I am Kelly, of Kasiical Village.

That's what I was telling myself this morning, when I woke up in the strange bed, in the strange room, with the sunlight streaming in. Quite poetic, really.

I was dropped off here last night; that's when the madness began. I was greeted at the door by a frenzied barking - it was opened to reveal a winged child, hovering a foot off of the ground, attempting to restrain a large grey dog! She was yelling something about 'Lina being harmless' and 'to go on through to the kitchen!'. Naturally, I ran for it.

Unfortunatly, my ride was gone. That was when I made my first mistake; not legging it then.

"Hi, you must be Kelly, right?"

That was Nova. She was in *part* of a Jack Uniform, Grunny Slippers, and last year's santa hat - and she was cuddling a coco. First impressions were not good.

"Umm... yeah"

Go me. Acting like I don't even know my own name.

"I think you might have guessed I'm Nova. I'm supposed to be looking after you, but I'm sure you're old enough to do most of the looking after yourself, right?"

"Umm... yeah"

God, she was... enthusiastic. It was quite scary. Really scary.

"You'd better go in - I'll show you were to dump your bags"

I shouldered my *single* rucksack, and followed her. The house had apparently origainally been a cottage, but had so many extensions and various additions it looked more like a... well, a mess. With honeysuckle growing over it.
The peeling blue front door swung open, and my fate was sealed. Ramshackle stairs, cats draped everywhere - and an incredible amount of small dragons and children.

The room isn't too bad, really. It's in the attic, with two small windows facing to the east. There's a bed with a patchwork quilt, a pine dresser, a fireplace with a rag rug in front of it, a sink, and that's about it. There's also a tiny desk and chair, a curved bookshelf, and a creaky rocking chair. When I got there, there was a fire burning in the grate.

The door to the attic is tiny ^__^ The room is actually pretty small too, and curved like a tower. It's wunderbar!

Dinner was... interesting... There's a huge oak table in the kitchen, around which were... oh, about nine children around it, ranging from little babies to teenagers and adults - although Nova told me later that she had a much larger family, but most of the adults had moved out - and that usually she had a few more kids around, but it was saturday so some of them were staying with friends, and most of them didn't have anyone over.

Dinner was eaten quickly and noisily - apparently the aim was to eat as quickly as possible so that you could heap more onto your plate, but there was a lot of chatter. After dinner, I was introduced to most of them. I won't list them here, mostly because it's too long @___@;

I hung around in what Nova termed the 'living-room', attempting to fight for sofa-space with several wolf-like creatures and small dragon-things, and read some of one of the books that had been on the book-shelf in my room. Apparently Nova knows what I like; they were old sci-fi and fantasy books! ^-^

Heheh.

Then I went to bed.

Just woke up and wrote this; according to the girl who opened the door yesterday, Nova insists that we have to be out for at least an hour every day; or else *shiver*

SNOWWWWW!!!!!!!

Yesterday was interesting. I wandered off during Nova's hour - and found a HUGE dome in the woods! It was attached to a house, too! ^____^; Absolutely enormous! It turned out it belonged to another Hououza - she called herself Liberty. She's very pretty, with wonderful blue and red hair. The house she lives in is ENORMOUS! REALLY ENORMOUS!!!!

When I got there, she was talking to some other Hououza - Proteus (a kid of the 'strong and silent' variety) and his sister Aela. She's really... blue. Eheheh.

Of course, I introduced myself by tripping over a root >____>; Face-first into the snow. Yippeee.

Liberty invited me in, but I had to go - Nova had organised this 'welcome to the household' party. That was pretty nice, actually. I got some presents, and there was a nice cake. I felt loved - something I haven't in a long time.

After lunch, we had a big snowball fight. I stuffed snow down Nova's neck - then she used a leafblower to blast me in snow! gonk

Oh my! Today has been busy. Nova has been preparing for christmas, and there have been all sorts of present wrappings and secret whisperings! Today I went present shopping. I won't recount what I bought here, since I am sure that people are reading my diary! gonk

It's so nice in the evenings now; there's a big fire in what Nova has dubbed the 'drawing room', and you can toast marshmallows and stoof over it! I feel so much more at home then I did.

It's been a really lovely day; it was snowing again, and it felt so good under my shoes! All 'crunchycrunchycrunchy!'

Now I really should go to bed. I have to be up early tomorrow - we're taking a trip to Nova's woods. Apparently she's a dryad or summat. Lots of gabble about 'regeneration and renewal' o____o;

Still. Should be interesting - we're taking a wonderful picnic.

