Ada is sitting alone at the end of the hufflepuff table and glares at the headmistress hoping she knows I will tackle her one of this days when she's eviling on the new kids :]

Alice released her hold on herfriend to glance at the scampering first years. She giggled with amusement and kneeled down to tie her ratty old sneakers. Something sparkled from the corner of her eye and she looked up. Only a foot or two from her face were the most fantastical shoes she had ever seen. Her eyes grew wide and she leaned forward to get a closer look. Her knees were wet but her eyes were so grateful to see those amazing shoes. She reached out with her hand and slowly, slowly, leaned closer to the shoes. When she had forgotten all else was around her, her finger poked one of the gemstones, glistening in the sunlight. She hurdled back and jumped up and down on her knees. "OMIGAWD! OMIGAWD! OMIGAWD!" She squealed. She looked up at Sophie, with a glisten in her eye. "Where did you get these heavenly rhinestones? Can I borrow a few sometime?"

Sophia noticed the glisten in the eyes of her friend. Not wanting to be a killjoy and tell Alice about the permanent sticking charm she had used on said shoes replied, "Why don't we do better than borrow; why don' we just owl an order in for even more shinies, eh? " Just as Sophia was helping her friend from the floor she caught a glimpse of a lone Hufflepuff at the end of the house table. Sophia couldn't resist when she noticed how scathingly Ada was looking at the headmistress. "Oh, come off it Ada; it was just a bit of fun..you aught to try it sometime. In fact, if you ever really want let loose I know of this great band whom always has the best mosh pits!" Sophia stated with a bit of playfulness in her tone.

Alice had whipped out her giant magenta notebook and was already scribbling down "order shinies" when she looked up to see who Sophie had been talking to. Out of all the people she knew, she hadn't met this girl yet. She suddenly felt stand-offish. She poke Sophie in the ribs and turned to her ear. "Who is that girl?" she asked, inspecting her appearance again.

Sophie jump a little at what she thought could only be described as a "kung fu poke of doom". She looked down at her friend; whom moments earlier had been trying to sperate a few ribs and answered her query. "That dear Alice is, Ada. Another 6th year."

Alice felt intimidated. The girl was older than her? She felt dumb and naive, but she waived to the mysterious guest. Alice nodded in acknowledgement and approached the girl called Ada. Nervously sticking her hand out she said "Hi, there."

"Hello dear hufflepuffs! Professor Pellins here" Professor Pellins pushed in between them all. Hello Hufflepuff house!! This is your Head speaking, just thought you should all know that the Quidditch season is coming up, and we need a team. If you would like to try for the Quidditch Captain, just come to my office in the Transfiguration room!!" She said smiling "There are notes all over the common room to, so don't forget" she said, and walked off cheerily

Feeling slighty jealous at the loss of her friends attention, through half lidded eyes Sophie drawled out "Oy, Alice when your done introducing yourself, i'll be over in the common room, eh?"

Alice felt mean suddenly. Through a shameful grin, she waved back. "Ok! See you there, then!" She turned back to Ada, who seemed to be uninterested in Alice's introduction. Alice, now feeling rejected, turned on her heel and quickly ran off toward Sophie. Alice jumped on her back and flung her arms around Sophie's neck. "C'mon! Carry me, Sophie! My feet hurt!" she cried out childishly, trying to forget the mysterious girl.

Eva half ran half walked over to the table and sat down on her own but then decided to ask someone where she was supposed to be going or waht she was supposed to be doing.

Alice jumped off her friend's back after many angry words. A girl was walking along not far from her in the opposite direction. She looked sad and thoughtful. Alice ran after the girl with good intentions. "Hi!" she said brightly, surprising the girl by accident. "What's your name?"

Sondra walked into the great hall astonished at all the new first years. She smiled to herself remembering her first time stepping foot through the castle doors. She sat at the Hufflepuff table noticing some new faces. Hoping to make some new friends she introduced herself, "Hey you all! My name is Sondra Vee!" 3nodding
