Hektor picked up another stone and tried as the mare had done, and the rock successfully made 2 skips. Hektor gave a small whiney of accomplishment.
"Thanx"
He also just realized that he had no idea what this mares name was. There had been no proper introductions. He had been so distracted with everything else.
He bowed and said, "I Hek tor"

"You are Hektor.I see....I'm Champagne.But you can call me Champe."she nibbled on some grass,and chewed it with her eyes dreamily looking into nothing.

Hektor looked in the direction Champe was looking but did not see anything.

Hektor Gazed at the sky. "Yes, is pretty"
Champe made Hektor not worry about all the sad thoughts in his head. She filled him with a sense of calm he had never had before. She now gave him a sense of purpose, to protect her.
Hektor started to wonder what a young mare like Champe was doing all alone. It didn't seem very safe to him.
"Why alone Champe?"

She sighs."Most of the time,we do.But there are some Kirin that don't live in herds,some because they are to isolated to see anyone,others by choice.I'm the latter.I never really met anyone who can 'protect' me..."

Why choose alone? You protect self always?
He went closer to Champe now, curious about what her story was. It did not seem to be typical of a wild kirin. He wondered if she even could tell a difference between himself and other kirin. The war garb is kind of a giveaway of his identity though. She probably did know.

Champe smiled."Luckily,I usually meet friendly Kirin,so I don't really need protecting.But maybe I should change that...."she looks at Hektor.

*Hektor glad with Champe's joy, eagerly raced after her*
Maybe this wasn't such a horrible day. It was more a huge leap in life from what he use to know and to something a lot different. It was an opportunity to live with his own kind and learn more about himself and those like him.
He wondered, what kind of place Champe lived in, or any kirin for that matter.
*He finally caught up to her* "You live close?"

Champe neighed happily."Mhhm!"She lead Hektor sideways of a beautiful waterfall,that poured out into a small lake and then into the ocean,eventually.The waterfall lay over a slide shaped rock,and in the widest part was a small cave,hidden from sight."Come in,come in!"She trotted into her cave,which was surprisingly quiet,and started gathering hay from the corner.There was a big "bed nest" already woven and she quickly made a new one,slightly larger,for Hektor."If you get hungry,you can nibble on some hay whenever you'd like.I have TONS of it in the back,worked all spring to have enough for winter."

Hektor was quite amazed with the mares home.
"It's nice, thanks"
He watched her work and she made him feel quite at home. The cave was neither too cold, nor too warm and it had a refreshing quality to it. There was fresh water close by, and comfortable bed and food.
He watched her work on the nest. He thought to himself how much this mare pleased him. She was kind and enthusiastic, qualities that he valued.
When she was done weaving the nest, he went over to it and laid down. "Is good, is sleep time." After Hektor laid down, he noticed just how tired he was. It had been a long, emotional and hard day.
(This may be a good stopping point for this rp, what do you think?)
