..:: Nooooooo... ::..

Eric nodded. "Alright. Of course," he said quickly, shifting his spear to one paw as he placed his other on the tiger's back to keep him steady as the otter swung his leg over so that he straddled the big cat's back, grabbing his main to keep himself steady as he gives a few test swings with his spear to make sure he could still use it. After a while, he nodded. "Alright then, let's go."

❤But seduction isn’t making someone do what they don’t want to do.

Seduction is enticing someone into doing what they secretly want to do already. ❤

Selene had been lounging for quite some time by now. Her original plan had been to wait for someone to spot her. What with their current level of security, she was sure that she'd be found almost immediatly. Instead, she found herself sitting in the tree for hours after she'd landed there. She was beginning to debate her next course of action (should she reveal herself?) when she began to hear shoutings of a Dryte. Immediatly she primed herself up, setting her shoulders back. She'd need to be absolutely confident with this. Any wavers and they'd lose their belief that she could do as she promised. Fantastic! It'd taken them long eno-

Who was that they were talking to? Certainly not a Drtye. What were they, stupid? The wings were all wrong, and he was so ridiculously meek looking. Glum. Boring, almost. Dryte men were much better than that. They were either strong and sturdy or the epitome of intelligence. So much...more. Not that he, she noted with a tip of her head, wasn't cute. It was just that that all he really seemed to be. She listened to the conversation and stuck her lower lip out in a pout. That was supposed to be a threat on -her- life! "Not fair," she whined under her breath. She watched him struggle for a decision and rolled her eyes as he not so subtely suggested that he was a Forest Fairy. Well, it made sense as to why he looked the way he did. Such a far cry from a Dryte though. Really, it was near insulting. Even more so insulting was that despite his large hint the men guarding still failed to get it.

She blew air out from her lips, pursing them slightly in the process. It took a stun spell for the idiots to get the message. Really she should have been happy. If they were stupid, then they were more likely to believe her and her offer was more likely to be accepted. It sure seemed that they were desperate enough. Of course, she'd have to get the Hero of Li-

What was the cutie saying? 'Hero of Light for this Kingdom' suggested that he was one too. Oh, goodie! It was always fun to learn about enemies. Then she got the chance to imagine all the ways she could push them around, trick their hearts and heads, and twist out their skin. What would be more fun with him, watching his eyes go heavy with lust, or watching his eyes go heavy with death?

She couldn't wait to find out.

It didn't matter, after all, what he thought he liked. All men, and women, liked her in the end. So was the power of the succubus.

But she needed to work on getting the Hero for this Kingdom to bend to her demands. He was the one that the people would look to for the final decision. Hopefully they were desperate enough to push him to her idea. It was so much fun to make deals with those who wanted life more than anything. It was even more fun when she threw light into the mix. She personally hated it, but others clung to it like children to their mothers. Their relliance on it made it entertaining to watch when she took it away.

Speaking of her plan, it didn't seem like she was going to be spotted any time soon. With a tired sigh, she began to set up a plan B. She'd make a grand entrance and gather as much attention as possible. It wonderful for her style, plus it was always nice to have people's eyes on her. Nicer when they couldn't look away. She delicately shut her eyes, connecting her mind to those of the dark creatures that lurked about in the shadows. They were restless, their minds shaking through the dank, red fog that filled them. Goosebumps formed on her arms. They were mindless, but their power was awsome. Such to be expected of Damius. Still though, she wanted out. Their minds made hers anxious and angry. Too much and she'd do something stupid. Quickly, she gave them basic simple orders. They were to appear at the edges of the guards vision, but not attack. They would move in slowly until they were right before the point that the people would open fire. It was then that she would show.

"This'll be so much fun!"

~Presence of Mind~
There he sat upon the thick branch of the lush lime tree. His gaze was focused on the cloudy sky slightly concealed by the forest canopy. All seemed to be at peace, and it was for some time... The young fairy turned his head to the tree he was sitting upon. A tiny squirrel crawled up next to him and stared into his face with the most curious expression. Clearly to the boy, this was not an Animata. Their life force was much more vivid and significant. He allowed the small animal to bask in the tranquility next to him...

Lynne was a tiny Light Fairy, no taller than three and a half feet, yet he looked completely like a Forest Fairy with no wings. He could be mistaken for many races, in truth. In appearance, he did not seem very awe-inspiring, but his healing magic defined awe. It healed the most gruesome wounds, cured the deadliest disease, and sometimes even brought the dead back to life. Yet, such amazing feats of healing magic required a proper emotional, physical, or spiritual manifestation that was often costly to Lynne's being. After all, it did cost him his wings to master this magic...

