Adela was watching Schraeder closely. She was somewhat able to read him now (but how she missed his attempts at flirting is unknown). "You're still hurt, aren't you?" she accused. "C'mon. Where does it hurt? I could have sworn I got the injury entirely..." Healing a gash that big took a toll on her, but that was okay. They weren't fighting at the moment, and it was safe to rest after making sure Schraeder was fine.

He chuckled softly at the attention. Always a mind-over-matter kind of person, he had no problem with putting the remaining pain out of his mind.

"It's fine, Adela. I'll be all right in a few minutes. If I'm not, I'll let you know. In the meantime, let's talk about what happened in there. What did everyone think, see, notice?"

Adela sat indian-style beside Schraeder. With a slight frown, she answered, "Hm. Those people we first ran into weren't trained soldiers. And the tiny girl said something about looking for scientists?" She was not going to forget Clarissa's lunge for quite a while. "Then let's see...those strangers had some pretty interesting stuff going on with them. Bladed arms, claws, huge-a** shields, and wasn't there a spiky looking dude?" She shook her head. Those were some really weird people with strange talents.

"Hell if I know what those soldiers that attacked us wanted. Last I checked, the only people we might have pissed off were those strangers at first, and even then, it was weird." What did they all hold in common? Who were the soldiers, and who were the strangers? Ack. I just remembered! "Didn't those strangers side with the Thief?" If so, we'd have to face them again. How the hell do I battle against the sword people and spiky dude? I can't touch them!

Schraeder nodded. "Excellent analysis. Yes, they did go the the Thief, which means that right now they're our enemies."

He groaned slightly as he remembered the conflict. "They did indeed have some weird powers, but it's not like we can really talk. I mean, we're not exactly normal."

He opened his eyes and looked at Adela. "Good job in there, by the way. Leave it to you to figure out how to use healing to work on combat." His eyes slipped shut again.

"So, we now face this inter dimensional psychopath known as The Thief, several biotic humans who exhibit mutated versions of various nature, let alone the few who are allied with us at the moment and we're being escorted by people who come from the future all the while being told that we've been affected by the presence of their own device's radiation, thus granting us these strange abilities that cannot otherwise be explained? Well, I'm so thrilled this wasn't complicated at all. Pardon me for a moment while I attempt to further understand what has happened to us."

Jon huffed and stepped to the side for a moment. He ran his white-gloved hand down to his saber and withdrew it for a moment to inspect the metal.

The sword was a curious thing. The blade was on the inside rather than facing away from the wielder, it was designed to never pierce flesh or cleave bone. However the durability of the antique weapon was in prime condition. He had once tested the blade on a tree at his old estate, slicing it in two with minimal effort.

He inspected every inch of the blade and amazingly found not a single speck of dust or rust on it as it gleamed in the light. The radiation must have changed him in a way that affects the flow of time around his body.

Temporal Distortion..

The young Brit chuckled as he re-sheathed the blade and returned to the others.

"Well, I do not know what to make of it all, but seeing as the situation we are in seems to be far beyond our, or at least my, realm of expertise, I would assume this is a scenario where our best maneuver would be to stand by the ones with the bigger guns, so to speak. This group seems to have one objective and no ulterior motives and that is stopping this particular individual and simply returning to their home. Despite my unexpected involvement, I feel it would be best that I continue to aid them in whatever ways I can," Jon ended with a smile.

Adela gave a proud smile. "Thanks! I was trying--" She got interrupted by Jon's dialogue and was somewhat annoyed with his snappiness. It's not like we had it any easier, dude. We had to fight! You got to be stuck in a room. "...mmkay. As I was saying, I was hoping it'd work. Otherwise, I was pretty sure I was not gonna make it on just healing myself over and over again. I was actual--"

Yet again, she was interrupted by Jon's return. Her left eye gave a slight twitch as she waited for him to finish talking. "...lovely. I'm glad you feel that way," she curtly replied. She looked at Schraeder, yet again, and said, "I was actually surprised by your teleportation trick. Very well played."

"Thanks," he murmured, speaking slowly. "I wasn't sure it would work, but I figured if I could retain and redirect the momentum, I'd be able to do it."

He sighed. "If we're not leaving soon, I'm gonna take a nap. That took a lot out of me."

It was at this point that he realized he was lying on the rock that he and Adela had been leaning on before the fight. He couldn't help smiling a little.

Finnegan whistled a jolly tune, generally avoiding the stressful situation and taking on a laid-back manner.

He stopped at the mention of a nap, "A nap does sound good, it does." he agreed.

Joneleth couldn't help but roll his eyes.

There's too much going on right now to lie down and sleep. Blimey... These people are so disconnected from the subject at hand... Granted, two of them had just been in a fight for their lives, but still..

"But what are we gonna do from there? Our problems aren't gonna go away over a nice little nap, they aren't." Finnegan added.

Adela looked over at Finnegan with a sigh. "You're right. Nap sounds good, but I'm not gonna do that. You can go ahead; I'd rather wait until said leaders have come back to tell us what's going on." She started to crack her neck. "Irg. We've been forced into a fight that's not our own, but if we don't participate, the world's gonna end as we know it."

There wasn't much of a choice - all there was to do was help.

"Oh, come on," Schraeder murmured. He held out a hand lazily to Adela. "If everything's gonna be such a shitcan soon, might as well enjoy it while we can. Nap with us!"

He patted the rock. It was warm, and there was plenty of room for a strictly platonic nap.

Adela was contemplating. I'm tired, and it's warm out. It'd be good for napping. But still - she was gonna be sandwiched between two guys. And as much as she was used to being around guys, even she knew that there were boundaries that ought to be respected. You know what, my back hurts. I'll lay down. But I'm NOT falling asleep. That way, if someone gets too close, she could move away. Strictly platonic nap or not, there were always chances for things to happen, and she didn't want anything to be misinterpreted.

Decision made, she laid down putting her hands behind her head. "I'm not sleeping, but I am going to relax until our fearless leaders return."

"Good enough," Schraeder murmured happily as he let his hand drop. It landed near her shoulder as he finally drifted off to sleep.

Fighting the pain was tiring.

Adela stared at the sky as she thought about all that had just happened. Helena had really scared her with her arms. How was she supposed to fight against swords? Those were bound to defeat her plain old flesh and bone - she was pretty sure that even with her healing ability, she couldn't regrow a limb. Eh. Could I reattach it? So long as I got to it fast enough, maybe? She inwardly cringed. She hoped she'd never have to find out.

Spiky kid. What could she do about him? I guess I could still jab him. It'd hurt like Hell to get in a good hit, but I could quickly heal myself after taking him out. But did she really want to deal with pierced body parts?

Clarissa. Okay, the girl had hands. So long as she dodged the claws, she was fine. Not too difficult to deal with the shield girl either. But I wonder if there is a way to lock away their powers. Huh... She continued to ponder while relaxing against the rock.
