"Wow, that's a decent sized family. But just a pack family, no actual pack?" she asked following after Numair. Something about him she just found so intriguing, how different and the same that they were. She wondered why and what the connection was. But he stomach drew her away from the thoughts as it rumbled lightly a good fresh meal wasn't a bad idea.
"A good meal sounds wonderful, the rotten stuff I've been eating as of late though having a slight intriguingly different flavor still can't beat anything that's a good fresh kill." she sighed licking her maw at the remembrance as the taste of fresh warm blood from a newly killed fawn.
She pounced a little, nipping at Numair's tail. Slightly envious of his unique spots, but she was reminded of her own markings from the swirls that covered his one foreleg.

Numair smiled and jumped ahead every time she nipped at his tail. “Sometimes I wish it was a smaller family honestly, but no it is just us here, as far as we know.” He winced inwardly as she mentioned rotten meat, had he ever had such a thing? The young male seriously doubted it. “Then we need to get you food soon… rotten meat doesn’t sound very good for you.”
The male smiled at the seemingly quiet expanse of land, perhaps his siblings had gone fishing with their mother. “I don’t know if anyone is home.” He mummerd as he neared the mouth of the cave. “DA, MUM? Are you home?” Nu glanced around, unsure now if his parents would approve of him bringing someone home. Secretly he hoped his dad would be the one to find him with the girl, after all, he at least was a bit lenient, he dealt with his sister for gods sake.

Faela was still in awe as she pounced after Numar. "Well I don't really know, I just know it was food. The berries are really good, and i like some of the really sour ones, they make your face pucker up." she laughed and stopped staring at the boulder that covered the den. It was so strange and yet beautiful. Something that seemed to fit her in a way, something so hidden and beautiful, full of mysteries and yet was really so simple and yet complex.
She never seen anything like it at all! And there was the entrance, hidden away to the side, unnoticeable unless one was actually looking for it. "Oh wow!" she whispered, tail starting off in a fevered wiggle. She wanted to stick her nose into the mouth of the den, she could smell Numair's family in the area, three females and three males, such a balanced little family.
The large male heard his son outside and pulled himself up and out of the mouth of the den. He had to blink a few times before his eyes adjusted to the bright female. He had grown so use to the neutral colors of his family that he had almost forget that others came in a wide array of colors. He looked from the female to his son with a warm, curious smile. Bringing home girls already, so young and already so far ahead of himself. "A little early to be picking out a mate isn't is Numair?" he sneezed lightly with laughter. "So where did you find this pretty little femme?" he questioned thoughtfully with a small wink at the girl. Something told him she was safe enough, it was rare he saw others around his field where his little family lived. He'd heard of pups on their own and but the looks of her that's exactly what she was.

Numair looked down and pawed the ground uneasily. “She’s a friend da, and she needs a place to stay and food… I wanted to know if we could help her." The little male had always been refined around his dad, too afraid to speak his mind, and yet too afraid not to put input for his father would surely turn the spotlight on him. Perhaps it was due to his sister being a daddy’s girl, or his other siblings clinging to mum, but Nu felt the only one he could really talk to was his sister.
He had missed the wink to Fae, and thus didn’t get relieved of the awkwardness the boy had wrapped around himself. “I was… exploring by the waterfall, and happened to come upon her, her family was kidnapped by evil things Da, shadow wolves, or at least I think they were wolves. But who knows anymore!” the boy looked up, brightened once more of her story. So by telling what he was told Numair disregarded the guilt he felt for exploring further then the waterfall. His golden eyes were full of wonder, spider-silk visions of what was possible, but impossible all the same.

Faela blushed a little under her fur at the wink. Numair's father was a very gorgeous wolf and she immediately saw where his wonderful spots had come from. She was also perceptive enough to notice the vine-like scars that circled his forepaws. A small sense of pity swept over her. Though she could tell the scars were old, they almost seemed fresh.
She nodded though at what Numair was telling the older wolf. "Yes, my family was eaten by great shadow creatures! I'm going to see the Great Ones deep in the mountains to find the door into the darkness to rescue them!" she piped, brown eyes bright with excitement, again, nearly believing her own spun tale. But she became slightly shy when her stomach let out a low rumble, she wished she could have stopped it from doing that.
The large male tilted his head at the little femme. "Well then, I believe we can assist. May be a little cramped in the den, but I don't see why not. Everyone is sleeping at the moment for once. I just got back a hunt as it was, there is plenty to go around." he nodded. A smile crept over his maw though at the story. Pups always came up with the most interesting spun up tales. He did wonder though what the true story was behind the bright female. "I believe you will be safe here from such creatures though. There is a strong light presence that keeps us safe here and the hunt good. Do come in and help yourself." he nodded towards the entrance of the den and moving slightly out of the way to open the passage.

