rubyhiwatari200:

Your deck is all over the map, man. If you like dragons, go that way and get rid of all the Dark Magician stuff. The BEUD is pretty much useless since you don't have 3 BEWD's (no, Blue Eyes Shining Dragon cannot be fused to make the BEUD).

I suggest you choose to focus on either the Red Eyes Black Dragon or the Blue Eyes White Dragon, but don't mix them or you're going to have a hard time summoning anything.

You've got some good non-tribute dragons, but you need more. Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't have more than 2 or 3 tribute monsters in a deck. REBD and BEWD can be special summoned, so you can make an exception for them, but pick EITHER the Tyrant Dragon or Kaiser Glider to include. I also suggest adding a Jinzo if you can find one.

My deck adheres to the traditional rules, not the new advanced rules

Life and Death deck:40 cards total

Monsters: 20
Fire Princess x3
Enchanting Mermaid x3
Marie the Fallen One x2
Nimble Momonga x3
Penguin Soldier x2
Spirit Reaper x2
Sangan
Witch of the Black Forest
Cyber Jar
Fairy Injection Lilly
Needle Worm

Spell Cards: 10
Messenger of Peace x2
Graceful Charity
Pot of Greed
Monster Reborn
Raigeki
Dark Hole
Swords of Revealing Light
Premature Burial
Giant Trunade

Trap Cards: 10
Call of the Haunted
Gravity Bind x2
Solemn Wishes x2
Ceasefire
Magic Jammer
Imperial Order
Gift of the Mystical Elf x2

THis deck has what I call "Perfect Balance." 20 monsters, 10 spells, and 10 traps. One could argue that Marie the Fallen One is not used as a monster and so throws off this balance, and they would probably be right.

The idea of this deck was to get one or more Fire Princesses on the field (in faceup defense mode) along with one or more ways to gain LP automatically each turn, and keep it that way. Obviously, this was difficult to do, but it was a hell of a lot of fun when it worked. It wasn't uncommon for me to have upwards of 15,000 LP by the end of the duel. Fairy Injection Lilly was great for busting out an atk when the oppoenent least suspects it (She can atk and use her effect while MoP and Gravity Bind are on the field). Needle Worm was in there just for giggles (It's great when paired with a Penguin Soldier). Ceasefire could be counted on to do a good amount of damage since all the monsters are effect.

This deck's worst enemy is magic and trap removal. Imperial Order helps somewhat (but also negates the MoP, which isn't always a problem). Jinzo negates gravity bind, but can't touch MoP. Magic Warrior Breaker can also kill this strategy pretty quick. It goes without saying that Skill Drain would be devastating, as would Bad Reaction to Simochi. Fortunately, few people play these cards or have them in their side decks. This deck is weak against Exodia since it usally takes awhile to get into gear. It also doesn't have much of a backup plan if the main strategy fails. The addition of a Fiber Jar could give you a second chance, but it could also screw you up.

The limited number of magic and trap spaces can become an issue as well. MoP, Gravity Bind, Solemn Wishes, Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, and Imperial Order are all continuous magic and trap cards. Obviously, you cannot have all of them out at once, nor would you want to.

This deck also follows the Tradidtional rules format

BEWD Quick Summon Deck: 50 cards total

Monsters: 30
Blue Eyes White Dragon x3
White Dragon Paladin x3
Sonic Bird x3
Senju of the Thousand Hands x3
Great Maju Garzet x3
Jinzo
Sangan
Witch of the Black Forest
Magician of Faith
Penguin Soldier x2
Cyber Jar
Nimble Momonga x3
Dark Ruler Ha Des
Sinister Serpent
Spear Dragon x3

Spell: 13
White Dragon Ritual x3
Pot of Greed
Graceful Charity
Monster Reborn
Premature Burial
Swords of Revealing Light
Raigeki
Dark Hole
Harpies Feather Duster
Cost Down
Change of Heart

Trap: 7
Call of the Haunted
Magic Cylinder
Ring of Destruction
Mirror Force
Imperial Order
Magic Jammer
7 Tools of the Bandit

If you are wondering why this isn't a 40 card deck, the reason is that 11 of the monster cards require a tribute or special condiditons to summon. If I went with my normal quota of 20 monsters, only 9 cards in my deck would be easily summoned monsters. Very bad idea. However, this deck is still respectably balanced at a 3/2 monster to other cards ratio.

Obviously, this deck is all about getting the BEWD onto the field as soon as possible, but has the added bonus of the Great Maju Garzet. The ideal combo goes like this:
1. Special summon Paladin of White Dragon
2. Use his effect to special summon a BEWD (The BEWD can't atk this turn)
3. Sacrifice the BEWD for Great Maju Garzet (Who would have 6000 atk and COULD atk this turn)
4. If you have it, and aren't low on LP, flip the Ring of Destruction to end it all. The RoD is also handy if your atk fails and don't want to risk your opponent getting your beefy GMG (Which is what the Magic Cylinder is there in case of). It can also be a panic button to end the duel in a tie (weak).

