While his manners were better he didn't mind. He hardly noticed. He was surveying his small domain. He tilted an ear toward her and a smirk slithered onto his maw. "Do not worry. That I understand. Please, eat your fill..." He flicked his large ears forward, eyes narrowed in concentration.
"There's a storm coming." He said after a moment, staring at the thick clouds rolling in. It looked like terrible weather and he lowered his head as if to challenge it.

Ylva looked up at the sky to find that the wild dog was indeed correct. A storm was rolling in and fast too. Stormy weather was no place for a pregnant mother to be. Ylva frowned, it looked like she had plenty of time to waddle back to her cavern if she hurried.
"I hate to eat and run but you are right. " The wind whistled threw the plains, "I must go before it gets to bad. Thank you so much. I hope to return your kindness some day," Ylva got up and started off , waddling, through the tall grass.

"Perhaps you will. Just get home safely. It is all the thanks I require." He watched as she disappeared a sheet of rain obscuring him. He lifted his head up in a manner he'd seen the strange animals men had and let out a long drawn out howl.
The strange sound drifted over the savanah before he disappeared into his den like he'd never been there at all.
