdriver, a plastic bead, an incongruously bright tin nail. Other odds and ends that appealed to him, in they went.
He finally found a tiny space up at the very top of the tower. It was tucked into a nook of the roof, almost merely a closet. Nibbling on the dusty tip of one of his tails, he gazed thoughtfully at it. Yes, this would do quite nicely. Away from all those frightfully busy things the others were doing, but up high where he could clomp to his heart's content. And nice and small too! It would make quite a comfortable little nest.
He trooped off, with the rat in tow, back to several of the rooms he'd already been through. He collected bits of fabric, blankets and curtains and other things that were suitably fluffy. Before long, the closet was snug with a tangle of fabrics. Weary now from his long walk, his sulk, and the effort to build himself a little home, he immediately waded in, boots and all, and closed the door behind himself. Dog-like, he turned about several times before settling down into a depression he'd made. Rompa scampered around him before finding a cozy place to sleep amid the yokai's many tails. Within moments, both of them were sound asleep. Amazingly, the list was still clutched in one grimy paw. Sullen as he had been, Percy had every intention of following through and fetching the items for his benefactor. Just not now.