As I'm sure you noticed, all of the cards in this combo (with the exception of the optional RoD) are cards that can be searched from your deck using Sonic Bird, Senju of the Thousand Hands, Sangan, and Witch of the Black Forest. That makes it very easy to get this combo out.

What is also a lot of fun is to use the Paladin's effect, then use Monster Reborn to get him back and use the effect again. Then use Premature burial to get him back and use the effect again. Then use Call of the Haunted... you get the idea.

This deck is actually VERY effective and successful at pulling of this strategy in one form or another. I ended several duels on the second or third turn with this deck.

If your Paladins don't pan out, Cost Down helps summon them more easily. Jinzo and Dark Ruler Ha Des are also forces to reckon with. Great Maju Garzet is also scary, even if you just tribute a spear dragon for him. Ditto for Jinzo. Ditto for Dark Ruler Ha Des. Ditto for almost every monster in the deck. This secondary strategy is perfect for Game 2 out of 3 because your opponent is all worried about the Paladins and WHAM! comes Jinzo and Dark Ruler Ha Des.

A great deck with a great plan B. I won lots of duels with this one.

Again, traditional format, not advanced rules

Cid's Exodia Deck: 40 cards

Monsters: 26
Exodia the Forbidden One
Left Arm of the Forbidden One
Right Arm of the Forbidden One
Left Leg of the Forbidden One
Right Leg of the Forbidden One
Sangan
Witch of the Black Forest
Magician of Faith x2
Penguin Soldier x2
Nimble Momonga x3
Bubonic Vermin x3
Mystic Tomatoe x3
Spirit Reaper x3
Thunder Dragon x3

Spell: 8
Dark Hole
Monster Reborn
Premature Burial
Swords of Revealing Light
Painful Choice
Pot of Greed
Graceful Charity
Upstart Goblin

Trap: 7
Call of the Haunted
Jar of Greed x3
Mirror Force
Imperial Order

Draw cards, thin the deck, and STALL is what this deck is all about. Good combos to look for in here are:
1. Monster recovery + Sangan and/or Witch of the Black Forest= more Exodia searches
2. Penguin Soldier + Magician of Faith + Painful Choice= Goodbye Deck
3. Penguin Soldier + Magician of Faith + Swords of Revealing Light= Stall those attacks forever

You can easily kill off more than half your deck with these cards, even if you never reuse them. Be careful not to deck yourself. Fiber Jar can be inserted instead of a Spirit Reaper if you want a reset button.

If you are wondering, Messenger of Peace and Gravity Bind are not in this deck since many of the monsters need to be destroyed by battle in order to activate. Just make sure your opponent doesn't get a clear shot. If you're nervous about it, put back in some Gravity Binds and MoPs.

This deck has no plan B if Exodia doesn't work out, so you have to be careful. Get Imperial Order out ASAP to avoid hand destruction.

I say, that if you're going to use water things, then stick with the water plan. So, why the B.E.S Crystal Core? How does that mesh with this deck idea, that obviously concentrates around the Aqua Genre.

Hydrogendons and Oxygendons; Something my friends and I were experimenting with, and they are an awesome combination. Bonding - H20 Special summons the new Bad a** in town, Water Dragon, and he is pure power for the water decks. I believe, that he has an effect, that goes around, like if he dies, then you can special summon 2 Hydrogendons and 1 Oxygendon from your graveyard. Which easily sets you up for another Water Dragon special summon! Water Dragon is a 2800 B.S ( Beat Stick ) So, he'd prove very useful.

To help things get goin, Another Abyss Soldier would do very nicely. For this water deck, which since you're using the Advance April 1st format, will have - a lot - of speed. With him there, he can clear the field some, and I believe you can use his effect more than once Stick those Hydrogendons/Oxygendons in the graveyard, to ensure, that a different Water Dragon may be special summoned later.

Not to mention, you can discard another water monster, say... Legendary Fisherman and then special summon him, with cards, like Call of the Haunted, or Premature Burial.

Granadora, if I remember correctly.. His effect is - way - too risky. So, instead of those, why not use more Amphibious Bugroth MK 3? Since this deck probably would run nicely with either A. A Legendary Ocean, or B. Maiden of the Aqua, you could put those Mother Grizzly's in use and search/special summon those bad boys for some Direct Damage combat.

The only monster that I can really say looks nice in there, is Mobius the frost monarch. He is a good addition to - any - deck, due to his great effect.

As for Spell cards... Ever think about Magical Mallet, instead of reload?

Magical Mallet
Spell: Normal

Add any number of cards from your hand to the deck and shuffle it. Then draw the same amount of cards you added to the deck.

It's a better reload, since you can always keep the stuff you need, and then take the chance to fish for things you may need in the future. It's definately not a card to under-estimate, for I have seen it save games for many of my friends/fellow players at tournaments.

I say that Gravity Bind and Spell shield Type 8 would only be taking space in your deck. Sure, you're using A Legendary Ocean, but against decks, that keep an eye out for the M/T field, it would do you no good. EVEN as a stall tactic. Spell Shield will save you from one thing, and that one thing, could just be to lure out your traps. I'd - never - use it, unless it was a matter of life and death. Instead... Why not Tornado Wall? Because you really don't seem to have much to protect yourself from a Persay... Horus/Silent Swordsman Swarm. In which, those two would make this deck a living hell to play.