Christmas has been and gone *sigh* Bu yes, it was fun. There were two enormous turkeys, and about fifty people. I never realised just how large Nova's extended family is. It's quite scary - but I suppose it must be nice to have that many people to rely on when you're ill or somthing.

I got 'Persepolis'. It's a comic book about this girl who lived in Iran. It's really scary and sad in places, and it doesn't end that nicely, but I think I felt better after reading it.

Not like the complete Maus - that was just sad and depressing. It made me feel ill. It's all about this man's father, who went through the Nazi concentration camps, and survived. It's all done very well, but it's so depressing. I thought I was going to cry while I was reading it.

I met one of the researchers a couple of days ago - Sora. She's umm... kinda pyscho. Not quite as pyscho as this other guy I met though! I was sitting under a tree, reading, and this Hououza fell out of the sky! gonk We then had a fight, then Sora came and broke it up. It was cool ^^ Really cool. They were like, bouncing off of trees and stuff!

And Nova's taken up Judo, in addition to her Karate. It means a lot of moaning about broken toes, getting repeatedly beaten, and sat on. I'm sure it's good for her ^^

The snows all gone. I miss it - a lot. And now I have to go to school.

I'd much rather I got taught at home. There - I did it again! Calling this place home! Bah!

Today we went to buy school uniform. An itchy red school jumper, a short pleated skirt (looks awfulllllll), and a long white shirt, with the most awful cuffs! God, it's depressing gonk And the school shoes - they're awful! Horrible square-toed things!

So. Next week is when it's happening.

School.

Argghle.

Schools nasty. And so are the people. That is all I'm saying.

There's been a new addition to the household - a Satyr calling himself 'Fedhlimidh'. I don't like him.

Bah.

I suppose I owe this journal a bigger update. I could list accidents within the last month:

1. Explosion in the kitchen. Cause: Dua. Small Angel-thing with a penchant for explosives.

2. Boiling water spilt over me. Cause: A cat. Of the many.

3. A paralysing spell. Cause: A mage friend of Nova's visiting the house.

4. Most of the feathers dropping out of my wings (have since grown back). Cause: The aforementioned mage attempting to reverse the paralysis spell.

5. A fire set in the living room. Cause: A small dragon

6. My window being broken. Cause: A small boy with red hair and a football.

I could continue, but it seems pointless. Oh - I must remember to talk to Liberty and the other two I met a few months ago. I haven't seen anyone outside the house in weeks.

I went to the beach today, and met a woman. She called herself 'Windy', and had two beautiful Hououza feathers! <3 I have a feeling she's one of Nova's friend - she's certainly clumsy enough... She nearly fell *over* me! gonk Nyah.

Fedh is, now, a more intriguing person. He has been leaving presents on my bed in the mornings... I am curious as to why. He doesn't seem that attractive to me. It is a secret to you, diary, that I must confess that I find women far more attractive then men. Is this wrong?

Fedh tried to make a move on me today. It was... embarrassing. I think he would really have got nasty when I refused him if Nova hadn't been there; she's the only one who can really keep him in check.

I just ran back up to my room. I was, like, crying and everything. He called me some pretty nasty names... I don't really want to repeat them.

I've locked the door so that he can't come in. I've got one of Nova's cats here; it's like a furry hot water bottle! ^^

I've got homework to do, but I'm not sure if I can really do it; I'm too wound up.

I found Kelly in the woods yesterday. Well. Not exactly in the woods. More unconcious and bleeding in a ditch. I think she was trying to run away. It's all this buisness with Fedh, I'm sure of it... Something had attacked her; some sort of animal. I suspect Fedh, even though I have him locked in his room - he can still command animals.

Oh dear.

She's pretty badly hurt, and I can't even begin to think what this has done to her mind. She's going to carry the scars for the rest of her life.

I've tucked her up on a sofa downstairs - I don't think I could get her upstairs by myself. Where are all the helpfull men when you need them?

I don't remember anything. That's what I told Nova. And I don't. I don't want to.

I met a little girl today; she was called Eliphy. She was french, so I got a chance to practise what I've been learning in school and from some of Nova's more exotic children. She was very sweet. Nova had carried me up the hill - she claims that I needed fresh air' and tucked me up under a blanket.

Nyah.

I'm reading the Wit'ch books at the moment - they're really scary and gross in some points, but they're fun ^^

Nova held a BIG birthday party for me; she says that now I'm an adult, I'm free to move out if I want to, but I don't think I do. No matter what has happened here, I feel safe.

I haven't seen Fedh recently (thank God) I think he's avoiding me.

Nova's been away recently; she went somewhere called 'Wales', which is apparently near where she lived as a child. Not a lot else has happened; haven't really seen anyone, or done anything, 'cept read, so...
