The dragon's cheery blue eyes were unperturbed, and she sprayed water from her snout at the brunette, obviously feeling pretty sassy.
Kess took the fall rather well, as she'd more than expected someone to pull her in [though she'd predicted Uuni], turning it into a sort of short dive. She didn't have to surface herself, feeling Condoroth's nose pushing her back up until her head was above water again.
You fell in too, Mine! We should push others more often! I did so well for my first attempt!
Soon you'll be shoving with the force of Ialluth!
Easy grin in place, she wrapped an arm around her dragon's neck, not even bothering to tread water to keep afloat. Sending an idle splash Uuni's way, she wrinkled her nose in friendly acknowledgement to Liniyie. She didn't seem to bear him any ill-will for tugging her in prematurely.
"Yes, just like my eyes." The blonde took the compliment in-stride, as those same eyes examined Uuni's wet form. The girl was quite the swimmer, she'd seen her cut through the water before, however Kesslan was stronger and had plenty of practice herself, growing up in the Weyr.
"I'll swim you. What's the prize?"
Please inform our Uuni that I will swim as well! You may have the prize, Mine!
A smirk and Kess waited to hear the reward before responding with, "Oh, and Condoroth is in as well."

"Against two fine women and a dragon are my odds, eh? As a man I don't think I could let my pride rest if I passed on this race, so I'll take you up on it."
A wide grin broke Liniyie's face as he rose to the challenge, stretching one of his long arms above his head as he tried to get out the aches and pains that cold water brought on. He figured with the temperature like it was, and seeing how they were all going to be moving, none of them would get hypothermia if they properly dried and cared for themselves afterward. He wasn't sure how the Dragon would fair, but he figured her rider would know best and wouldn't have let her in if it wasn't okay.
"How about the winner can decide the reward? I like the idea of the winner being able to ask of the losers anything they want."
It was a common suggestion used in races or things, Liniyie always the victim and never the winner, but he figured he might have a long shot here if things went his way. The girls may be stronger, but he was a bit taller with a better reach. Perhaps that would lead him to victory. . .

Finally getting to her feet, Uuni kept her muscles warm by shifting her weight to and fro and flexing her fingers and toes. As she hadn't started chattering yet, Uuni didn't think there was any major issue.
"Well, Liniyie can pick," she said with a grin towards Kesslan.
Catching Liniyie's eyes as he stretched, she gave him a wink. "That's a lovely idea."
"Okay, go!" She did not wait for anymore confirmation from anyone before lunging forwards. One step, two steps, and she was into her waist and from there she broke the water with her hands and head.
It wasn't cheating, of course. Everyone else could do it. And, really, what could be more of a cheat than Condoroth who worked for Kesslan?

Kess, right against her green, had no qualms about using the young dragon as a sort of diving board, cutting into the water and disappearing beneath the surface. It was interesting how similar she and Condoroth were, both disappearing beneath the water with force, though the blonde's head broke through some yards away to really begin the race.
Condoroth stayed under, of course. What kind of dragon would do a breast-stroke? Kess didn't considering it cheating, exactly, more like using what assets you had at your disposal. Avery would've been proud.
She didn't bother to pay attention to either of the other swimmers, her movements focused and powerful. The only point at which they'd concern her was if one of them touched her.

Liniyie started off behind the girls, watching them use their own advantages to get farther ahead quickly, but he slowly moved his long limbs out and started to move his way through the water. It'd been a long time since he swam, he couldn't recall too much free time at the Hall and all his running around here as a Candidate sort of narrowed down any activity, so his last real swimming race was probably many, many Turns ago. Not that any of it mattered, because now all he could think of is that he didn't want to lose.
He gave a hard kick of his legs and pulled himself forward, his hands cutting the water and giving him enough thrust to move swiftly through. He wasn't paying attention to the girls either, just the target in front of him, because the last thing he wanted to do was swim quickly and smash his head or face into something. Wounds in the water were irritating to treat, even more so if the wound was on his own face and the result of stupidity.
Liniyie continued to move, feeling the water churn around him, and with his hand extended he reached out and touched the rock as he finally came to the finish line. Peeking his head above the water, he looked to the left and right to see if the girls had beaten him there.

The thing with Uuni was that she wasn't really sure what she wanted. So, after she'd given her first few quick-sprinted attempts, she rolled over onto her back and looked towards the other direction.
She couldn't see Condoroth very well. There were some ripples in the water that had potential to be a dragon swimming beneath the surface. Most of the disturbance were coming from the flailing arms of Liniyie and Kesslan.
Uuni was glad not to be a part of that bunch. Grinning all over, and starting to feel the chill grab hold, Uuni slowly back-stroked her way over. Every now and then she'd make more hasty strokes to stay warm and catch a glimpse to the front where Liniyie and Kesslan had no doubt already finished.
She treated them to a broad display of teeth as she pulled in dead last and hoisted herself up onto the finishing rock. She wasn't sure who had won, but she was excited to see what everyone wanted. In the mean time, she would busy herself with ringing out her hair and rubbing the goosebumps off her arms.

Working out in the lake often with Condoroth, plus weyrling lessons and genetic fitness definitely helped Kess. Her strong limbs brought her fingertips in contact with the rock rather roughly, scraping a bit as she pulled herself up and onto the protrusion. Gasping for breath, the blonde glanced back as she got to her feet, pleased to see Liniyie just a moment behind her. Brief confusion showed on her face as she saw Uuni coming up quite a ways back.
"Good swimming, Liniyie."
Of course, none of that mattered because of the Green who stuck her head up on the other side of the rocks, trumpeting her success quite loudly.
Mine! We are the best!
Uuni probably would've beat me if she'd tried. You are the best, Condoroth.
Nonsense, Mine, I wouldn't have chosen you if you weren't the best!
Bending down at the waist as the brunette arrived, Kess reached down to help pull the older girl up onto their perch. Her eyes were amused, grin slightly sheepish.
"You challenged us. Where were you?
Quite rudely, Condoroth shoved her muzzle into Uuni's hands, crooning. She had won and wanted the acknowledgement!

Liniyie shook his head to try and rid himself of the water that rung in his ears, its presence muting words and making them sound distorted, so after a moment or two he'd realized he was being complimented for his swimming, despite having come in second. . . or third. It all depended on if he really could consider the dragon has having competed fairly, since well...no human could ever hope to beat one at anything physical.
"Thanks, you too. I haven't swam in who knows how many Turns, so it feels nice. I was almost certain I'd forgotten how to do anything."
He went silent as the other woman made her way over and Kess reached down to help her out, a thin smile playing on the teenage boy's lips. It was clear he probably was intruding all this time, despite having been literally pushed into joining, and it would be in his best interests to just stay silent and let the women enjoy their time together.
In soaking wet clothes that clung to the body, despite how many layers were being worn. His cheek flushed red, faintly, and he rubbed them quickly with his hands as if he were fending off the cold that came from being out of chilly water and in the chilly air.
"So seeing as K'lan is the winner, or rather Condoroth is, what is it that we losers must now do?"