Where's the Mirror Force? That would also help, too. Water monsters are back for the easy swarm.. Why not assist them? Lol.

Advanced Format or not, that's still too many cards for a deck... period.

I think, that if your deck has the basic concentration of warriors, then it should remain that way. The things, like summoned skull and such; Even if powerful monsters, will only slow it down.

And since it's traditional format, - and - this deck is basically a swarm/one typed deck, Tribe Infecting Virus/Armed Dragon would make really quick work of this deck.

I see Equip cards, but where's Ben Kei?!

Ben Kei + Big Bang Shot on opponents monsters + Giant Trunade = Removal of their monsters. Then you just Stack them equip cards on Ben Kei, such as the Shots, and higher equips, such as Axe of Despair and United we stand, and that could be the game.

I'm sure you know, that Ben Kei can attack once more for every equip card you have on him. So, let's do some math here.

He's a 500 attack monster. 2 big bang shots, being 400 each, put him to 1300. Axe of despar puts him at 2300. United we stand will give him an additional 800. Putting him as a 3100 attack monster. 3100 + 5 attacks = 15500. Meaning the - END - for your opponent. And think, you can simply get him out with Marauding captain, Reinforcment of the army, or any other warrior support card.

EDIT: Your opponent has reaper face down?! Pfft, No problem! Big Bang Shot gives that Armed Samurai of yours Trample. - STILL - Making it the end of the game. Your opponent will have no Spells of Traps laied on the field, on account that you - just - trunaded the field. Ben Kei is under-estimated by many, because no-one likes to stack equip cards like hell in their decks. Not to mention, that at first glance, a 500 4 star monster is very unappealing.

If you want a better Earth deck thinner, then you should go for Giant Rat... He's much better than that Warrior Lady of the wasteland.

Ben Kei can easily take the place of Mataza the Zapper. So, if you run the Armed Samurai, Take Zapper out. You only need one Marauding captain. If you want to be on the safe side, run two. 3 is complete overkill.

Mystic Swordsman's... Although, I respect your usage of them, they aren't really needed for your power house warriors. One Mystic Swordsman LV 2 should be good enough for you. Being it, that he'd only be needed to swipe those pesky face downs away, THEN you charge with something, like Ben Kei, OR Goblin Attack Force.

Princess of Tsurugi is a maybe... Since you have these equip cards, it could prove to be some nice direct damage... Though, why Trap Master? That just seems to be a waste of space. ~ Shrugs. ~

He may not be a warrior, but if you want a better fiend Megacyber, Go for Cyber Dragon.

I could go on and on, but that would take the fun from people making their own suggestions/reviews. I will say this last thing. No matter what you're playing, Traditional or advance, you have too many cards in your deck. It'd be uber slow, even with the Spell/Monster thinners you have.

That be my opinion.

BES Crystal Core IS A WATER MONSTER!!!! So it fits water theme...

and after the tourny, a guy helped me with my deck a lot and I added Hydrogedons in it, no oxys or a water dragon, the Hydros were enough... I put 3 in.
Abyss Soldier is just too damn hard for ME to get now... no more Horus Lv6s to trade for any...
I naturally put call and preme in there... WHO DOESN'T??? I added a bunch of s**t after the tournament and now it plays over 543% better in play... and it kicks a**
My Granadoras are find since I can protect him and tribute him with my new Monster Gate I shoved in there. I also shoved an amphibious bugroth MK-3 in there anyway...
I have 3 mother grizzls in there, and I won't use the rest... I use 3 Legendary Oceans... and I don't have a Legendary Fisherman to get or put in right now... I already knew to put him in but I was focusing on the rest of the deck before trading for him...
I know what Magical Mallet does... I don't have ANY of em, so I couldn't put it in there and I am searching my damn a** off for one! And it is DAMN hard to get... no one will trade one, it's almost impossible to get.
For tornado wall i must have legendary ocean out... and they'll just pop it in a while... so it'll just sit there or get blow up by it's own effect since "umi" isn't there...
And Mirror Force is STILL on the Forbidden List, you n00b... SO I CAN'T USE IT... once April 1 rolls around, Graceful Charity and the Mirror are going straight in!

So, stragely, I already put all the cards in you mentioned and I run my deck very well... so I don't need a five-page essay on what I DID, and what I edited before I read it... it's like telling me I was born in Spetember... I KNOW THIS!!!!

(sorry for the extensive... harshness)

Actually, it reminds me of my friend's deck at school, but w/o the Buster Blader. He is one of the only people in my school that can hold up against me for more than 10 rounds. Most people lose against me in only 7 rounds. Some lose after 4 rounds. I think your deck will actually pose a challenge against some duelist. Some duelist think they have to have a heck-a-lot-a monsters with high power, but I notice that you only have a few high powered monsters. That should be extremely useful during duels when your opponent can't get any high monster to the field. Plus, your keeping close to 40 cards and that's a good thing.