Numair followed his dad with a hidden undercurrent of fear, what if one of his obnoxious siblings said something rude and hurt his guest’s feelings? Millions of these scenarios played in his mind as he bit his tongue to keep from asking to be excused and running away.
He was suddenly so tired, and yet he knew he had to talk to his father, and the chance would be gone soon if he did not act upon it. “Da, can I talk to you for awhile tonight or tomorrow morning?” he asked suddenly, keeping his eyes down and his ears flat. He didn’t want to hurt his family, but he knew that he had to follow his heart.
“I hope you don’t mind the cramped-ness.” Nu whispered to the light female with dark markings. He was walking close by her side now, hoping to tackle his siblings before they did something stupid, if they should. He was happy it was his father that came out, but disturbed all the same, his da more then likely knew he had been out far longer than he usually did to ‘explore the waterfall’ as he had billions of times before.

Chagrin nodded to his son, "Of course Numair. You know you can come to me for anything." he said licking his son's muzzle lightly. Of all the pups Numair was probably the one most like himself, the rest of them seemed more like their mother, though Aranel showed great signs of having picked up his more flamboyant and flirty side. He hoped it wouldn't lead her to trouble later on in her life.
The blue female followed close with her friend into the dark cool den, the smell of blood and musk of others filling her nostrils. But the blood rose over everything and she searched it out. "I believe it'll be fine." she whispered to Numair, she could see the outlines of the others in the den but not make out much detail after being out in the sun for so long compared the darkness of the den. "Oh this smells so good!" she sighed nipping at the meat, not wanting to be rude and dive straight into the still warm flesh.

Numair wrinkled his nose at the affection from his father. Seeing as he was escorting a girl to her new resting-place Numair was cautious as ever, and affection was the least thing on his mind. The male snorted at her nibbling at the meat and mumbled something about her being too scrawny. “Don’t be shy… I don’t eat much really, so you should dig right in.” Numair picked at the sides of the fresh kill, more to do something instead of watching her. Really all Nu ate in a day was one meal, about a rabbit in size. He was never destined to be on the larger side, but he had no question in whether or not he could hold his own. He had proven that time and again.
“I will talk to you in the morning da, for now I think I’m tired.” Numair went down into the corner that was his, apart from everyone else. He pretended to curl up all the while keeping an eye on the female and what his father would do to embarrass him in moments. Silently he thought over how it was he would find the courage to speak of his leaving to his father all the while drawing in a radiant confidence that came from the girl before him, like a plant to the sun.

At the prompting Faela from Numari she dug into the meat, savoring every bite with its freshness, something she had been deprived of for so long. She almost felt as though she were ruined and never would be able to even so much as look at another carcass the same again, that she would be spoiled of meats and only able to eat fresh kills. But wolves were opportunists and she knew that. When game was scarce they would eat what was available regardless.
She filled her belly to the burst point, and finally plump with sweet meat and pretty muzzle stained with the blood of the kill she licked at her maw and settled near Numair, curling around herself, a paw draped over her nose. And there she fell asleep.
Chagrin laughed a little at the pair. He welcomed the small female into the den, he had a soft spot for pups and couldn't just leave the poor thing to her own. He would have to explain it to his mate late, but he would worry about that when Myrle awoke with the others. He nodded at his son and settled down next to his mate, gently laying his head on her and drifting off himself.
~~~~~~
Within a few hours the small blue pup awoke, ear switching at the sounds outside. the den was still and quiet, everyone still asleep. She sat up and looked around and back down at her newly acquired friend. She wanted to wake him but thought better of it, to wake a wolf from sleep was the raise evil in one. Only in the most dire of circumstances was it wise to awake a slumbering wolf. Instead she bent over and licked his forhead lightly and whispered. "We will meet again Numair, and the next time we meet I'm sure you will be the knight you so long to be." she said getting to her paws and silently sneaking out of the den and into the fading light of the day, off into the distance, to her next adventure, though she would never forget Numair and his Father's kindness.
