"You ever tasted blood? It has a sort of metallic, almost stone-ish like taste to it. Something you don't find in your common food around here. And just licking a stone can't compare to the stone essence of blood. You have to actually have some in your mouth and roll it over your tongue a bit." Sauda didn't really mean to gross anyone out, but the taste of blood just made her mouth water a bit. She wished she could have had more then what she did.
Head low she scowered the ground close to trees and bushes looking for the places where the herb would grow. Well certainly not too many place around here, the ground was mostly too dry or the air wasn't cold enough. Sighing lightly the mare shook her head, snorting that Shadow Hearts were certainly a rare herb indeed. Ears flicking back some, Sauda stomped a hoof and raised her head back up, puzzling.
"During the summer, I go a moon cycle before taking blood. That way I'm not always hunting for the little bugger. During the colder months it's every half moon cycle." Turning her head towards the youngster behind her, a devious and still bloodied smile appeared. "Would you care to try it the next time I 'hunt'?" Not that she was really going to make this one take blood from another creature, but she was willing to offer it. "Then again, most Kirin over here don't like the idea of drinking another creatures blood. Seems too..." She stopped herself and shook her head. "Nevermind, none of my business as to what others do anyways."
Going back to her search, ears remaining back as she plowed a head. Tedious, very tedious to talk to someone who didn't know of her past and of her ways. Back on the island, they didn't give her Shadow Heart herbs, they gave her other things, but didn't know the names. Then again, Sauda didn't know if these things even really grew around here at all. But even with their bitterness, Shadow Hearts were divine!

"Uh, no, I haven't tasted blood, thank you very much. I just so happen to be a plant-eater, and not just to make my stomach feel better." Rayenn nearly snapped at the mane, but then jerked her head back and took a few steps backward at her arrogance. Where had that come from? That had been a really, really bad idea. Would Sauda kill her now? She hoped not; she was too young to be the older mare's next meal. Hopefully she either hadn't heard the youngster's comments, or didn't really care.
Her question, though, was insanely odd. "Would I care to try it? No, thank you!" she said, amazement in her voice that Sauda would ask such a thing. Did she really think that Rayenn would want to do such a thing? Had she forgotten her earlier actions and words, her dislike of blood? Did she have short-term memory loss, along with her strange desire of blood? This one was crazy, crazy, crazy! "You really think I'd want to try blood? Really? You're so odd." She shook her head, still a few paces back. "Maybe all that blood's gone to your head."

"I too was a plant eater, well I still am a plant eater. I just eat more herbs and roots then most others do. I don't take blood all the time, I would surely get sick." Sauda frowned a little as she looked back to the mare that followed her as she searched for the elusive her, Shadow's Heart. She gave a shrug after the youngster gave quite the out burst about trying it, pity though. She was missing out on something, to bind ones self to... Oh what was it again? Sauda's masked head tilted to one side as pools of bloody red looked a but cross eyed as she was in thought. Shaking that away, she stepped forwards once move though looks down as she does.
"AH! HERE IT IS!" She just screams out of pure wanting to, maybe to rattle Rayenn's bones. Stooping some, she pulled at what looked like dead and withering twigs. "Come on, come on." She struggled with the pesky plant. Rump wiggling a little, slowly the black root gave way to its hold on the earth and slipped from the ground hitting her in the muzzle. "Ow." Sauda muttered shaking her head a little, a black blob of dirty roots and herb swaying from her teeth. Not that it looked tasty just being picked from the ground, surely she wouldn't REALLY be eating the thing...