Again, the boy turned his head. He gazed at the overcast high in the sky and sighed. "I miss my wings so much..." He thought to himself, showing a clear expression of the thought. He was aware that his magic made up for this loss, yet the ability to fly was astonishing to all, always. However, there was something of greater importance than mere wings at the moment, and Lynne knew exactly what it was. He was a Hero of Light... Part of him knew why, yet another party of him would not cease questioning it... Almost abruptly, the little squirrel jolted down the tree, frightened. It had sensed something. Something menacing.

Lynne dropped to the forest floor, consuming the energy of the fall by crouching. He stood straight up, revealing his minuscule height for the first time. He looked toward one direction, supposedly where the Second Animata Kingdom was, and began in that very direction at a quick pace. Lynne felt the disruptive force that stepped upon the tranquil demeanor of the forest... But what could it be? It could not possibly be Jet, whom he saw passing through the forest earlier. Lynne knew Jet well. He considered the two of them to be friends, most likely because both of them were so unique from everybody else... Lynne disregarded the thought and continued on... until the pessimistic feeling grew stronger... He found himself in a large clearing--a halt in the treeline--that looked circular... The boy walked to the center of this clearing and scanned the area, curious.

((Um, please do not take this the wrong way, as I may have misunderstood the post -does that often-, but I would very much so like it if Selene is not found before the dark creatures start their advance toward the Kingdom borders. I have a nifty little thing planned, and it would be ruined if she was found before she got the chance to be the pompous minx she is. ^.~
Sankyuu~.))

"Love? Compassion? Ahaha, please..."

..:: Dark and Light ::..

The heavily cloaked figured walked slowly and silently through the forest, his multiple fur cloaks dragging along the forest floor behind him. The soft thunk of a wooden staff hitting the dense soil sounded in perfect time as the figure walked. In the last, dying rays of sun, silver hair shimmered before vanishing amidst the darkness that quickly descended. The figure, a man and a young one at that, was smirking as he walked. Though his lips moved in silent incantations, no words were spoken.

Suddenly a sound came.

It was a small chuckle from the cloaked figure, as a small creature appeared on his shoulder. Is sharp contrast to the dark human he was riding, this creature was an elegant white color, with specifically placed and shaped markings on its body. It was a ferret. It stood on its hind legs as it surveyed the surroundings before looking in one certain direction. It lowered itself back down to all fours before making a few sounds that only ferrets can make. And to this, the human nodded his head.

"Indeed. How very convenient it is." His voice was breathy. It seemed to come in a complete whisper, though it was definitely not. He chuckled again as the ferret disappeared down into one of his many cloaks as it usually did when the man walked.

He continued with his slow pace, his eyes now closing as he walked. Even without his sight, he could see. Though not at the living saw, nor even as the dead. He saw the faint outline of the trees as he passed through them, his attention set toward the direction he was headed. Through the slight green, he could see the white outline of what could only be a fairy. And considering the slightly brighter halo surrounding this one, the man was sure this was the one he was looking for.

As he opened his eyes, his lips spread into an even wider smirk, his pace quickening ever so slightly. In the distance, though the mountains were still a distance away, the sound of a howling wolf sounded. And was answered by another. Then another. Soon, there was a chorus of howling, only causing the figure to smile wider, a strange turquoise-shaded mist surrounding him, the staff in his tightening grip seeming to intensify it.

He could tell he was getting close to his target, that familiar feeling of closing in on his prey beginning to sink in. "You've nowhere to go, little fairy," he whispered into the darkness now setting in. He spoke to himself, for he was still not close enough to the boy to speak to him. Or end him.

Suddenly, the man stopped himself, his eyes closing again, still with a smile on his lips. He threw his head back, letting out a howl of his own to answer the wolves'. Instantly, the wolves stopped, the human's continuing long afterward. As soon as his voice died off, he thrusts his staff into the air, the energy around him swirling before leaving his body to begin forming shapes beside him. Shapes of wolves. This was not the end of it though.

As he lowered his head and opened his eyes, a soft rustling of leaves around him announced the arrival of a pack. A pack of wolves, to whom he had just commanded to come to him. Chuckling darkly, the young man began walking again, the wolves, both real and spectral, moving into step behind and beside him.

"Time to play..."

Tiger's Pride...

