There will be a privately held tournament in Algonac Michigan. You can register at any Lumber Jacks hardware store found in southeastern Mich. The date of, and the prizes won at the tournament are still undecided. The owner of the Lumber Jacks devision of Ace hardware is fronting the bill, so there is no registration fee.

Cool that there is no registration fee my team and i always have to pay a ton to do tournaments so no practicing but we enter every tournament that comes our way. No money for practicing. lol. stressed

There is one small catch, as of yet there are to be no teams. I found out at work today that the owner is thinking of making it a free-for-all dethmatch this year.

I don't like it because I mostly specialize in team support/covering fire. I'll get my a** kicked.

I'm hoping that they'll just have us pick teams when we get there. I heard that they are considering new ways of team selection because the last two years, some really good local teams sign up and slaughter everyone. This tourny is supposed to be just for fun, not anything serious, and these really good teams come in and wrek it for all the recreational players.

That's just... not cool.

Can't be as in: Can't allow good teams to destroy everyone in a recball game, or can't be as in: you disagree?

Cant be as in cant allow good teams to destroy everyone in a recball they should split up so the teams are fair. that is what my team does if there is too many people new to the sport on one team some of us go there and that way playing against each other helps because your teammates are ussaly as good as you and it gives you good practice.

hey,
ya i know how you all feel on the newbie slaying thing. its not alot of fun. pretty much the guys who are experienced i see it are just proving how much of an a** they are. When my team practices we try to stay to a seperate field from the renters because we all see it as an almost unmoral thing to do. Ive gone through sponsorship times as well. The best way to even appear serious is to sit down with your team sometime and write out a preposal. Pretty much what it is, is saying what you can do for the buisness that is getting the preposal. Weather it be advertising by putting thier logos on your jerseys and hoppers, or putting up a poster of thier business logo above your station at tournaments, stuff like that. Then explain how big the sport really is in tournament ball. Like how many people will be seeing thier logo's and etc. ( those details usually work really nicely.) but ya when it comes to getting sponsorships dont limit yourself to just paintball buisnesses either. We have a resturant sponsoring us who gives us discount cards when we go to tournamenst. We also have a hotel chain that gives us discounts on thier nightly fees when we go out of town as well. just an idea. but it does work.

At one of the arenas by me there is this one guy who is trying to get picked up by a good team. To impress them he always playes against the woodsballers who are there to play airball for a change. He slaughters them all the time. One time the woods guys got pissed, so they surrounded then unloaded on him. There were like 10 guys just shootin as fast as they could at point blank range at him after the game. He went to the arena players to get help for some retrabution. They threatened to do the same to him because he's a total a** that no one likes.
