Movies, movies... Ah!
The Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door was great... but it's better if you've seen episodes 1-22 of the series (it takes place between 22 and 23)...
Letters From Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers are good movies on their own, but they are best viewed one after the other.
Gran Torino is one of the best films ever made.
The Star Wars Saga another series to recommend...
As is the latest Star Trek film...
I can't think of any else at the moment....

ok so I've always loved rock musicals even if they're cheesey. -Hedwig and the Angry Inch -Rocky Horror Picture Show -Cry Baby -Shock Treatment and this last one is not a musical but it has a bad a** music scene with justin timberlake that I found quite entertaining Southland tales-Southland Tales 4laugh 3nodding

I am all about anything Pixar.
I love the Shrek movies, too.
Any movie by Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, etc.)
As for grown-up stuff:
If it's Jet Li, it's good... Tony Ja is my up and coming new fave... and you can't go wrong with Jackie Chan... Bad dubbing just makes the experience more fun.
I also love the Die Hard movies, the Lethal Weapon movies, The Last Boyscout Hancock Signs Unbreakable Entrapment The Fifth Element Gatica
Monty Python: Holy Grail Monty Python: The Meaning of Life
There are more, but I figure I have a good start.

Lethal Weapon is a great series.
And is anyone hasn't said it yet: Firefly & Serenity. If someone has already mentioned them, then it's just another vote for their supreme epic awesomeness.
I am also a fan of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
And all of Sherlock Holmes, as played by Jeremy Brett. Jeremy Brett IS Holmes. ^_^