Jessie shifted slightly, it felt odd to have the other on his back. His ear twitched at the feeling of Eric's paw in the tiger's fur. It felt nice. He pushed those thoughts from his head, "Hold on tight" he said, his voice 'growling' out of his throat. The bengal tiger moved back quickly, making sure he had enough room to do what he needed to. His tail twitched as he estimated the force he would need. /Best to use more than I would usually with another person, don't want to get anyone impaled on that spear/ he thought before he sprung into action. Strong muscles clenched and moved as he dashed, suddenly he tipped backwards just slightly, leaning on his haunches mostly, the tendons coiling, before he sprung forward with unnatural strength. His claws attached themselves to the roof of the house before him, aiding him in the trip upward. With little difficulties he landed on all four paws with Eric still on his back. He was sure the otter was a little bit shaken, but he didn't glance over his shoulder to check. Instead he began moving once more, running along the roof tops, leaping over the gaps. It didn't take long for them to reach the main gate. He blinked as he saw the exchange between the guards and the fairy. To Jessie it was obvious the boy wasn't a dryte. He growled a little, irritated that the guards were so impeccably stupid. It was then he noticed a real dryte, nestled up in a tree. A low deep throated, furious, growl escaped the tiger. The guards really were stupid, letting a real dryte sit there unnoticed.
"Eric" he breathed, keeping the anger out of his voice "Look over in that tree, do you see the female dryte there?" he asked, nodding to the tree "Do you think you can startle her out of there?" Jessie could fight in the trees, but not when the dryte had the advantage of flight. That made things difficult for him. Clearly he could jump onto a roof, but jumping after a moving target in the air from an already high position was suicide. Jessie may have been more about brawn than brains, but he wasn't so stupid. In fact, he was far more intelligent than most would think do to his sheer size and strength. It had been said when he was a child, that he had the talent to learn magic, but that it most likely came out best when he was psychically fighting.

~The Oncoming Evil~
There was absolutely no doubt about it. Lynne was in danger. The howl of the unseen figure petrified him, practically binding him to the ground... Darkness was about to fall, and the boy would be clueless. He got lost during the daytime. Nightly navigation through the forest would be deadly. Lynne quickly pulled himself together, shaking his head lightly. He stared straight ahead, unaware of what exactly the danger was. It could have been some sort of demonic wolf creature, or anyone else imitating a howl. If that were the case, they were excellent at it. It was both admirable and frightening...

Lynne was unsure how to operate in conflict that involved him directly. He was timid, which was one of the other reasons he preferred magic over close combat. On the contrary, however, the fairy knew what was best at the moment. He recognized that it was darkening, and trying to run would only delay the inevitable. He would be both hunted and cut down... Fighting was the only choice he had at such a moment. His frightened stare became a semi-confident glare. Held loosely at his waist-gab was his weapon which he named the Solace Wand. This miniature weapon had a peculiar shape to it. It was crafted out of a greenish hardwood, embedded with sky blue, crystalline orbs. The wand splits into two tiny spirals, forming a point at the very tip. Tightly secured in the spiral is a much larger azure crystal... This weapon was created specifically for extremely high magnitudes of white magic.

Lynne gulped nervously. "I'm... I'm not afraid. Come out!! I know you're there!!" The boy shouted, hoping for a warning response... But there was nothing. The creature, or whatever it was, was going to close in on Lynne, and he knew it himself. He was not sure what else to do but stand and face this unseen foe... His grip on the wand became firm.

❤But seduction isn’t making someone do what they don’t want to do.

Seduction is enticing someone into doing what they secretly want to do already. ❤

Selene, for a bit of time, kept watch over the city and over her little army of monsters. Just as she'd instructed, they were moving in closer and closer. Her eyes darted quickly over to the battlements. Tension was growing just as she had planned. They were readying their weapons and their claws and their spells. Perfect. She could see the Hero too. Oh? And what was that? It seemed like another one was riding on his back? How perfect. She analyzed them further as they approached. Pretty handsome, really, for an Animata. They were always interesting, she found. A mix of animal and man. Following instincts was easier for them than others, and made them pretty fun bed-mates. The one on he was carrying was cute. Otters didn't appeal to her as much as jungle cats did, but it wasn't as though she was going to start being picky now. They'd seen her, she noticed with a squint. The tiger was motioning to her with his head. Darn. And there she was, plannning some great surprise entrance. Oh well. She'd still give the guards and others a shock.

Now that she had been spotted though, she really did need to get out of the tree before one of them came at her. Another quick glance was given toward the monsters. They were not quite as close as she wanted, but it'd be good enough. Immediatly, without warning or a second glance toward the two Heros, she flew out of the tree. She pushed her arms up, as though she were diving in reverse. Her arms lowered, and she waved at those poised to attack.

"Hello~"

An arrow was aimed at her chest. Rather good aim that bowsman had really. She dodged it with a simple twist of her chest and tilt of her shoulders, and winked at the man who had shot it before straightening himself out. She gave a look over at the others, as though tempting them to try again. Carefully, she concentrated on giving off mild phermones. Not enough to get even the most hormonal teenager hot and riled, but enough to increase the chance of people trusting her. It was about complacancy.

She moved herself so that it looked like she was laying on her stomach in air, eyes scanning the area as though she didn't know where the man she was looking for was. She missed over him a few times before locking onto him. "Ah~ha! There are you, Mr. Important. I have a deal for you and your entire, lovely little kingdom." Her words curled and she paused, listening to the outcries, before she dropped the 'L' word.

"One involving Light."

The crowd was hushed.

..:: An Offer Made ::..

The otter nodded, quickly moving himself off of the tiger's back and onto his own footpaws, walking to the edge of the roof they were on top of. He watched the female Dryte closely for a few moments, his paw tightening around his weapon as she looked back at the pair. "No need to startle her out, Jess. Here she comes." he watched as she moved out of the trees and into the air, giving a wave to the soldiers stationed below her. He scoffed a bit to himself. Did she think she was welcome here?

He growled a bit in his throat as he saw an arrow let fly from the wall somewhere to his right. He kept his eyes on the female as she skillfully shifted in the air to dodge the arrow, straightened out, then seemed to lay down in the air. He grunted as he felt the slightly charming effect she seemed to have. As he paused a moment to glance around, he noticed a few of the Animata on the wall and on the ground lowering their weapons slightly. So, she was a seductress. This was going to make things interesting, to say the least. As he looked back to her, he spotted the legions of dark forces forming just outside of the light that the torches of the city cast, and just outside of arrow range.

She was obviously the leader here. Or at least in charge of this strike. As his eyes locked back onto her, he noticed that she was scanning the city before her before smiling wide and spotting who she was looking for. One 'Mister Important'. The otter didn't even have to turn around to know that she was speaking to Jessie. As far as he knew, the Dryte only knew of one Hero of Light in the city. Eric himself was only aware of two, not having spotted Jet yet. His lips spread into a small smirk as she mentioned a deal. He shook his head slightly, the smirk remaining, as the city erupted in anger around him. He remained silent, keeping his eyes on her. She obviously didn't know much about Animata. Not if she expected them to make deals with their foes.

As hush settled around him, his smirk faded. His eyebrows furrowed, and his grip on his harpoon tightened even further. A deal involving Light? His mind raced as he thought both of what she could mean, and what it would require of the Animata. The latter, he was certain, would be a conditional surrender. Quickly, he turned around, his eyes locking onto Jessie now as he waited, along with the rest of the city, for his reply.

"Love? Compassion? Ahaha, please..."

░▒▓│ The Pack │▓▒░

The human's smirk once again widened as he slowed to a stop. He stood a few feet from the treeline surrounding a small clearing. At the center of which was the small fairy whom he had tracked here. With a silent wave og his staff, the wolves around him quickly spread out. They moved as any hunting pack would, the celestial ones moving in time and in cooperation with the flesh and bone as the canines silently and swiftly moved through the trees to encircle the young boy, even though he couldn't see them, as they remained hidden in the trees and semi spread out, but close enough together to catch him should he attempt an escape.

Once they were all in place, the shaman who had summoned them chuckled darkly, mostly to himself, though the fairy could most likely hear him now. "Brave warriors who are unafraid of their foes do not usually freeze in fear before their attackers, now do they?" His wispy voice, despite its softness, carried to the boy in the center of the clearing. Slowly, the man began to move forward, the smirk dominant on his face as he broke through the treeline, his staff thumping into the ground beside him as he walked a few steps into the clearing, watching the fairy closely.

When he stopped, he gave a single thump of his staff against the ground, this one louder than the others. Instantly, the trees around the clearing seemed to rustle, the hastily assembled pack of wolves slowly closing in around them, making the ring surrounding the two smaller. With another thump of the staff, they all stopped, the flesh and bone snarling and slowly beginning to pace in a circle around the two, while the spectral wolves sat themselves down and watched what was unfolding before them. The shaman smiled wide, revealing his teeth now as he eyed the boy. "Tell me, Hero of Light. What is your name?"
